I for one like squares a bit better for fantasy. Hexes always looked somehow.... high-tech to me.

But, there's the problem of how to make the MAD mutual. Plain old AD may be fun, but it makes for a VERY short game...... maybe have something similar to the real nuke, where you start out only able to cast one or two of them at a time at first, tyhen as the spell grows in popularity it becomes easier...... To prevent derailing this thread, I'm probably going to move the MMAD discussion into another post pretty soon.
Actually, I know that fat thing. It's in my public speaking class.... sits in the back row and continually gropes this random girl.... sometimes it goes to the "bathroom" and stays in there for half an hour, then comes back smelling like burning leaves.....
Ugggghhhhh. Caffine..... can't stand the stuff. Even the smell of coffee gives me a headache....... [e digicons][/e]
Yeah, I enjoy pushing the limits. Especially when there are cheats [e digicons]}:)[/e] . I am also one of the youngest posters on the site who actually contributes (I'm 15, but I think Szadowsz is 14), and I have a good (but not great) laptop computer.
Oh and be sure and put in the lycanthrope ability. I could always stomp MOM with that spell. Nothing like an army of werewolves that the entire pack regens as long as there is ONE left and he only has 1 hit point left. lol That was a bit overpowered I think but a lot of fun to march around the map with stomping everything in sight except maybe those Blue Skydrakes gawd I hated those things.
Now THERE'S an essence spell!

Yeah, I like the idea of power struggles to develop super-advanced spells. One thing that springs immediately to mind would be an instant city-razing spell....... or even long-range channeler kill spells.
I don't want them building Aroura units, either!! [e digicons]:P[/e]
They also called it an imp. I wonder if this is going to be one of the magical creatures you can ally with, or something else entirely?
Mother Brain existed in the original Metroid: Samus disabled it, then much later the Pirates were able to repair it (or maybe it repaired itself), and it reappeared in Super Metroid. The Aroura units appeared before it was "reborn", but not before it was first encountered by the Federation. I say it was created by the Chozo for two(or three, depending on how you look at it) reasons: It is listed as a Chozo construct on the wiki. It's very advanced (located at the CORE

Of course.
I really don't see how the Aurora units messed up the plot personally. I took it as the Federation decided to make their own biological brain type entity to counter the Space Pirates' Mother Brain. What screwed MP3 up for me was Dark Samus had survived, you had to kill all the other cool Hunters they introduced, and they made the Space Pirates a bunch of push overs. Still a pretty good game though I would give it an 8.3 of 10.
They didn't mess with the plot of the GAME
Evil: yes. Lucky: yes. Genius: absolutely not. Looks like a classic situation where everything plays into their hands, then they take the credit.
Banned for having rotten insides.
But not unreasonbly, and it would come back.
(like having a mother brain rip-off in metroid prime 3 is stupid and they should not have done it. They should have just had it be the mother brain, because then nobody would have asked 'why' or anything and all plot holes would be filled by "because its the mother brain")
Hey, another Metroid fan! Do you happen to have GC2:TA? I'm in the process of making a Metroid mod for it...... and yeah, the Auroura Unit screwed up a lot of the backstory (and most of the "fronstor

Yes, somthing that keeps us from casting spells would be a HUUUUUGE disappointment in my eyes: all those animations are going to go to waste. Maybe certain spells will require you to have X amount of essance, but not actually reduce your amount when used.
And we won't get a tech tree. It'll be called "Development lines".
Will it just be a tech tree by another name, or will we actually have numerous "lines" of techs?
Not entirely sure if this is going to happen. Would be cool, though...... I'm all for "swappability". Of course, we might also want to keep things to some degree simplified, for those of us who cannot actually program, as well as for new modders.
