I actually think that the Borg were based off of Red-Scare perceptions of Communism: an inexorable for that spreads their way of life to other (unwilling) people & nations, they are all part of one group that has no room for the individual...

The problem with the tactical map being a zoomed-in square is that each square on the overworld map only has one terrein "identity": plains, hills, etc. A blow up would just be a homogenous square.

I don't think there is much of a chance of a flame-war if I post mine, so here it is: Rank each modding system from most to least favorite: Files in Python or some other true coding language. Internal editors (accessible in game or from game menu) External editors (accessible from autolaunch or start menu) Text-based, but not actual code. Similar to Civ4 or GC2.

Yeah, I agree wholeheartedly: an actual terrein-based tactical map would be great. It would also be a LOT of work on the dves part to get it running.

I would actually like to see the lore manual published as an actual book: I'd buy it. I would also like to see it appear either on the web site or as a PDF with the game.

Depends on what you mean by terrein: we will likely get some kind of terrein bonus for specific units and trainings, but I think the actual map you battle on is going to be more or less homogenous (see above).

Not being a fencing expert, I have no idea if a scythe would actually make a god weapon, but I actually think it might be interesting to try: looks like it would be easy to avoid somebody's gaurd, especially if both ends were sharp.

Makes sense. But, then again, people create new things all the time: in the Middle Ages, no-one could have ever considered the idea of communism, etc. The moment we create an idea, it becomes human. Beofre then, it was not. Therefore, even if someone comes up with an alien culture completely different from our own, it would still be human because humans made it. My head hurts.

I see. So, Sauron was both the center of power and the center of gravity. Gandalf, on the other hand, was the center of power, but Frodo was the center of gravity.

Well, I have seen some pretty interesting messing with proportions, but yeah, something completely different would be nice. An example of a non-humanoid humanoid:

I'm not sure. I think that since the battle map owuld look like a single square of terrein blown up, it would have no inhomogenous features. Since a homogenous dungeon is generally not a good idea (Now we must explore the dreaded Square of Moria!!!! ), I imagine they will be different.

I don't think those black thingies are rivers. Maybe they're roads of some kind.

Banned because I figured out how this thread has gone on so long: since you have to use some little ban phrase, there is really no way to mention the controversial stuff that inevitebly starts a flame war.
