I agree about the PB AoE skills. For the sake of variety, I think "Ring of Fire" should be a spell you cast from a distance on a circular area (sort of like the blizzard spell). If nothing else, the casting time on the PB spells should be removed or significantly lowered, because having to stand still in the midst of enemies casting a spell is simply too dangerous most of the time unless you're just fighting creeps. Also, TB sounds like a psychotic muppet.
Sounds like some of you would have absolutely HATED the Sins of a Solar Empire beta. Demigod has been extremely straight forward compared to Sins of a Solar Empire. We were making major gameplay changes right into Gamma. Sins of a Solar Empire, as in, the game that won more game of the year awards this past year than any other game. Our beta process on our games is extremely rough. They are (as someone else
Really oughta be at least that many but at this rate there definitely won't be that many, at least not until considerable months after release.
Quoting Evanescent, reply 5 some people expected that the 2nd Beta would have actually been playable for them to do some sort of online testing of the gameplay and balancing. Then "some people" weren't paying attention. Beta 2 has always been about network connectivity. I really don't know how the developers could have been any more clear on the fact that gameplay and balancing will be done in Beta 3, not Beta 2.[/quote
I'm going to say it whether you want to hear it or not. Your expectations for the beta were too high. Just because it's a Beta doesn't mean the expectations are so low that the game can be impossible to play consistently with other players and nobody ought to be worried. Yes, it's a Beta, so hopefully with a bit more time things will shape up considerably.&
Very strange to see any game start out at $39.99 instead of $49.99. ~$50 seems to be the industry standard for any full release computer game.
This game has a map setup much like DotA, with creeps pushing through separate lanes towards an end goal - in this case the Citadel. A large part of DotA is pressure: gaining an advantage and pushing ahead to enemy towers by forcing opponents to retreat to their base. Another large part of DotA is resource and time management: deciding when to spend gold earned and choosing the most advantageous times to return to the base and buy items. Finally, a large part of DotA was knowing w

I noticed the stuttering late game as well. Also fully agree that there are way too many units in play. Felt that way to a large extent even before 2D, but especially now.
I tend to agree with much of this. What are your thoughts on how you would prefer it to be?
Fewer, stronger creeps. Citadel upgrades give you stronger troops / better troop types, but doesn't give you increased numbers. The starting amount of creeps is probably okay. It's as the game goes on that there's more and more that it's a problem. Having the stronger , larger units would help to make it
My main problem is especially towards the end of a game I feel like a spectator more than anything else, because there's so much crap flying / crawling around my screen it's rather difficult to do much about it. All I can hope to do is tell the minions to attack towers / Demigods and use AoE skills. Not a whole lot to it. I think probably the creep waves should only get stronger, not more numerous as the game goes on. This way there's much less clutter

As a melee Demigod Assassin if you're wading into a mass of enemies even as Rook your health starts to plummet pretty fast. However, it is possible that perhaps I just needed to buy more armor items? Rega
I'm not really sure how this can be remedied, but I've noticed that this game seems to be all about masses of units, especially later on in the game, when things get really cluttered. It gets so hectic that it's simply not possible to individually select enemies. It even becomes difficult to single out enemy Generals in their huddled mass of minions. There are no mechanics in place for players to get more out of their units, even as Generals. A great player isn't goi
How is this game like DotA? How is it different? What kind of game is this? Is it an RTS or an RPG?

Honestly I don't think the judging is being done by the actual game build we've got to play. While the game pace may seem slower than DotA, actual combat is much, much faster, to the point where things happen more quickly than you can really do a lot of meaningful adjustment. Creeps, for instance, die in fractions of seconds (unless they're simply fighting eachother). Demigod fights are somewhat better, but even being very careful you still get to low health very quickly, which is only helped by the fact that you can stack a bunch of potions (which takes a lot of risk fac
