I was raised on cartoons and have since moved to videogames (as have many of my friends, including one from Japan, land of manga and violent anime), and to this date, none of us have gotten into a serious fight. It isn't the cartoon that's the problem. It's the parenting.
Very true. I think people overestimate the influence the media and toys have on childrens' development. I grew up playing with Transformers, war games, and Pokemon, and I am not a particularly violent
? Was my post offensive somehow? Otherwise I think I'll keep discussing it right here, thank you very much.
I'm sorry if you were offended. The gist of my point is, that this post assumes that the thing would work. The keep your reality to yourself wasd just my sarcastic (and, admittedly at times, abrasive) joke about discounting a perfectly valid idea.

Sounds good. I'd probably never use it, but considering that a lot of the people who play EWOM are probably going to be computer geeks anyway, it seems like it would be worth Stardock's time.

Actually, according to the tech manual, while the holodeck occasionally replicates things, it generally uses hol-force-field constructions. The food would be holographic and thus tasteless unless you specifically requested it to be real. If it was real, it would have the same fattening effects as always.

Considering what Brad said about steel-armored units being a late-game feature, my bet would be on bronze, but it could go either way.

That seems like it would work. I can also see a special type of mage that can join an army to raise their stats, sort of like the fleet bonus ships in GC2. Of course, that brings in the Great Aggro Problem, so maybe not. EDIT: This refers to GW Swicord's reply on the bottom of the last page. Didn't see all of the other replies.

No thanks, I don't want Stardock to get involved with those people. Now, before this thread gets derailed completely , I want to consider the fact that metal is not what comes out of the ground in a mine: you get ore, which looks and acts pretty much like a rock until you refine & smelt it. The question is, should the player have to deal with the smaelting process, or just have it done automatically @ the mine? Guess it all comes down to the age-old comple

Yeah, GTA4 is in my opinion (although I haven't actually played it) not that good of a game. Just a bunch of smashing cars etc., with no story. My general rule is: goodness of a game is directly proportional to the number of dragons, mutants, or aliens mentioned in the plot. GTA gets a resounding 0. (Of course, that rises to a 1 in the "mutants" category if you consider ol' Tommy J....)

Banned for thinking you can only be one or the other. I am a Star Trek geek, Star Wars geek, GalCiv geek, Myst geek, and Metroid geek.

No, by my understanding there is no timer, and it works like this: You move your guy. The oppionent moves his. Then you move another of yours. Then he moves another of his and so on. When neither of you have any moving pieces left, the turn ends and it all resets.

I never said that it was common. I just said that sex is no longer necessary to procreate. As I said, most people would rather do it the old-fasioned way because of money and..... enjoyment.
