Maybe starting the tree with beowulf-like stuff, THEN ending just before the Industrial and Scientific revolutions.

Well, with the moddability of these games, that could easily be done, if not by you then by me.....
Ursinophile. I'll have to remember that one.
Pretend to text on an imaginary cell phone. Sort of hide it, but be sure that they can see it if they are looking (near your leg works well). When they call you out, deny it. Of course, you won't actually have been texting, so they will look like an idiot. When they are done, go back to fake-texting. Just be sure you don't have a REAL cell phone anywhere on your body!!!
This brings back my idea of a closed-loop system: you can store essence in yourself or artifacts, and move it (often by force) between channelers, but whenever you add up the total amount of essence in the game, you always get the same amount.
But will the tech trees between nations be greatly diversified, or will all humans share tech tree, and all Fallen share theirs? I don't remember if there's been a comment on that.
I know that Stardock has the capability to make multiple tech trees, so the only question is time. From my modding of GC2, I can tell you that tech trees take a LOT longer to make than you would expect, especially if you plan them out beforehand, which is pretty important to getting good bala
Yeah, considering the way the game looks, I think it will stop before the development of germ theory, at the very latest. The road-building thing makes sense, but will we have to discover plumbing? Should the tree even include plumbing? Why an I so obsessed with plumbing? Plumbing plumbing plumbing plumbing.......[e digicons]:dur:[/e] In any event, I don't want to see gunpowder-based projectile weapons. Now, something like Chinese rockets might be cool... also, should alchemy be on th
Has anyone else tried to change their avatar since the wierdness started? It shows up on the upload avatar page, and on my profile, but not when I post.

Well, from my understanding, a lot of the Roman technology (plumbing, for example) was lost during the dark ages, so I'm not entirely sure which you mean.
Stupid lag...... thought the forums ate my first post....... aaaaaah well....
According to Brad's podcast from a while back, Elemental is going to have two tech trees: one for magic, and one for "conventional" technology like forges, siege engines, mining, etc. The question is, what technology should be on the conventional tree: at what period in technological development should the tree start, and at what peroid should it stop? I for one do NOT want to have my empire building power grids and racing with the Fallen to split the atom, but then again, I don't want to hav
Well, in the finished game, if you zoom out far enough, the map turns from the watercolor-like realistic image to something that looks more like an actual map, with lines for roads, dots for cities and towns, and so on. (It's shown in some of the screenshots: <img src="https://www.elementalgame.com/Screenshots/Kingdom_Worker_Cloth_1280.jpg" alt="Cloth Map 2" wid

Well, if you can model it, I bet people will use it... Although I for one am not into THAT sort of thing.

Well, where there are in-game graphics editors and teenage players, the possibities are endless.
It looks like me and the other PABC members have our work cut out for us, now that we know where to lobby..... ahh well, I've got time for it, now that shool is out. I am soooooooo glad that I don't have to put up with the texty girl anymore!!!!!!! [e digicons][/e]
Looks good.
So why complicate the plumbing?
Because a lot of people think tactical battles are fun. It all comes down to my balance of complexity:
If a game is too complected, the players get headaches, which are not fun. If it is not complecated enough, the players get Pong, which is not fun. If you can avoid both headaches and Pong, you have a good game.
The problem is, one player's headache is another player's Pong, so devs need to be careful: henc

Yes, and the time-loop is essentially self-sustaining: as long as it exists, it makes sense. To start it, you need a power that can move freely through time...... hmmmmmmmmm...... sound familliar....
