Jafo, Jafo, is that really you? Ok you mean aliens, return our Jafo to us and take your clone back to your mother ship.

I grok...
i thought the circus was the Brit secret service digs in London. Did you miss being 'short' a 'circuit?' :) Actually, never heard that expression. They get overturned often?
They say that if you think someone is out to get you, you are probably paranoid. Perhaps we are just a wee bit paranoid about all this web stuff? ;)
Please accept my apology. I am ignorant of the boundaries for discussions on these threads. I took a post about a high tech Fridge and TV being controlled my unauthorized outside forces and extended to to lawn mowers. The lawn mower is a Stephen Kink reference. By bad, I apologize.
Hi Darca, I fixed it by plugging in different core numbers until one worked. Basically,I have to limit the game to two cores, its cant handle 4, Its a mod for the game fallout 3. I am eagerly waiting for GalCiv3.... edit. after removing helmet game ran fine...even reverted to multiple cores.
Quoting Philly0381, reply 5 I wonder if this is the best we can do with our intelligence and technology. However, If I could get my PC [downstairs] to communicate with the coffee machine [upstairs] to make me a nice cappucino and bring it to me... well I wouldn't say no to that.
Quoting ElanaAhova, reply 11@Kona I would love to see all the tech in Next gen created. But for me, even more important is to see the positive changes in human nature and prevailing cultural norms presented in that show. Lets hope. If we had all of the Star Trek tech I'm pretty sure we could get rid of wars, hunger, famine, and disease.
I really hope you are correct. But what about
... The RTS game concept is compelling. It works as a single player experience and can be played as a multiplayer game. Gamers want these games. They’ll pay for these games. But they also have to be measurably superior than what’s already out on the market. To do that, the hardware has to catch up. The good news is that it’s almost ready.
What would you anticipate to be the minimum hardware / OS necessary
Wow, even the lawn mowers are going to attack now? (Stephen King reference). I grew up in the 50s/60s. I remember when fax machines were like a totally new thing. Cell phones not invented - land lines only. You do remember what a land line was, don't you? Well, before you knew it, people used robo callers to call every number in a listing, and, upon getting an answer, playing a taped message (real tape, not a digital recording). With this new fang
Quoting ElanaAhova, reply 181 Heavenfall, wish I had waited to get Endless space. So you already have it?
Yes, its a fine game. Has its pros and cons. I play it quite a bit. When I'm into sci-fi, its 2/3 Distant Worlds, and 1/3 Endless Space. Your experience? I'm anticipating GalCiv3
Yes indeed, companies can screw you all they want! But then they will not have many repeat customers. I do not see it as being that much impact. But I am surprised the 9th circus went along with it.
9th circus? Freudian slip? Did you short a circuit? :)
The data of over 100 MILLION people ??? As an IT "professional" I'm positively impressed. More of these types of events and people won't trust internet sites anymore... Those assholes. *flushing* my job down the toilet.
Flushing? Don't you mean *deleting* ?
I play both DW and endless space. Very different flavors.. both a good fun romp thru local space.
I have not looked at the specifics of the FCC and all the other interested parties related to the current fighting over control of the web. But historical patterns will probably hold, and human nature's push to nurture one's own interests even at the expense of everyone else's will continue. It is not in the interests of the corporatist oligarchy and its (mostly) hereditary ruling class to permit the unbridled discourse that currently occurs on the web. The mainstream media in the USA fulfill
They will never find any dyson spheres... because we are inside one, and the heavens and stars and galaxies we see are holographic projections embedded in the interior of the dyson sphere. The holograms are so advanced that they give readings of dark matters, red shift doplar affects, and other features making it impossible for observers to detect any differences. There is nothing else outside our dyson sphere. Does this really require proof? You can't disprove it. :) :) :)
Would you consider Shakespeare, or some of the Greek classics? These had their share of both heroes, and anti-heroes.
Three mile island... its friends back with a vengeance?
Birthing children in EWOM(reborn) and/or EH + . Balancing it for the game could be accomplished by linking children to 'titles' that entail specific responsibilities, authority, etc. Children/babies that don't have a working title can't act in the game. (They just wait their turn to ascend ..) I'm still thinking along the lines that Kingdom/empires need a better governing scheme. The capitol would really be the sovereign's court. And much of the ruling of other settlements needs to be base
ROFL. :)
The new wasteland looks a lot like Fallout 3, but with very different 'monsters.' I will wait and see about this one.
So true, Uval, and its another reason to use cash, and not debit/credit cards. All this electronic infrastructure just makes it way too easy for thieves to nail you from a distance. Taking your physical cash requires a more 'personal' touch, and seems a lot less likely to occur now. There was a time when credit card use meant special protections, return of defective products etc. Nowadays, all that seems moot.
Jafo. Like in Idiotocracy? ;)

I installed tutu, and fired up Baldur'sGate 1 using the BG2 engine. Works like a charm. BG@ 'kits' are showing and working in BG1. Cool. Another player here on this site suggested that the problems would only present when I have high level characters... and thats like 3 months away... lol. I will add the basic bugfixes designed to work with Tutu, and two content mods that don't change the quests, but make the NPCs a bit more talkative.
