Very nice! I'll add a link to the sticky if you don't mind. 2.0 of Artifact will be split up so that the user can choose between two files, one with updated weapons abilities, and one without. If you want a more durable host, upload it to mediafire.com
Heavenfall
This is great stuff. Instead of the Self, just set it to FriendlyUnit and make the range of the spell 0. Oh, also the trick you found kenata, -1 meaning the spell is castable only once by that unit in that tactical combat.
OH GOD THE HORROR
Never ever have I once cared for the opinions of fools. (edit: just so we're on the same page, I'm talking about Xia)
Comparing python to xml is like comparing Windows to a text file.
Which is funny.. that if something is great in civ V then it was shafer but if something was terrible then its not his fault? wtf
You know what... you're exactly right. I'm sure he added parts I don't like as well as parts I like to Civ5. I'm not saying everything he changes with Elemental will make it better. I'm saying I will not pass ju
But I do not owe him a kindness.
OP has clearly never glanced at the modding potential in Civ5. It is out of this world. As good as elemental's modding support is at allowing users to add content to the game, Civ5's is 10 times better.
I think the hints were that it was someone up-and-coming, ie not as famous. So obviously it can't be Xia.
@oddrheia http://www.mediafire.com/?nottegqdb6fnqbq http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/5375/elemental1294194456.jpg You might have to tweak the skin colours yourself to get the right white, I didn't have much to compare to. In that case just overwrite the two texture files, but you have to keep the filename exactly the same. If you need
I think it's a game issue. I've had a similar issue where I just started a normal game, then tried to use the forge and it didn't work. However, everything you build in the forge still turn out alright (when you do see the models). So just re-start the client before you do anything in the forge.
rebelito I think you 'read' the hiring of Schafer as Brad intending to make Elemental more like Civ5. I think that is not a correct assumption. One person is capable of producing more than one type of game, especially when he's working under drastically different circumstances. Since you've already bought Elemental, at least you have nothing to lose. And in a years time or so, you'll be able to make a definite opinion about whether or not Schafer had a, in your mind, positive impact o
You want some white winter trees? Just give the word, and be specific in which ones you want.
Could you describe the problem a bit more in detail? Right now I have the mod on, and I loaded the game up and can place buildings (models) in the workshop like normal.
The ground isn't actually white, it's the colour of a city (beige). Only the environment is winter (check out the elf cities in-game and youl'l get what I mean). So you have some contrast there. Scale: Look at other buildings from the same faction. I like the white brick idea for golems. How does it look with other empire improvements? ArcElement2002 you can use anything really, as long as I can download it.
Got em!
After the disaster that was settlers 7, I won't be buying any more ubisoft-published games. Yeah, one check per startup sounds fine - until that check fails for a week straight.
I think the article just don't know about galciv 3. John Schafer was on IRC a few days ago under the nick Galciv3Designer (unless someone played a very pointless prank), and Brad has consistently said that the new mod czar will work on galciv3 when the time comes.
You are, of course, free to do so. Personally I think "geeks" tend to be antisocial and often arrogant. Or am I just describing myself now? Why are we even talking about this? Beneath me, this awful thread is.
Nah, dumbed down is a very fair assessment in my opinion. But it also had some great qualities like an immense amount of polish.
I agree with you, but I dread the next major Stardock release. At what point will their customers just start screaming for more knowing SD will cave? Regardless of if such a tactic is successful or not, I'm getting a headache just thinking about the forums around the release. This is sort of like a reverse bail-out.
Thanks, I'll have a look at those for next release.
You mean the one about Heavenfall joining Stardock? I figured that one out a long time ago. Or do you mean the one about Jon Shafer (ex-Firaxis) joining Stardock? Those are my two guesses.
I can confirm that I am not joining Stardock. And if there is a Heavenfall joining SD, it won't be me.
I haven't seen anything allowing or not allowing people to use it. In my book, that means its not allowed, and I certainly wouldn't upload it to wincustomize or anything like that as it requires that I have the rights/permission to do so. Talk to impinc, I think he would know best what RavenX thinks.
For the next few months the work will be adding unique units and further distinguishing the factions from each other. I don't plan on adding any more factions at this time.
Doesn't seem like any other resources are read into the tactical engine at all, besides mana and shards. Maybe that's why spellresourcecost doesn't function in tactical combat when you use it for anything but mana.
