Technically 1 copy per 2 people at a LAN party and it is to be removed when the 2nd person finishes I believe....
There really isn't any rule like that that anywere in stardock's stuff that I've seen. That was microsoft's deal with Age of Empires (what a good idea too). Blizzard, used to have their spawn software that was used for lan games. I personally believe that playing with a friend or roommate is what I payed for, so I always f
I like OLD forests as an idea, but I guess those won't exist in the world(s) of Elemental. You know, like princess mononoke style. That is what I think of when I read jonny's post. Pigeonx2 talks about 2nd grown forests and such, but said forests are young and I wouldn't imagine to hold the kind of creature as mentioned in jonny's post. It seems unlikely that enough forest or swamp would still exist after the cataclysm for a creature to dwell
Seriously: how often do we say "look out for the blue army!" We usually refererence sides by name. This would have the nice side effect of helping out any color-blind players.
I say "watch out for " in strategy games ALL THE TIME! I'd almost say its a flaw with the game "demigod" because the colors are so subtle that I can't do it. I have to try to spell their crazy names. I've encountered 2 color blind gamers, only 1 of which couldn't fig

I want to be able to watch the replay in a way that it might work as a screensaver or something. A cinematic view that is at least a little self piloting. So I just play it on one of my screens (or both?) while I do other things.
(there isn't a '-' in oxymoron. In fact, it isn't even supposed to be pronounced 'oxy*moron' it was originally pronounced oxym*o*ron, so "moron' wasn't heard at all. But modern times and failure to check dictionaries has caused 'oxy*moron' to be an excepted. This is a kinda hybrid pronunciation in that you can still hear some emphisis like 'ox'*'y'*'mor', rather than 'o'*'xym'*'or'
Yeah, I use just plain windows. In the past I've used Nvidea's or ATI's software that came with the cards in use. (and before that I used something that came with my 3Dfx voodoo cards, I don't remember what it was called) I've never really used any 3rd party software (except maybe in the case of the voodoo cards, but I know I did get it off a disc that came with them, so it was psudo 1st party at least)
Yeah, just getting letting somebody else be secretary general isn't going to lose you the game unless you've truely lost in diplomatic, at which point I'd say you weren't the superior player. Its easy to tech and arms race if you completely ignore keeping other people in love with you, I wouldn't say being ahead in military and economy really makes you the superior player off the bad. You should have immidiatly attacked and destroyed the secretary general if you were
uh, did you already register the serial number? if so then just download again. Its a good habit to register your seriel number. If you didn't register it or write it down or anything. then yes. you'll have to get another copy.

All eyes are on stardock to let us know how they are doing it. I still vote for uncertain research, but the ability to modify the selection of spells to which you have access.
weekly bump. happy singles-awareness day. (somebody should have totally made a valentine for elemental and submitted it here)
Excatly right denry There is a big difference between a "hard" personality that follows a certain lines of code or honor but is very smart, and a guy who randomly says "Man, my nose itches, I think I should take it out on you" and declares war. The latter is how I felt the difficulty in most TBS games is created. (I want an AI personality that says the above line)
is this really off topic? I feel like this should be moved to be in some other place.
That should almost be a spell. A spell that makes an army look like it belongs to somebody else. So you can run guys in and attack people, and they think its a different player.
Ah, you're confusing old adventure games and MUDs. Muds are comparatively complex, but also easier since there doesn't tend to be any direct effects of commands - everything is just text.
I wouldn't say easier... Often you had to sit in front of a thesaurus trying to figure out how many different ways you could type what you wanted. It didn't help that I couldn't spell very well back when I played most of my MUDs. I miss old adventur
It isn't even beta yet. Actually I think my lady friends got more humor about it than my guy friends. But then again, I hang out with pretty perverted girls. I don't think having a good time at the expense of dirty thoughts would send us to hell. Maybe if it was about baby smashing (or worse D: ) it would, but sex is pretty... mellow. Its part of nature. I believe it was Galileo that said "I do no
Another idea would be if there was an easy trading system between players regarding items... say the items can be teleported for a small mana fee.
this is especially true if the game works like MoM, where you could always spend mana to move to and from different locations. When a hero found an item, it showed (at location) heroes, and then had a price to teleport to anywhere else.
I'd want personalities to be in different catigories rather than just "beginner, easy, normal, hard, etc." Like I'd want "rushing AI easy, hard, impossible" and "culture AI easy, hard, impossible" maybe "turtle AI simple, advanced" (easy and normal wouldn't really apply, since you could probebly still be able to rush them). You know, something other than just 'easy, normal, hard' or 'noble, warlord, king' or whatever set you can imagine. So
A beta is whatever stage in development is after alpha... it doesn't actually suggest anything about its content. I'd like my money just be taken. so that way I won't risk being overdrawn or something for it later. I don't think it will be a problem, because I tend to be pretty good with money, but I was concerned because I think every credit card I own expires before 2/2010. So they had better "lock it down" before then, because I w
