Hi all. I had a couple questions. 1) I've noticed that when the zone of control for a city expands it turns barren land into fertile land. I would like to stop this from happening, if possible. The motivation here is that sometimes when the zone of control expands enough it turns barren land fertile far enough away that a new city can be settled, and I would like to prevent that from happening without increasing the minimum distance between cities. </p

Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family Is that an on-board GFX card? I'd guess that's the problem if it is. The minimums for this game pretty clearly state you need a real GFX to play it. By "real" I mean a GFX card that is separate from your motherboard and is installed in a PCI slot or whatever.

I'm guessing Value in GameModifier is an integer? If not, can we do something like this? Or would we have to convert UnitGroupingType to an integer and assign values to troop levels? Unit &n

By the way, for the lurkers and passer-bys, put it at the end of CoreSpells, tested on custom sovs only, note that if you do a custom sov that has a blood that matches their allegiance (ie amarian with kingdom, krax with empire, etc) your custom sov will get whatever you set the stock sovs to: SummonSovChamp1 "> Summon Champion</DisplayN

Can I hijack the thread? If I put: Expansionist Civilized Builder towards the end of a custom sov xml file in my games/mods/units will the AI use those traits? Wou

If nothing else check the event viewer in control panel->administrative tools and google some errors.

This is a really good idea. If someone comes along and helps you I'll snatch up the code. I won't make them "zombies" per se, but I would implement the mechanic. =P

I play dense monster games on an epic pace. Backswing is incredibly useful. I can't speak for Axes once you get further into the tech tree, as I haven't played a game to completion yet, but they at least have a use early game. I haven't taken an axe to any units sporting heavy armor yet, so it could be totally useless at that point, I wouldn't know. Axes and Swords seem to be pretty even early game.

While you wait for 1.01, may I suggest you read a book? The Information Diet by Clay Johnson is a good one for any internet nerd.

1.01 Update: For whatever reason, setting DXAtlasWin.exe to run in Windows 2000 compatibility mode allowed the program to run without crashing. Once it ran once it seemed to fix the graphical glitches I was experiencing. It appears it only needs to run once to fix the graphical glitches, as turning off compatibility mode and rerunning the game resulted in the graphical glitches still not reappearing even though DXAtlasWin.exe crashed. EDIT

Awesome. Can't wait until people start uploading maps. I'll be all over it. Actually, I think I'll upload the map I've made sometime this weekend. I'll need to add quests first though, as I was playing without them and they seem to count as "objects" (I set the spawn no objects flag).

I've noticed that after creating and saving a map I have to reload the game, otherwise when I load it up using New Game a random map gets generated. Perhaps it's the same for saving and loading within the map maker? Generally, I never open more than one map without restarting the game first. If you want to reload a map you just made try restarting first.

Part of me just wants to make a boatload of stamps. I think the current map generator is a bit lacking to be honest. Regardless, the game is still new. I'm sure large compilations of stamps and custom units will pop up eventually. Probably not until the first couple updates have been release and the bugs have been ironed out though. Wasn't there an option in WoM to connect to a database of sorts and download custom maps, or am I making tha

Thank you Stardock for getting it right the second time around and the $10 discount. Thank you Stardock for offering all your games as a DRM-free direct download on your site so I can avoid that GameStop bullshit and keep a local copy on an external HD. Thank you for hiring Paxton. Shit, the nex

I could be mistaken, but I thought I heard people who bought WoM would get some kind of discount for FE? I loved the concept of WoM, and was severely disappointed to find I wasted (what I think was) $60 on it. Having said that, I'm thinking about giving Stardock another go, simply because I love the idea of mixing RPG elements into a strategy game (the games that have tried this before have all been kinda meh) and hey, at the end of the day they sure as shit aren&#3

I used 9999, 5000, 2500, and 1000 as the four highest tiers. That would explain why I didn't see the results I was expecting. I guess I can just chop the least significant digit off of each value.

1.3 Wishlist: 1) Buying items in the store automatically equips them. 2) Can "design" groups of items and then purchase/equip a group. Seriously, by end-game you're buying not only weapons and armor, but a shitload of accessories. Buying, then equipping each item separately is tedious enough for one champion, but for numerous it's simply torture. 3) Minimum distance between cities needs to be modifiable in an XML file. Preferably the minimum distance to

Thanks for the response. Is there a limit coded into WoM as to how high the AIPriority value can be, or is it just the highest value used by the data type?
