They could divide XP by the square-root of the number of champs, not by the actual number of champs, which I think is what they do now. Then with 2 champs each gets about 71%, with 3 each get about 58%, with 4 each gets 50%, etc. The total experience gained goes up as the number of champs goes up, which I think is realistic. Agree that 4 items per champ is low.

Works for me (although not top priority)
I don't like the limit. I'd be fine with no limit except scarcity &/or price of really worthwhile items. I think strong champs are the whole point of this genre, and they have over-nerfed them in beta-2 with the item-limit and the XP changes.
And on my system both kinds of magic bolt shoot in from the left side of the screen instead of coming from my unit. Anybody else ?
I think it was on-next-turn. Hadn't been playing long since last clean load -- usually I get farther before things get corrupted. crash zip http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8928343/FallenEnchantress0_86-2012-03-02T20-23-41-781.zip debug.err http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8928343/debug-no-reason.err
Seen them off in the ocean too.
You need to clean up your positioning algorithm a little.
yes
Quick note: one of the E:WoM extra characters from the book content could handle two weapons. Worked fine.
But the challenge is making sure those threads are messing with each other’s data at the same time.
That explains A LOT :) read carefully
I liked Bahgtru & Gunthor with axes. Brax I can live without.
FWIW, I'm like capturing 2nds & 3rds of these buildings, and I could live with or without being able to build my own after I have captured one. But clearing the building queue when a city is taken makes sense whether it is building something special or just a slave pen. Haven't seen what Svaca33 reports.
Agree
I couldn't get him (?) with anything except "storm" spell, to lightning him to death, very, very slowly. I assume it deliberate most normal attacks can't get to him, but your autoresolve results do sound like a bug.

Is the impassible gate a bug or do I need to do something else?
I've seen it in both .86 campaigns. Per Publius, I guess I won't drive myself crazy trying to break in.
A few issues 1: In my current campaign, several turns ago I had two of those quest open (Abeix and the city that gives the spell that give tons of hit points) plus one other quest. Now both the green-border quests are gone and I only have the other one. But the quests are NOT completed. The green borders still remain on both territories. I haven't even gone into Abeix's land, but the control-U emergency cheat (special just to verify before postin
Don't give up. They work on crash reports even if they don't respond to them in the forums. I'm in a special position to confirm this because of a post by FB early in the beta with video & sound showing what they do with crash reports and explaining how important they are. The report he was working on was from me, but as best I recall they never replied to my crash-report post.
Strange. I'm NOT having any bear/maul problem in .78 or .86. What's different ?

But there are still times where you might want to use a special non-upgrade design. Besides the weight mentioned above, the top-level magic weapons & armor take so much crystal that you might not have enough and will have to train 2nd-best equipment or train nothing at all. And I think there are some dubious choices in the sequence where the 2nd best weapon might be better in some way than the "best" auto-upgrade one.
The food spell is "gentle rain". Takes Air & Water (unsurprisingly). Need level 2 or 3 of each, I forget.
I like the concept but it's a lame building at the moment - it's a per faction building available mid-game that takes a long time to build and costs maintenance. In return it gives champs xp so slowly that it's actually irrelevant at that point in the game. Additionally, the champ needs to sit in the city doing nothing to benefit from it so you are also foregoing the use of the champ too. Currently you could dump 6 governors in it and it
I must also be doing something "wrong". I go for a few big cities with level 4 & 5 bonus buildings and food works about right. I research food early on and keep barely ahead of demand, with "gentle rain" as a fallback in case of shortages. Current system works ok for me. I'm ok with current system.
