I concur. Most studies indicate that the most efficient time for humans to really learn a language is when they are very young. Its sad that most school in the USA don't use multiple languages until Middle or High school. For most of us, by then, the brain is already wired and the opportunity to learn language on deep level is diminished. I'm a native English (well, "American") speaker, learned Spanish in High School. I still do not follow Spanish convers

snagged it... waiting for email registration portion... thank you ...bear! Guess I WON'T GET THIS after all. Software won't let me register with the code sent to me via email. Says it isn't valid. 12/1713 11:55am EST. Oh well. Weird process installing, it never 'accepted' the registration code sent via email, but I can get the program to run, anyway. Cool. Happy camper, I am. (with apologies to Yoda's s
[quote who="Crastiloowa" reply="17" id="3427400"] @Raiddinn - the U.S. (which is what I assume you mean by "America") is not really a good model for the in game cultures, nor are really any modern nation-states; these are supposed to represent relatively small societies of survivors from a global magical apocalypse who are just piecing back society together. However, for some examples of modern day cultures that enforce more or less universal military training, see Switzerland:<br
These are interesting times... lots to look forward to!
Pandora does punish stacking harshly, when facing opponents that are equipped to deal stack-wide damage. Its a trade off, as it should be. Stack of doom is possible, but in Pandora (unlike civ4) effective counters also exist. More interesting choices...
Thanks Seth, it really does look like a survival of the fittest cascade playing out, doesn't it?
Looking for career advice By Illauna on June 18, 2013 20:33:27 from Elemental Forums I don't honestly know why I'm posting on this forum but people seem pretty cool here so I feel comfortable posting this here. Anyways. My Story time : I grew up <span style="text-de
All that is left is the bug/feature where a second (or more) attack on a player/user settlement in the same turn results in almost no defenders.
One other suggestion on the tactical map. Unless your troops start so close that you must engage in melee immediately, fall back with your melee (meat shield) troops between your ranged troops and your enemy. Remember, troops can both move and fire, so continually move them as far away from the enemy, every turn, so that when the meat shields die, you have the maximum number of turns to rage attack the closing enemy troops before they are in melee range of your ranged troops. Iceland has just convicted four of the top officers of the Iclandic bank that collapsed becuase of their creative banking practices. Link to BBC article; http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-25349240 How can we get the US government to really go after the senior banksters who have damaged the economy for main street and middle class folks? Iceland shows it can be done.
:) opps, did I just use a 'special character? :)
And don't forget creating a real flying environment, and a real subterranean level...
"... a keyboard? oh how quaint...."
I feel like rewarding Froogy with his very own squirrel mount. Maybe he will include them in a LH DLC. http://static.fjcdn.com/pictures/Tonight_f22fc3_2996458.jpg Carry on having fun, working hard, and doing right by your customers... NOTE: have to cut and paste link. I'm not good with all the webby stuff yet. Thanks for tip Cardinal Direction.
sorry sidney.... my bad... spin version> arthritic fingers mis typed, and inadvertently missed the one "s" key stroke. May I please have one of those green lollipops your emoticon has?
worked for the code talkers the USA employed during WW2.
excellent game..
@go anna: The game walking dead has video playthrus on YouTube. Also, wika has plot summaries.
Thank you Po, Seth. Only one of my accounts was hacked. Only once, way back in 2011. Pw has been changed since then. Will change it again.
Sidney's brain scan seems to have strange bumpy structures. Maybe we should study (not dissect - at least until he is done with his brain) them and see how they affect the brain spaces in between?
@Kantok: If the 'messy self-deterministic capitalism' corporations you favor really practiced what they preach, then why are so many of the cutting edge inventions and technologies created via government financed programs? Do you really believe a 'free market' really exists for larger corporations? It doesn't. The 'market' is rigged by these corporations. The USa has a very soft form of Fascism. ((Before y
Way-points would be a great addition to pathfinding. I also hate it when I get careless and order a movement beyond one turn's movement points. My unit sometimes ends its turn right next to a nasty lair or monster stack. Usually that means I won't have to bother giving my unit any more moves as it will be dead. Waypoints would minimize this regrettable 'feature' of the current pathfinding mechanic.
And I am absolutely sure the pizza delivery person is making a living wage.
If slaves are meant to represent the peasants /serfs conscripted in the medieval era to fight using like pitchforks 'alongside' professional troops, then their role and function is to be cannon fodder. That being the case - I think the game should severely restrict the weapons and armor they may equip. Armor restricted to a max of basic leather, weapons to the tools used in their labor (like hoes, pitchforks, etc.). If 'slaves' are meant to represent
Yes, but the laughing sounds they make indicate this is exactly what they live for... err die for. :) Seriously, I, too, have found them to be underpowered, as well. My fantasy is to make a few of them loki-likes (from the Fall from heaven mod of civ4). Create a few of the darklings with very high defense, and a semi-random teleport affect, and a somewhat random 'take temporary control of an enemy unit' ability.
