Yeah, this should be at the top of the list when they start expanding modding. New features are great, but make the system work right first. Just to be clear, I'm not asking Stardock to fix these bugs individually. Rather, come up with a consistent way that the game reads and interprets XML then apply it across the board. Edit: If there has to be exceptions, document that.

By far the easiest way would be to have a spell you cast. You can set the cooldown to -1 to make it one cast per game, and remember to restrict it to your sovereign only. This is the XML you use to summon a champion instead of a unit. Unit &nbsp

Since players have started to explore modding now, they've come upon one crucial decision: do I put it in my installation folder or do I create a new folder in the /mods/ folder? The mods we've seen so far have mostly been put in the installation directory. This is bad for any number of reasons. It makes it impossible to have several mods installed at once. It makes it difficult to uninstall mods. It makes it messy when you include graphics files. So why are people doi

First problem I see is you have too many traits. Any trained unit can only have the maximum, which is default 4.

We already have support for using different mods in different folders. Just don't put your stuff in the installation directory. The problem is when people want to edit what is in the installation directory instead of just adding stuff. There's no good way to handle that.

Since I already had the upper body, why not a snake hybrid as well http://i.imgur.com/rTQju.jpg Edit: Changed the skin on the stomach to flow a little better http://i.imgur.com/D5yIj.jpg

While the tech points you get are free, keep in mind that for every tech you research the cost of future techs go up. So don't spam stuff you don't need just because you found a temple.

Uploaded 0.5 with some work on the context menu in the main strategic UI (see OP). Also now officially the "LargeUI mod". [quote who="mormegil" reply="28" id="3257529"]I love that people are modding the UI already, one of the best aspects of the Dxpack system is how simple it is to make changes like this. If you are not happy with your exact starting location, press Ctrl-N in-game. This will generate a new map with the same settings and faction. Edit: Ah, I see. You wish to play a random sovereign. Yeah, that's a good idea I think. Could be a medallion like a "?" where we select sovereigns.

A strong fire mage can deal tons of damage. If you are playing Empire also choose Death for the Soulburning spell. Focus your sovereign on spell damage and your empire on mana and spell research, and you'll have a strong mage.

Go into ElementalDefs.xml and change 0 to 1 . It's probably buggy as hell. Have fun.

First, let me remind everyone to be polite. If someone's disappointed in the game that doesn't mean you get a free pass at trash talking. population-based effects I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but if you want to do things like population adds production, you can do that. rewiring the whole magic system: spells researched rather than obtai

It sounds like OP wanted the game to do some things, and the devs wanted the game to do some other things. If you go into this game expecting MoM or AoW, you'll be disappointed. As for mods, check out my mod Stormworld . Its intent is specifically to add the missing dash of high fantasy to the game.

Not really, those can be heads and other stuff you don't see in-game such as clothes. Also *cough* I have some gameitemtypes that only work as placeholders for trophies so they appear in the Hiergamenon. [e digicons][/e]
