well, the persistant world part as I understand it relates to how the world will expand (rather than getting new maps) and because I didn't know much about it I did not specifically address it. However, as it has been readdressed, I do believe it is important to note that in classic Civ style boarders, opening up the sides of the map in a 'persistant world' fashion might totally bone somebody who is stuck in the middle. They would be denied access to all the

yeah, I need to get on that. I've cleared off my main partitition to reinstall the RC, but haven't gotten aronud to doing it (obviously the bi-hourly shutdowns would make me get off my lazy bum, but I've got a month and a half left) I just hope you won't need to reinstall between this RC and the not-pre-release RC
I remember with the karma windows I had to use a trick where I used the tab button. I clicked the button, hit tab (so it would move to the 2nd text box, even though I couldn't see it) then I would start typing. When done, I't hit tab again and press enter (2nd tab moves to the 'ok' button) you may have to press "down" or the arrow key to make it pick from a list. It goes in order: Spam warez or pirated software TOS violation<br
I'm trying to find the "bugged tile" anybody else see it?
I believe it only works in word 2007 if you have a certain version. I personally have ultimate (legal too) and it works. But my friend doesn't and as such he cannot save to pdf
I know this isn't the point of the thread, but I'd like to mention that I really like the idea of powerful summons that are bound within some borders (whether determined by something like a sphere of influence or by the player when casting the spell).
I do not think that isn't the point of the thread. I believe that is perfectly within terms of the discussion. Its still a 'limit' of sorts. &nb
I'm sure they will look again at he originization of the forums as release comes closer. Right now the community is fairly small, and while it may be a bit unorginized from an outsider's point of view. its still pretty easy to sift through whe posts at the moment. Also, we don't have anything "official" to be pinned as you suggested yet.
missed chance for hiring :( you can still hire me! I don't need to wait. begining of summer is perfect timing for me. I'm at my best, even if michigan isn't.
p.s. to landisaurus: Since you invited Grammar Nanny heckling elsewhere...your number 3 has three spelling errors and the punctuation is entirely artistic. I'm deliberately not checking what I just typed above--odds are fair that I have a spelling booboo too.
you don't that I can see. For some reason when I suggested the Majestic road, I thought of the yellow brick road (wizard of oz) meets sna
what edition(s?) I have virtually all of the 2nd edition AD&D books. I only have the PHP, DMG for the original D&D, the Monster manual for 1st edition AD&D, and a greyhawk setting book for 1st edition. for 3rd I've got the core, the book of vile darkness, book of exhaulted deeds, and complete warrior. if its 150 3rd edition books, I might be interested.
Essense is a super limited resource. It would mean you could only have x essense worth of perminant spells per turn. That would effectivly be the same as the amount of mana per turn upkeep you could handle. In fact, it may be a more balanced limit, because it wouldn't allow for stockpiling of mana, then blowing it all at once one upkeep-spells to steam roll the opponent. The 4 spells we have so far don't mention upkeep. Though I guess they arn't persist
expansions to what? (this is the off-topic section which is shared between several game forums, to the best of my ability you are talking about Sins, but perhaps you know something about Demigod I do not yet know. I would be very excited for a Demigod micro-expansion.) If you are talking about Sins, the next expansion was already announced to be a diplomacy-focused expansion. The AI is being vastly over-hauled and new techs focused on trading and such will be given.
I think that answers the question fair enough. So Maya is the program of choice. (curses, I've only touched animations in Max, though not enough that I guess I'd be learning a new tool no matter what) My next interest is to see if it can be done in things like "Blender" (that was used to create Big Buck Bunny . Big Buck Bunny was made entirely with free software) Since I know I will not be purchasing either Max
My hope (alright, my expectation, but I'm an awfully demanding user...) is that Impulse would be able to resume an interrupted download on demand, whether or not download limits were the reason for the interruption.
It does.
So with our only real magic update from boogie bac, it sounds like essense is going to replace the standard "mana per turn for upkeep" method seen in MoM for spells that have lasting effects. Considering t here is limited essense, this may likely be fair as it places a limit to the amount of ongoing spells you can have at one time in a different way. (for particularly nasty spells like MoM's Armagedon or Great Wasting, I'd wonder if essense-per-turn upkeep wouldn't be an idea t
I'd be nervous about auto-upgrades.... because I wouldn't be paying attention, an auto-upgrade caravan would start on route to my army, and then the enemy would steal it. I'd get angry, anger quit the game, throw my PC out a window, delete the game from my Impulse account, and start a flame war on the forums. (I lie, I wouldn't do any of those things) That being said, the only upgrades I can really think would be present is ensure there is a ste
I take your words as support, GW. However I fear my spelling as a young student were much worse than it is now, so it doesn't apply to me. My position(s) as a writer or journalist is based mostly on the passion for what topic of writing is in place. I'm firmly in the "put camma in every place where I think there should be one gramatically and where I feel a pause is required to help make the sentance not appear to be a run-on" Generally I'm pre

J
Touching on the MOO3's 'putting AI in charge' concerns... In Elemental, no matter what system is implemented and what degree of automation/AI control is put in, rest assured that if the player overrides it, the AI will NOT re-prioritize it's own agenda the next turn. In MOO3, the main problem players had with the 'AI' was that player-set commands were often overruled y the computers logic, which we will NEVER allow. If the p

HELL YEAH!!! This is a great idea. some spells, like magic roads, portals, global boosts (like wind mastery) and such could be benifitial to several channelers, so it makes sense that two or more channelers would want to share in spell casting and upkeep. Things like a "spell of mastery" spell that would cause an alliance to win would also be a good spell to share. So I suggest also possible channeler-channeler shared spells as such.
I always liked attacking neutral towns in MoM. At the same time, I kinda wish I could turn them off just to see what the game is like. It would certainly maket he world seem less previously explored.
oh no! I'v run out of virgins! Bears should be in the OP list XD Frogboy made a mention of a particular kind of crystal in one of his posts. Giving theory that there may be different kinds of crystals and gems. I personally want to make sure all the classic resources from MoM are present. Mithral, adamantine, diamond.... I can't think of any others right now, but there are some.
we of the forum have talked about weather a few times. Haven't heard anything from Stardock yet. I suspect it would be after the 1st few betas at the soonest (just because everything else I can think of with weather effects, didn't have it until either A: late production, B: a few patches after release, or C: from expansion packs or sequels
one thing that I must comment, I like the shapes the continents formed in the screenshot. If it yields results like that often (obviously, we wouldn't want the exact same) then I'd say its pretty solid. I think that looks more 'natural' than most of the Elemental maps we've seen so far, though its been stated that map generation isn't finished yet.
