I want to see a similar system to that of GC2, where there are limits on functional items, but you can do pretty much whatever you want with eye candy.

Well, in my opinion, it was a good movie. Just not good Trek.
Banned for diminished expectations.
I think it means you can give your store of primal-flux away to someone else.
Yeah, but I do think sdome sort of esbionage system is needed. With a check-box, of course, for those of us who don't like to fight dirty. I think the problem in GC2 was that the spies were actually underpowered, and while they could get annoying, they were not that big of a deal. I want spies in Elemental to be a true victory path.

Yeah, I think that there are fewer individual people on the other side, but they are a lot more vocal. I think I saw a post by Brad that mentioned not getting essence back easily, but I can't produce it for scrutiny. It sure seems like it will be finite, but maybe that's just bad phrasing.
Banned for making be add a signiture. -I'm Scoutdog. You're not. Muahhahha.
Banned for criticising farmers. When the proletariate rises up, you will be the first to be sent to the camps!!!!! Now, really: banned for having that caret after your signiture.
I like your way. It is a lot like mine, in the fundamental mechanics. In fact, I like it better, except for the fact that the devs and popular opinion seem to be for a more limited system. Either one would work, I think. I just want to be able to SEE all the fun things you can do with essance.

Yeah, the beast of burden mechanic is something we don't need. And a biologist on staff wouldn't hurt: I know that there are biologists who work specifically as consultants for movies, and they would probably be willing to do games as well.
I just don't like the idea of using up all your essence and having no way to get it back. You would wind up with a very long and boring wait while somebody finishes you off. There should be some way to either get it back or get more. It just shoudn't be easy. Besides, if you need to hoard the essence like that, you miss out on a lot of cool stuff, like spells etc.
Banned for using too small of a picture.
Well, the nitpickers (myself included) have crated a pretty good rundown on the other thread, but I will summarize here: If the Federation can make hovering vehicles, why are there still well-maintained roads. My dad is in charge of logistics for a large university, and he claims that roads cost a fortune to maintain. When ever McCoy shoots him with a hypo, Kirk yells or does something else to indicate that it hurts. Star Trek hypos use an atomization s

I said reversible, but I never said easily reversible. The essence you invest would have to be locked in there for a number of turns before you use it again, and it should require a significant amount of mana, time, and maybe even money or production points to pull it out. Then there's the fact that you may have to completely destroy a magical item to get back your essence, and that a hero who has become Mr. Universe using your power is not going to want to give it back w/out

Don't get me wrong, I want a finite amount of essane. I just don't want the investing process to be irreversible. If I put X amount of essance into a city or sowrd or hero, I want to be able to return the object to its regular weak state, and get that essence back for something else.
A few days ago, I came up with an Esbionage Victory condition for GC3 (link @ top of post, for those who are interested). GWSwicord saw it, and apparently took a liking to it, as he thinks it would look good in Elemental. Of course, we know so very little about the esbionage system in Elemental and whether there will even BE one, but assuming that it works like the one in GC2, all you would need to do is achieve the highest possible esbionage level on every surviving empire. Now, if the syste
I don't like the idea of a finite "essence tank" that never comes back. The problem I see is that hoarding your essence is not particularly fun. You don't get to see the settlements, cast the spells, fight the battles, etc. But you pretty much have to do it, because hoarding confwers a massive advantage late in the game. Thus, in order to win, you have to take a strategy that makes 75% of the game boring. This does not seem like a good idea to me.
Have you ever played GalCiv 2? EWOM will have an in-game unit designer similar to the shipyard, where you can comp, letely customise your units.
