I believe we should wait for frogboy to make a post about multiplayer that isn't freash out of working on Demigod before we get upset about it. Even so, why would you be punished for liking multiplayer? I don't think Demigod is going to let this game be released without solid multiplyer. However they just want to create a very high quality single player experiance. Personally, I hope to shape that into a good multiplayer ex

I'm with GW Swicord. Its magic... I want communication to happen through a magic mirror, or in a mysterious mountain top council or something that is 'magic' and 'awe-inspiring' in nature. I think the communication should be instant. I know I wouldn't mind having supplies moved by caravan. I wouldn't mind doing in MoM style (when moving magical items around the world, mana must be used) but the caravan would be a good starting or fallback metho
I would also like confirmation about whether or not LAN/hotseat games will be possible. I read the same meaning as Annatar did in Frogboy's post, but Landisaurus has sown the seeds of doubt and I can't find my herbicide...
*shrug* I don't think I've really pursued it beyond my initial comment, and SD hasn't really said anything that would change my interpretation. But we'll see. Frogboy DID say e

Reply to Prototype in PC Gaming

I remember when Sierra made games that excited me, like Quest for Glory and Police Quest, or interesting games like waterworks and incredible machine. I don't know what to say about prototype. I don't see anything that particularly catches my eye. It looks like a solid game, just it doesn't have anything that would raise it to the list of things I plan to purchase.

download limit eh? I have a problem with ISPs that have some sort of total download limit. Like, bandwidth is not an expendable resource. When somebody is done using it, it comes back for somebody else to use. How can you put a price on total amount of data downloaded? It makes sense to pay for a certain part of the total bandwidth (its like renting your own lane on the internet super-highway) but saying that you can only move information across it x-number of

Camp #4 seems to be leaning back in the direction of the micro-heavy of Camp 1. Possibly even worse because now I'm going to want to be planning ahead many building periods for every city (might as well start moving resources right away, rather than wait to need them moved) I guess it would give something to do between turns. Really I think this camp causes camp #1 not to even be a consideration. I still think camp 2 or 3 are the best though. If
--This is a little off topic, but I'm really hoping that the random map genorator will come up with some awesome maps on it's own. One of my biggest problems with Civ3, and Civ4 was that you were lucky to get an intersting map. Except for some of the time you almost always ended up with a western rectangle and a eastern rectangle...with some islands trown in. The land masses hardly ever had intersing shapes or features. I always hoped that the

Wrap it up with a awesome campaign creator & editor and Gods themselves will wail and howl in shock and awe!
of course! If I were to create a good story-based map (I did in that HoMM all the time) I'd want to create dungeons. Linking those would be very important. &

but, unlike play by e-mail, "play by web" would suggest a web-based interface. I would support it being intergrated with the forums or something like that so that, but I cannot imagine (or want to request) having the game be compatible with web browsers. Forum intergration I'd like to see is simply that I could send a game requests and hold communication for a game through forums the way one would through a similar interface like GPGnet or Battle.net. &nbsp

I promise next piece of art I do for elemental fandom will either include a fox or be created along-side a fox. does wealth really make sense as a factor? I can think of plenty of very wealthy cities that wouldn't be able to form militia. (just because you have the technology, doesn't mean you know how to fight. just look at the french) Normally militia are like super-cheap (super fast to build) units who suck... And they are in strategy games all the time. Civilization has militia, for example... they are super weak, but they exist (except for minute men, which a

If we were asked, I'd say give both sphere of influence(s) and national borders. Though national borders may require a tech to be unlocked or something? what really me are the things we haven't seen yet, like inns. (your typo reminded me). We know we have dungeons, and national borders might cause trouble for that (because it would lock out certain dungeon access unless you had open borders... then players would get pissed when you walked onto 'their
