I don't think these 'tags' are going to exist. I imagine if they don't then will be messy with a bunch of tags I'd imagine. Stardock really sounds to me like they don't want such labels. I'm pretty sure that if we are going to want something like, say weakness to holy spells, we are going to make an atribute 'weak to holy spells'. And if we are going to want to make a Cuforg'nub spell that only hurts snork'nol creatures, then we'll have to
How's it running for Win 7?
I really hope we're not limited to only 4 types of units in a world of magic... and if that is true then I PRAY we have the option to add new types of units as well as modify existing ones.
Yeah, thats already been confirmed. We will be able to create entirely new units
I was under the impression that dragons were going to be super rare and hard to get, and NOT beasts. Somewhere frogboy said something about how sentient fantastic creatures like dragons were going to really feel special in this game.
I was hoping to see elves, dark elves, humans, draconians, etc in the game.
Yeah, like I said. I'm sure Stardock didn't want to bother creating all of those, so the just went with "human" and the rest can be added later.
Thri-kreen were the bug race. They called them klackons in MoM and MOO2.
Yeah, what ever happened to those guys. Back in the early 90s they were in everything (they were a standard playable race in

Well, the question was supposed to be putting words in your mouth, asking the other player, so I'm not sure if the joke flies. Right now Frogboy is working a lot on Demigod so that it will release on time. Maybe you should show how much you want an update by creating some fan work or something and spread it around the net and here. If you want updates, maybe you should give a good update for frogboy so that he comes back to THIS forum? &nbs

Its like creating a big red button and saying "don't push" with no other explination, then leaving you in a room with it. I am going to do it (The exception is when I really trust/respect the person who tells me, then I might not do it out of fear of this person's wrath/distrust.)
I like how this has become something of a DoW forum considering the number of topics on it. I guess its really popular with this community. ^_^ Does it give any sort of blue screen or indication that it is about to happen? just shutting down could by anything from a power issue (if your power supply isn't able to handle the high-video) to a motherboard problem.
Quoting Phalnax811, reply 3 Ugh I hated DOW II Beta, I think they totally ruined it. They changed from 11 races to 4, added GFWL, and lowered the ammount of soldiers. They have a total of 7 maps, not 2v2 maps as well. Graphics are nice, I'll give them that. I'm not getting the game. Starcraft II, Demigod, and Empire: Total War are on my list however. -Phalnax<br
1 month aniversery of the contest being created. So far, we've had one contest entry, and lets keep the ball rolling! We have about a month to go and we have 5 prizes, don't forget. If you are already a fan, do something to let us know or tell somebody else about it to hopefully let them be a fan as well, and maybe you can get a free shirt as well!
Unit features and unit tags are two completely different categories
Well, my point was I didn't think that Elemental:WoM was moving in a direction where such tags would be good to have. I feel like it takes away from what has been mentioned in the developer journals about unit creation. Creating catigories limits the number of ways you create units, even if you get to make more catigories. Then you just have a throng of catigories with
When I think of phantom warriors, I think of the bit from the beggining of A Wizard of Earthsea where Ged weaves together the words from two spells to distract and confuse invaders.
Yes! man, I've been motivated to go read wizard of earthsea again. maybe I'll buy it if my local library doesn't have a copy. I last read it back in high school, what a terrific reference point.
Certainly congrats. I guess it hit that sweet spot of, older game so good price, but new enough that its features make the game worth buying.
I vote that 1 arrow from a hero is more accurate than 20 arrows from random bums. I mean, they are heroes. They are the kinds of people that put pebbles through the skulls of giants with 1 shot, when a whole army couldn't do it.
I don't know if its really a good idea to catigorize this. I mean, what is "alien" in a world of magic exactly? have you seen a beholder? Like, that could be alien, magical, or beast. In another game, I'd probebly be willing to move it into magical or something. But Elemental is all about creating your own things. The reason that conflicts with the templates is because if you read some of frogboy's comments on the units, you may notice that they don't want
yeah, you need to tell the context. Real life is different from a video game. Alliances are totally offensive, nothing kicks another guy's ass like a joint attack. That being said, its hard to program that kind of coordination in AI to work with humans, so it usually doesn't happen. Usually, it means that the alliance member becomes a neutral party. I could imagine mechanically for a game, perhaps it would break both alliances.
They did? I have a vague memory that there was going to be some kind of ranking system for mods. Of course, I'm not going to download anything that doesn't fit into the main game like a latex glove smeared in vaseline. I'm incredibly, ungodly picky about my mods.
Well, it was a bit vague. But based on what frogboy said, it sounds like the model browser and such are going to be a part of game UI. Frogboy confirmed that the custom-content features are

It would be cool to have some good illussion spells that might actually work on players. Of course, though, when you say 'phantom armies' I think of the 'phantom warriors' and 'phantom beast' of MoM.... They were worth diverting resources, because if you didn't, they would stab you and it would hurt.
oh noes. Well Gal Civ 2 certainly isn't solient green in digital form, so I'd say its pretty safe. Though, now that I think about it, the people serving it still encouraged eating it. Its the crazy person that knew the truth. And here it would be hard to find a deviant (well, one that stood out from the others).
