Or, at least default to having the missle troops move first. When I am trying to soften up the foe with missile fire, it's a pain when it comes back to my sovie every time someone else shoots their last arrow (sovie has a sword).

On my machine, there are 3 things wrong with the attached save game. 1: Next to the city of Polapel, stand the old king & his two brats. They were there when I conquered it, and have been standing there ever since. Right after I took the place I tried to attack him but it wouldn't let me -- thats the issue. Page 7 says "an army may contain up to 7 units". Page 19 says "by default, no more than 10 units may be part of a given army". I think 10 is correct, because I had at least 10 in my previous game (sovie & a bunch of champions, in case it matters). Page 23 still has a chart at the bottom that belongs in another section. ps it's sitting in the program folder

Makes a big difference in appearance. Too soon yet to tell about stability or performance. Note, I didn't JUST uninstall. I have another thread about that https://forums.elementalgame.com/389941 but as long as they permit multi-packs, they ought to work, and they do, with organized sovies and non-organized lone champions, just not with my organized princess. Or, if you buy your packs at Sam's Club, require a minimum of 6 :)

Haven't checked if this is still true in .98, but in the prior version you could equip a bow and a shield, but then you couldn't shot the bow. Nasty surprise going into combat. Anyway, I'd vote for a system of 1-or-2 handed weapons, with shields permitted only with the 1-handed ones. Bows should be (consistently) 2-handed. Ideally some 1-hand weapons would permit one in each hand, but that's not a biggie to me.

Also, how many of dev's machines have the game installed to non-default locations? I always keep games in a \games folder to keep them separate from non-game program files. I moved "my documents" out from under "documents & settings" to keep the important stuff separate & easier to back up from all the sludge Micro$oft keeps under documents & settings. I wouldn't be surprised if they have already decided on some major rebalancing, but here's my 2 cents.... 1: I can understand why heroes get to carry lots of amulets & rings, at least if you have lots of pockets and get creative about all the places you can wear rings (that's earrings -- get you mind out of the gutter). 2: But multiple packs seen inintuitive -- too large, heavy, etc. Why not limit each hero to just one? My sovie is "organized" and it works like a charm, dragging tons of heroes around at about 12 squares per turn (lots of rangers packs, etc) Now I have an "organized" princess too, and there are two issues 1: Description of her ability still refers to "sovereign". 2: It doesn't seem to work, or at least doesn't work with Ranger's packs. Was trying to use them to get to a minor city that was completely blocked-off from normal access by ocean & mountains. Lowed several mountain squares and raised ocean, trying to blast a path to the city. 1st, it seems WAY overpowered for the price. Nukes buildings, changes terrain and kills monsters, over a wide area, and costs only 1. The raise/lower land spells cost more to hit just one square. 1. They seem slow-paced. Arrows fly slowly. The wind-up animations for shooting & casting spells take a little too long, etc. That's my main beef, but while I am here... 2: Arrows sometime fly off in the wrong direction (but still hit) 3: It's a bit hard to aim arrows now.
