Yeah, no nerfs to anything Erebus-related please. He's not great. In terms of balance issues, it perhaps is not pertinent to refer to specifics from DotA. However, I think it is valid to mention that something which took a great deal of resources to acquire in DotA, which is a very similar game though not a mirror image (please don't dispute that they are similar, it makes you sound silly), can be acquired for free in Demigod. Especially when it's obvi

Not every ability or spell can be a direct strike... that would give The TorchBearer too much of an advantage.
Oh, I agree, the TB doesn't need another direct strike skill. In fact, when I go fire as a TB I often feel frustrated by the lack of any kind of secondary effects on my abilities. However, I still believe that CoF is
How would it not? It's a target AoE. Besides a delay before hitting.. I guess it'd be neat if it had the delay with the marker like Diablo2, but then it'd be an obvious ripoff. :/
Okay, well, Rain of Ice is essentially a direct damage circular area of effect spell that can be cast at range with no casting time. Meteor (a la Diablo 2) is a circular area of effect spell that can be cast at ra

This has happened to me often lately, and it's pretty annoying: I host a game, and I'm waiting for people to join, so I alt+esc out of the game, go check out something in the web browser, talk on AIM, whatever. Then when I click on Demigod on the taskbar to go see if anybody's joined my game, I get a notice that the game has crashed and I have to ctrl+alt+dlt it (task manager).
I'd rather have double the skills(unique skills, not more levels of the same skill. FFFFFFFFFFFFffffffff levels of a skill doesn't count as a seperate skill ) per Demigod than double the Demigods. :/
That's not a bad point. Eight demigods only feels like so few at the moment because most of them are rather one dimensional with the small, straightforward skillset they have.

Well, if it were Meteor like in Diablo 2, it wouldn't at all be like Rain of Ice. I think the best idea and the most reasonable one given proximity to release is just making it a ranged cast (like Rain of Ice) and upping the radius. At the very least they need to make it something other than PBAoE with a small radius, because TB already has a spell like that which is far better.

I disagree in that Generals don't seem useless and squishy to me. They do, however, generally seem rather bland. They're generally hard to kill enemies with okay stats and a lot of passive / support abilities. Their minions are nothing but creeps with better stats and a facelift. Erebus, I think, is the exception. He does seem pretty interesting to me, probably the most unique out of any of the Demigods, actually. I look at Oak, QoT, and Sed

I agree, we ought to be able to at least see what's going on and chat with our allies while we're dead so we can plan for what to do next while we're waiting to respawn, or at least type "All: Totally worth it." or "All: Nice one. Next time it'll be you" or something like that. :)

Hrm, didn't see one. A meteor wouldn't be a bad idea, especially if it were like the meteor spell from Diablo 2. Whatever the case may be, something has to change with it.

Unless I'm completely missing something, whenever I go fire as Torchbearer I find that putting points in Circle of Fire is a waste. It's essentially a DoT that only takes effect in a very small area, and the TB has to actually get next to something and spend casting time just to get the DoT going. Also, this is the second PBAoE spell in the fire TB's reportoir, and since it's much weaker than the other it feels a little redundant. I'd like to see the radius on this greatly
Okay, so they shouldn't add more heroes just because DotA has a lot? Yeah, that makes sense. Variety is good. I certainly agree that 100 is beyond superfluous. Only having 8 Demigods, however, is too few, especially when those 8 are for the most part fairly archetypal. Only

I can't speak for everyone else, but I can speak for myself. I'm not bothered in the slightest by the criticism, constructive criticism is a great thing. Sorry, but micro and tactics are what make a game competitive. Anybody can study a strategy and learn it, memorize it. Turn based games give you all the time in the world to make decisions. RTS games force you to make decisions quickly, far more quickly than you can possib

DotA does have plenty to memorize, it's true, and that is a large part of being good at it. But simply knowing things, like kn
No, not all games are based on experience. If you have a good sense for strategy you can play games pretty good the first time you load up one game. Total war has extremely quick based battées, with enormous scales, which starcraft fans would hardly be able to handle.
DalzK" reply="8" id="2099829"]Why dont DotA fanboys wait 5 years than comeback?
Answer: because there's no reason the game can't be just as good or almost as good NOW. It's not that far off, really, it just needs some tweaking, some added features or number balancing, perhaps some skill changes, a few more Demigods with more varied skillsets, and things could change dramatically. Waiting 5 years is not at all necessary.
