Yeah, a lot of this stuff would not work well in multi-player, especially online: you would have to vote or whatever on which option you wanted, which would be a big headache: LAN and other systems where you could actually talk to the others face-to-face woudln't be as bad, but..... if the battle do-over option is implimented, how should that work? My initial thought is that you get a re-match only if both fighters agree. However, I suppose some argument could be made for it happening

Banned for hitting Ronshouse. Why would you want to hit a house, anyway.
4. Hordes: Hmmmm Sounds like "hordes" are what the survivors are in this game. They live in small tribes, some more barbaric than others (hunters/gatherers, some may still retain the art of farming if land allows some even if small), and they may be attracked by the security offered by the Channeler. Some of them may be able to unite themselves for a short period of time in case of a common threat or easy raid target.
Remember: You will grow your city mainly by attracti
Actually, I did not include refight-if-you-win becuase I thought nobody would want it. With this response, it seems like it would be a good idea.
new fresh view point is always as welcome as a more seasoned one. And beta is like... for everyone who preordered? You are not obligued to beta test. You could just play and try to have fun. If along the way you would be so kind as to report bugs and things like that, even better. In any case, no one forces you to download the beta and try it, so don't worry.
Ok, that's it. I'm pre-ordering right now.

Surfing the forums, what does it look like?
Looks good, but one thing I mentioned before was the ability to re-fight an auto battle in stactical mode if you lose.
Meteor-forged-into-sword is such a huge cliché, it just has to be done.
I agree. I'm not entirely sure there should BE meteors in pure fantasy settings: I would rather have a geocentric view of the world with an actual spirit plane as opposed to space.
One thing I was thinking us is that essence recharges, but you can only hold a certain amount at once: levelling up or completing quests can increase your essence CAPACITY. Also, it doesn't just trickle in naturally: you have to WORK to get more.
You are now entitled to my opinion. I like the channeler-free game idea, sort of what I talked about as the ideal situation in my poll.
Well, I'm still not entirely sure if I WANT to be on the alpha and betas: GC1 was my first ever strategy game, and I only dug it out of my basement about a year ago..... I actually don't know how it got there, I certainly didn't buy it, and both my parents hate computer games and computers in general.....
I think their problem was that they didn't know what to do with the steam. In any event, water power does seem like a good stopping place for machinery. Medicine, on the other hand..... as I said before, I don't want evolution or germ theory, but maybe hederity and selective breeding/seeding, and some basic herbalism. Or should that go on the magic tree?
I see. I was referring to Darkodimplus. Thanks anyway...
Steam power? Or just water power?
Yeah, and it actually sparked a bit of contention with the MP crowd...
Now, please don't take this the wrong way. I'm honestly not trying to be antagonistic, but please mention one steampunk fantasy computer game aside from Arcanum and that failed RTS I can't even remember the name of.
Depends on how youdefine Steampunk. Most fantasy games now have some steampunk elements in them, but the rest of the game is pure fantasy.
Banned because you broke my streak.
So, in essence (no pun intended!): finite levels, with a carrot at the end.
Kay, now it's working...... that was wierd.
OK, that's wierd. Looks like everone can see it BUT me on my replies. This is what I see: Apparantly, it shows up for everyone else..... I'm gonna mess around with it.
Banned for increasing the butt fancier count while decrying it.
The levelling-up idea does not sound like it would work for one simple reason: there are a finite amount of levels, and just saying that there should not be a level limit doesn't fix the fact that you need to essentially hard-code the stat increases of a level-up, so it is impossible to have infinite levels. Besides, with a level curve, the amount of kills or whatever rapidly approaches the rediculous.
they look very much the same....but i would say the old one.
'scuse me? Are we even seeing the same thing??? Does it have a black background? Or does it have a clear background and a glowing border? Can you post a picture of it?
