Strange posts around these parts lately.
Yeah, it's like people finally got sick of complaining about the game so they're fixating on the incredibly silly: "I HAZ KITTENZ!" "Hey, anybody here know girls who play Demigod? I'd like to talk to some weird guys pretending to be female!"
There's no reliable matchmaking service, there's no ranking system displayed in game, statistics recording is unreliable.... Should I go on for reasons why it's going to be hard for this game to be "competitive" in the sense that most RTS are competitive nowadays? Stats should be fixed very soon (apparently.) and so should the matchmaking. But really, how much of this did DotA

There's no reliable matchmaking service, there's no ranking system displayed in game, statistics recording is unreliable.... Should I go on for reasons why it's going to be hard for this game to be "competitive" in the sense that most RTS are competitive nowadays? Those problems will probably be taken care of at some point, but how knows how many people will still be playing at that point?
^Yeah those aren't established RTS games or anything at all... Most RTS games that start out from scratch like not an expasion or second game have under 2k all the time.
I say it's really low because AoEIII did not have a very large community and it still had a lot more people online than that. Unless those numbers are terribly misleading - and to be fair it sounds like they may be - I think it's saf
I see the numbers online vary from 300ish to 800ish at one time. Is this very low, high or okayish? RTS's I came from never had huge numbers in the first place (EaW, CCG, AoK etc.)
That's really low, even if it's just people in games / lobbies. AoEIII usually had between 2k and 4k online at any given time unless it was late at night, when there were more like 1000-1500.

Don't remove the items, just unlock them for everyone so we don't have to grind for favor to purchase them and it's a level playing field. That way they can actually add to the depth of the game. Oh and balance them all so they're equally powerful.
I think this is the best solution. Balance them all to be useful and then unlock them all.

It definitely sounds like a problem in theory, but I'd want to see somebody try to execute it in real life before I deemed it worthy of a change. Stun locking and snare stacking were obvious problems in late Beta because everybody was abusing them. Therefore, they were changed. Regulus Snipe stacking sounds terrifying in theory, but I'm not sure anybody has really conclusively demonstrated it in practice with an organized team. Therefore, it hasn't been changed
Like I said in another thread. Premades should only play with premades, or nobody plays as a premade.
Precisely. This is how it is done in WC3, and that is the ideal. Have a separate matchmaking system for premades. It's unfair for pub teams to go against premades, it always causes problems regardless of what game you're playing.

I agree that towers should give some exp. They have tower-killing abilities and builds built into the game, so why penalize somebody who focuses on killing buildings instead of enemy players? It makes no sense. If you spend most of the game dismantling the enemy's defenses, you shouldn't be stuck 5 levels lower than everybody else.

I leave when the teams become uneven or it's obvious that one team is going to win. I don't see any need to stick around and play the role of the loser for the sake of the winning team.

I think UB Ooze should have the duration double while keeping the overall damage the same, meaning that the damage per second is halved. Rook probably could use some love, but like Innociv I'm not sure because I think I have yet to see a really good player use Rook in the new build. Oak seems a little too strong to me, maybe reduce his base weapon damage some, because he has good damaging abilities, good hp, and hits like a truck. He doesn't need a significant nerfing, b

I've yet to encounter a OP-seeming Erebus player, but I agree about Ooze. For a melee-oriented Demigod, UB has a very strong ranged DoT that makes harassing far too easy for him early on. Cutting it in half or doubling the duration but keeping the overall damage the same (halving the damage per second) would seem to make the most sense. I also agree that Rook seems a little weak. The thing is, he used to be really OP but now that other Demigods have been buffed and s
Yep, it seems the court ruled that their intent was to help illegally distribute copyrighted works and sentenced each of the four to 1 year in prison and a $905k fine.
