So many wonderful sayings for units in these posts. Here are a few of mine. Warning, I have a warped sense of humor. "Its a good day to help our enemies die for their country." "Its a good day (for YOU) to die." "Meet my sharp pointy thing." UPGRADE: "Where did I put my sharp, pointy thing? Guess I'll use this instead!" "I'm your sovereign's worst nightmare - and you are NOT asleep." "You don't even make decent fertilizer

I've had rotten luck with this system, whenever i do marry off my children, their spouse inevitably dies so i get no grandchildren sigh.... I hear you. Whats even worse, I married off a daughter, once, and then the SOV declared war on me (or I him, I forget). Anyway, was i shocked, when i entered a tactical battle and saw my daughter taking the field against me. She was with the enemy forces, and i had to kill her to win the battle. The only th

Welcome to the wonderful world of elemental. BTW, the folks on the forums are also VERY helpful, not only with the game, but with PC issues, etc. And no flame wars... YEA! Great to have you part of the community. Check out whats going on in the mods area, too - lots of wonderful stuff, creative modders, etc. Again, welcome

Agree with all of the above. Two items of explanation that is implied, but not explicitly 'explained' in the above. 1) male children inherit the attributes of the father. female children inherit the attributes of the mother. (Their genetics operate differently than they do on Terra.) 2) When you marry off a daughter, she always goes to her husbands faction, and becomes a totally loyal member of it. When you marry off a son, he remains yours, AND his wif

Oh, I think the video showed us a great deal. Same lesson as the video Frogboy did on EWoM. He showed us how to attack and get slaughtered. Now thats candid honesty. And he show us something important that MOM and EWOM have in common: Attacking can get you killed. Is that the proof that EWoM is the successor of MOM?

Usually, there is a message that the baby has come of age - forget the exact wording. When they show up - usually in the capitol, like Dsraider says. Seems like "All my Children" soap opera is canceled this season? (Joke to lighten the pain of missing children....)

Lifesaving foot surgery? Yeah, I guess its possible, but of all the body parts they could have used... You can answer, "My foot!". Then duck. I thought something smelled 'funny.'

I havn't seen this bug in any of my games. But should it appear, my SOV would be in a complicated position since janusk is usually the npc my SOV marries.

Quoting Frogboy, reply 12 Well, based on my weight gain, I think I found your food. I knew it! The AI's been skimming my food ration and giving it to others. Thats why I've been finding so little. Someones been getting my ores as well. But I do appear to be getting more than my fair share of Shards. Someone must be getting shard shorted ;~p Ah, so the client side Impulse requirement is just a sneaky way for frogboy to steal our game assets and trans

"Humans, its whats for dinner," and "humans, the other red meat," prompts, for me, the ultimate question in this UFO forum. Since chickens are, presumably, indigenous to Sol 3, (Earth, Terra), and so "aliens" don't commonly eat chickens, what do aliens say humans taste like?

Wonderful ideas, wonderful to read. I have some suggestions related to shards and making each type of magic 'feel' different. First, the magic of each element should have many spells that don't duplicate other magic books/schools/shards. let healing / protection be mostly in only one school of magic. and introduce a concept of magically enhanced territory related to shards / shrines / etc. The idea here is that if a sov builds certain improvement on a sh

I love your suggestions for city defenses. bout the spiders, yes, many are trained by the bandits, etc. But I do wonder why spiders are the only critters that are small on Terra but giant size in Elemental. Spiders are not insects as they do not have just 6 legs. Beetles and ants have extremely large populations on terra (earth). Bot only spiders are in Elemental. Would it be interesting to deal with giant beetles? What about an ant colony near by, gi

Hi Doc, Thanks for the well wishes. The really sneaky thing about the "Nigerian scam migrated to marriage sites" is that they are using real names of real people. They take names of professionals (from linked in - or other professional sites), and masquerade as that person on the marriage / dating site. Seems this is a variation on the 'pretending to be from a reputable company' scam directed at the heart. Direct contact only happens when they "mo

Thank you for the extremely helpful info. May I add one other flavor of scam. Some 'people' on dating sites are actually scammers that suck you in, then play on your heart strings. It has happened to me twice now in the past six months: once on a generic site, and once on a Jewish site. The emails are generic, sometimes repeated. The phone calls are never responded to. Then, out of no where, I get a call, and he is desperately in need of money for his son's

Also, don't move into a space with unrecruited NPC(s) as this initiates combat. And your reputation will be marred causing all other npcs to cost more to hire.

Brad, have you had any issues with the hive collapse syndrome (where all/most of the bees die, disappear)? What kind of flowers, trees, are they gathering nectar from?

I definitely prefer an initiative based system with the ability to issue some 'conditional' orders. Details of this are posted in several other threads.

How about this interpretation: The hawk-like flying bird is the sole descendant of doves, adapted to the harsh world of elemental. So, the pioneer has a dove because pioneers create settlements, and so they also hope for a peaceful existence. Doves (sometimes) symbolize peace on terra.
