Doesn't seem to work. Setting it faster than normal doesn't seem to change anything, and then when I go back to the options screen, it is "normal" again.
Especially like #1
If the AI has you penned in like that, it ought to have more cities, more research, resources, everything, and the ability to found more cities and accelerate the gap. If it can't finish you off now, it ought to be able to in 100 turns or so, whether by magic or just by storming with an improved army. If it still can't something else is wrong, like its research choices or inability to upgrade its troops. I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about how
Cut down on strategic mobility too much and the game slows to a crawl. Agree that currently tactical mobility make ranged weapons pretty useless, and that there is room for a fix, but even that could be overdone, making tactical battles too slow also.
As long as we don't have MP, I can just voluntarily refrain from pushing exploits like that. Mostly. Promise. But if there is a silly island I can't get to, or a peninsula that can only be gotten to by going miles thru unexplored territory even though I can see it from my house... it's landbridge time.
I've seen resources disappear too. Definitely something flaky going on.
Today .77 seems to act differently than before. My champ with maul often gets 3 hits now (when/if he finds something that can survive the 1st two, at least :) Until today I never saw more than two hits in .77. Remember how earlier versions let you get in 7 or 8 hits and there were discussions about how .77 might have over-nerfed it? Any chance they were listening and sneaked a fix into the stuff that gets downloaded when the game starts ? Not complaini
I've won by conquest and by alliance and at difficulty levels up to "hard" and always rated as "Janusk". I don't *think* I was playing that badly :) Think it needs work. But generally I really like the idea of a top-score list. Properly implemented it can keep me coming back to a game over & over to see if I can beat my all-time best. (My best with MoM was was more than a decade after it came out, and I got one in the top 10 just a few weeks
Not entirely true about the MOM tactical battles. The bumps/hills would slow down non-flying units moving across them. Roads in the tactical battle would also allow for extra movement(cost 1/2 movemement point on roads), plus city walls, that force non-flying units to have to fight their way in to the city, or use spells/specific units to take out the walls. Wall of Darkness could also be used, to prevent ranged units from shooting over the

Disagree on #2. I like the traits with numbers, and I like their potential more if they get the right tweaks. They keep a character's total number of traits down to manageable number. They could also help make heroes more unique if they bias the level-up options towards offering a hero more of a trait he already has, and maybe bias it slightly against offering the first step of a trait to any of your other heroes once one has it. Then you end up with initiative spe
Agree. There should be a destroy option in the list of improvement for a city.
Yes, I had the arena tech. That could be it. Thanks, and I'll avoid it and/or go out of my way to test specifically for it next time.
.77 behaves like you want on my system, EXCEPT that if I load a game within the game it acts like you describe. To get it to behave, to have to exit and load clean. Anyway, they said recently in another thread that caravans are going away.

Changed my mind. Popups might be ok, but the first thing I would do is add a line saying the queue is empty to the building notification we already get. Next, implement some keys that go forward/backward thru all the idle cities we have. Either way, think carefully abo

Hard is pretty hard, but a LOT depends on your starting position. I've one twice when I had unusually good starting positions, but gotten stomped early 3 times with more normal starts. Try counting goods things in sight at the start before you move or build a city. +1 for each resource; +1 for each hireable champion of your alignment; +1 if there is a forest in sight, and +1 if there is a river. I've seen starts as poor as 2 and as good as 9, with 3 or 4 bein
Lots of room. It was early and all I had was the sovie and 1 champ. But it gets better; much later in the same campaign, when I took Resolyn's last city and eliminated them, that city build a unit on that turn that ducked the battle and sat outside after the faction was eliminated :)
I perfer my games to be hard copies thank you very much.
Agree (except for the spelling). Stardock downloads seem to be the next best thing.
There's an option that automaticaly garrison your newly created units.
That's what I was referring to in the OP. But I turned it on for a while and my next new unit appeared outside my city too, so not sure if it works in this game (it did in GalCiv 2)
I don't mind multiple stacks on the same square, for instance if one is garrisoning and the others are in transit. But I wish the could fight as one. When/if the engine can handle it I'd rather fight 1 big battle than several small ones. And this goes back even farther than WoM, Galciv 2 was the same.
