I've gotten a direct2drive game (bionic commando Re:armed... something I HIGHLY recommend to any 2D gamer) and luckily I have not yet had to deal with what happens when I am forced to upgrade or change PCs. I will be likely dealing with it as soon as win7 comes live and I officially remove XP from my gaming PC. (right now I'm duel-booting since win 7 beta is deactivated in august, and I'm not sure I will have a retail copy by then)

you repeated yourself about opera, just to note. Hmm, I haven't really followed the different javascript engines. I'm a java programmer, but I usually avoid java script like the plague. I wonder what that means for certain javascript based web applications. I know I've encountered some that don't run in tracemonkey, but do in V8.
Yes, there should be a limit to how many autosaves are kept. There's more than a few games out there that tend to fill up a huge amount of hard disk space with autosaved games due to the sheer number of saves generated.
the ones I like are the ones where there are like 5 autosaves, and it cycles through them. maybe do that, and add "last focus" for the last time it lost focus if we go with that.
Steam does not let me purchase games in their store because I am in one place and my money comes from another. Impulse does. Win for Impulse.
my nintendo Wii has that problem too. I think a factor to include with the oppression vs. revolt is how many generations have been oppressed. If it goes from free country to iron curtain in 1 generation, there IS going to be talk of revolt. However, if over the course of many generations 'big brother' slowly closes his fist, then there won't be a sudden backlash of revolts, especially of there is strict oppression of free-trade with non oppressed peoples or new ideas that would bring thoughts of non-oppressed kin
Frogboy said that he wants to be able to keep zooming in until you can see the "leaves on a tree" so maybe you might be able to see all the little people in a crowd. that being said, I think you will either need some changes of perpesctive or something for it to work. Demigod does this wierd wide-lens effect (I think that is what it is, I'm not a camera person) when you zoom all the way out. It changes the scope a little, or makes it seem that way. I
I personally like impulse's power to let me play my games when the net is down. When I have an outage in my area, it makes me cry because I have to find something to do that isn't playing a game online, stream movies from netflix, browse wikipedia, troll forum.elementalgame.com, or find new music videos. Thanks to impulse being not-stream, I can at least play offline games I already have downloaded.
I'm excited. I can see in phase 2 (and saw in phase 1) that there was room for impulse reactor driven games to have interactive features, but I was sad because the games I had didn't have such features. I can't wait to see the games that will.
I appear to have just found another forum I must troll. I didn't know official info was posted on quarter to three
now that is interesting. So you are suggesting an empire get its resources by smuggling them from another? That makes sense to some extent. That would be pretty complex, since how many factors would be involved.
wait, both pro and con are 'more black market activity' so... >_>; yeah. I vote that less oppression means less black market activity, because more would be out in the open. Master of magic had a tax system that would effect how happy people were with you, I figured there would be something similar rating happiness that would factor in by oppression (people can be oppressed and still be happy)
master of Magic had a random name generator (or a very long list of names), I assume this will have something similar, it would be nice to see it have different configuration options. Maybe customizable configuration setups (for like naming conventions and such) that can be shared like everything else.
Come to think of it, I have never really seen much in the way of advertisements from stardock. I see articles on sites talking about their games, but that is the job of said sites (to keep the masses informed of what is 'hot' and coming out). So I suspect that they depend on just word-to-mouth + the sight of it in stores to sell copies.
great, I hope I can pre-order

Obviously, I'm taking a shot at some fallen heroes. I am probebly way off, but I created this from the like 2 small experts of info about them. I feel bad for them because all of the fan heroes so far are men, rather than fallen. I want excitement about them too. Sadly because I don't know much about them, I have less to work with in terms of history and they are hard to relate since all we know is they 'arn't quite human'. I don't want to stray too far from what
HA HA HA [e digicons][/e] it just hit me... IMPULSE BUYS!!! $5 software! its an impulse buy! on impulse! oh the pun is so bad! @Tucobenidicto - yeah, the titan quest demo was bad. It doesn't compare to the finished (in fact, the finished doesn't compare to the expansion, which added many little tweeks to make the game playable). You really need both titan quest AND the expansion before the game is rea
I don't see how nor why they would exclude such a major mechanic from the beta... If it's not in from the beginning I'm sure it'll make its way into the beta before release. Being something that's never really be done before, I would imagine SD would want lots of feedback on it in particular.
yes, I mean in early beta. Since obviously it will be in before the final forms of the beta. Specifically, I meant just the 2D map beta(s). (3D is a pretty ma
@ tucbenidicto : I personally don't mind mass market, since you can still make very good work and appeal to the masses. I think mr. tucbenidicto that you are a bit too harsh on final fantasy. Not everybody who has played final fantasy is an "emochild" and using it as a reference point is a very good one since its one that just about everybody has encountered (rather than say, using "moria" as a reference point would probebly miss everybody except a very select few)

Yeah, I'm usually happy with just having a per-turn auto-save rather than everytime I change focus. I mean, honestly, if I loose a turn worth of work, I'm not going to cry about it. Maybe also save after every battle, and then you'd be pretty much set.
I'm still waiting to see how it will work. I wonder if we will have essense in the beta?
*once a week bump* Remember, a screenshot of you telling another person on a different forum could count as a submittion. Its that easy. I hope the lack of submittions is because everybody is doing something great that takes a bit of time to prepare. :D
