The lack of Starcraft 2 is conspicuous. I really doubt it won't be out this year.

Thanks, but tbh you shouldn't have to do that in order to set the default camera pitch. Should just be an option. Nevertheless, I'll look into that for the time being. :)
I think the best way to put it is there ought to be a variety of spells with different cooldowns. Some spells ought to be practically spammable, while some should have a significant amount of time in between uses (as much as a couple minutes). This ensures that a variety of skills are used.
I sort of agree. If every skill had a long cooldown, then most of Demigod fighting would involve using auto attack, which is pretty boring. Ability-based combat is much more interesting. On the other hand, the lack of single "epic" spells is an important thing to note. Demigod would likely benefit from the inclusion of DotA-esque Ultimate Abilities. Those abilities encouraged planning ahead to set up situations where they could be used to the fullest effect (i.
Togglable options are fine. Also, I'm not asking to rotate the camera, I'm asking to change the angle of the camera. One is more aesthetic than anything, the other can be helpful for gameplay. Both should be possible, however. Since Edge Tracking is an option, my suggestion is that it should be ON by default.
Games are meant to be short. Players shouldn't have to be frantic micro managing in what is being dubbed as the "Counter-strike of RTS".
Frantic, no. But should they have to be actively engaged in the control of their Demigod / units at all times? Yes. In order to be really good at this game, you should have to be doing something at all times, making full use of y
Is there any chance that: a ) There could be a change so I could scroll across the map with my mouse instead of having to use directional keys? and b ) I could change the viewing angle? A lot of the time I feel like I'd prefer it to be a bit more overhead. Or maybe sometimes I want to go down to base level if I want to view on the game on a "cinematic" level (even if that is not useful for gameplay). Really
. To me what you are describing is just adding a bunch of micro management.
That's exactly why his ideas are good. Controlling the Generals is far too "sit back and watch things unfold" at the moment. It's boring, and doesn't require a whole lot of skill. Even Assassins could use a bit more finesse and fast thinking. In general I'd say the pace of the game seems pretty slow even
So is the "8 maximum" on the tooltip a bug, or is the fac that you're limited to 4 a bug? I'd say either make towers stronger or let The Rook have more of them.
Those are the settings I have been playing with. Mostly because they resemble DotA the most But ya these setting lead to the more depth kinda but I really like how the Devs allow us to change specifics of different categories. I think they should expand on this. In DotA all we have is Easy mode and regular mode where easy more gives you more gold and makes towers easier to kill and do less damage but nice to see what can speifically set
When I click on a unit I want to see all of its stats - HP / MP, damage, armor, stats, etc. You mentioned this for Demigods but I'd like this to be the case for all units / buildings.
I'd love to, but I highly doubt we'd be able to get that many people in a game...but we'll see. If I'm around then I'll give it a go but I probably won't have any luck connecting.
Not at all. We need to have citadel upgrades not be tied to gold, then we need to speed up the rate at which you can increase your war rank and get into the opponent's base. Then you slow down gold production and force players to make tougher decisions about how they're going to spend their gold. Game is faster, but gold is worth more because it's not as wildly inflated. :)
Sure. But what matters is the standard settings, because the standard settings are what will be used for competitive (ranked, recorded) games. I'm not really concerned about what I can do if I feel like playing a game for fun.

Function first, form second. As far as Diablo 3: While the rating may have been part of their art direction choi
Fair enough. There is something to be said for foreknowledge, but decision making and risk versus reward is paramount. Gold just has to become a lot more valuable (read: not as easy to amass) and then this item upgrades business would be a really big step in the right direction.
This is a fresh oppinion post of what I think of the game thus far. Items: - Heroes should spawn closer to the starting item shop on some maps. - Items should be a bit more specialized for tactical builds. Something like Orb effects in Dota might be good to look at. ie: item that ignores armor - smart players would buy this to counter gods like the Rook. item that burns mana, good against gods like torch bearer. <b
To use DotA as a comparison, a Butterfly is a great weapon, but only on certain heroes. In Demigod, getting the All-Father Ring is a safe bet on pretty much anyone. So...there needs to be some actual strategy in your item build, which is something we don't have a ton of right now.
That's a really good point.
Well, for one thing, you're meant to be able to have a lot of towers at once, but are limited to 3 due to a bug (I assume it's a bug). So that would help. But I've also noticed that the towers are a little lacking.
The skill "Power of the Tower" is supposed to increase to up to 8 towers at the max level (according to the skill description). However, it is impossible to build more than 3, as the 4th tower built will cause one of the previous towers to be destroyed.
It's kind of off topic, but I feel that Generals and Assassins should have different item sets.
Perhaps. But I think I'd rather see there simply be a much larger selection of items that allow you to customize your hero in different ways.
Making gold needs to mean something. Whenever I play, I feel like I'm making gold practically without even trying. This is another thing I felt DotA did better. Gold came more slowly meaning you had to manage when you bought things and what you bought. Players who managed to kill other players and get a lot of last hits on mobs had a very significant gold advantage on players who did not. This was one way that skilled players could distinguish themselves from les
Not on their own they won't, but they might help. I also think that making gold needs to be more difficult in order for itemization to mean anything. As it is you make gold pretty much without trying to.

They won't be able to use "well it's a beta" defence behind it either. If the release date isn't pushed back I don't see this game being polished enough or having a strong idea to ever be consistently played at a top level for a long period of time. You can say that the game isn't done yet but from these betas/engine tests we are getting a good glim
I think a good analogy is to look at how Blizzard decided upon the colour scheme for Diablo III. Originally they were going to go for a darker palette, but they discovered that with more colour its easier to tell what's going on due to the contrast and by adopting a crisper look. Graphical assets should communincate information well first, and look good second, imo, and atm I don't feel the Demigods are distinct enough from everything else to
