Yea, Erebus is really tiny.

[quote quoting="post"] Hey everyone again This is Mario Well as it stands now this game is based on increasing the strength of your creeps, so they can push hard enough to take down there citadel. I think everyone can agree with this statement. And as of now the best way to do this is by increasing your teams War Ranking so you can purchase the better creeps to siege there base. Right now this is the core of the game. I have heard talk of them implementing flags that would in

I have a feeling the developers think they are approximating DotA quite well, they just don't understand some of the aspects o
Way to pick a SC2 screenshot from wicked early in the development. Watch this video, narrated by SC2 lead developer and an ESport Announcer: http://www.starcraft2.com/features/battlereports/1.xml Here's a better SC2 screenshot: http://sclegacy.com/images/uploaded/starcraftiinews/ss105-hires.jpg Oh, and that Demigod screenshot is really cool. But how often do you think you'll be playing at that level of
[quote who="Arisal" reply="6" id="1985766"]I think that most people who have played Dota would agree that they do not want Demigod to be exactly like Dota and have all the same stuff because if thats the case were just gona go play dota. Demigod has the chance to really bring new strategic value and differences that will set it appart. I think that as long as each demigod has many possible ways to play them, and the items get fleshed out, it will be fantastic. A game like th
Well, I agree with you about newer graphics, but you're missing my point. DotA is more entertaining to watch than Demigod because it's clearer what's going on, and it's also more colorful (I'm not sure how you could argue that point...the WC3 engine is simply more vibrant - Demigod is in fact rather dulled in terms of colors, I'm not sure why). Again, it comes down to unit silhouettes and what not. Take a look at a screenshot of Starcraft 2 and then play Demigod. The
I've noticed this as well.
I'm aware of why ES was shut down. The point is, though, they aren't a huge studio, and AoE3, while popular, did not and does not have a very large following. Certainly not greater than a game like DoW or even SupCom. In any case, this is all a rather massive tangent. My original point still stands: in the current direction the game seems to be headed, it will not have enough depth as a competitive game, nor will it be particularly entertaining to watc
The cast time for the potion is not very long. Besides, even with a longer cast time they would still probably produce the same issues with the early game. Potions should either be life-savers that you can only use every so often, or they should be first aid kits for when you get beaten up and bruised, but only usable outside of battle. They should still probably have a decent cooldown, so somebody can't repeatedly bring themselves up to full life after bein
If they can be interrupted, they are too difficult to interrupt, because I've had little to no trouble using them in battle. My points still stand.
Pretty much all of my posts are [Suggestion] but I'll remember that, and do that with my posts in the future. I just noticed when I was playing that there are numbers next to the skills but I didn't put 2 and 2 together that those were the hotkeys. Once again, I guess the point of my post now is that the hotkeys for the skills ought to be made more obvious (being in the tooltip would be great.
[quote who="MaRiO-" reply="13" id="1985297"] Quoting DeadMG, reply 12The only major criticism I have is that virtually every example mechanic you've given is slippery slope, i.e. the losing team loses, rather than trying to balance out the teams to prolong gameplay and make it a more entertaining game. Not sure what you mean when you say the losing team loses And a Side note this game really is not like dota at all.. Its more like Hero Wars (a different WC3 mode). It is a
Fair enough, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to do it anyway. Options ftw! :)
Hm. I think I'd prefer alt. But I'm sure you can change key bindings. My other points still stand.

Okay, I read your whole post and agree with all of it. I'd like to see Generals be more like the Holy Knight or the Prophet from DotA. Command a few small but strong creeps or summon a fair amount of weaker creeps to push a tower, with useful support abilities.
We need them. DotA style. I don't know if these have been planned and just aren't in yet (I imagine this is the case) but they really added a lot of depth to DotA and they'd be great in this game.
I'd rather see Torchbearer have stuff like Roots and Disarms / Silences as opposed to stuns.
[quote who="MaRiO-" reply="9" id="1985194"]Your definately right on the players have no direct impact on the game at all. And I agree with you that heros are the most powerful aspect of the game, but even if your hero was 1000 times stronger all i need to do is upgrade my creeps and get catapults and I would win the game. The entire early game is pretty much meaningless. If your up against competitivev players the only two things they would buy would be mass potions and creep upgrades. With a
Holy crap wall of text. Would you mind breaking it up a little bit? My eyes hurt. p.s. not trying to be offensive, but seriously I'd like to read your post but it's a little tough at the moment.

I agree with you, and I also think that there main concern should be making sure the game has the depth needed for skilled players to distinguish themselves. In other words, they need to make sure this game will be competitive, not just casual fun (but still casual fun for those that just want that, obviously).
