AH! I realized I should put this here as well. As a responce to those cat snipers. BTW: I'm done creating avatars. (I mean nobody else has asked me for one) so if I forgot to make something, and you asked me to do so. Remind me. Or if you haven't asked me, feel free. The offer is still in the air (at least until gam

I don't know, but I'm excited too. Being able to expand the boarders of the map mid-multiplayer game would be interesting. I wonder exactly what would the trigger for it be. I mean an area of attack? why would a single area of attack open up the map? Unless it was like a mountain pass or something, but couldn't a good wizard just fly over it? At base, we know the world is going to work a lot like Civilizations. You may not have borders the

I've been fighting for floating cities for a long time. (you'll see from how both of luckmann's links are to my posts ^_^ ) I think longer than bear cavarly. I'm glad somebody else picked it up. However, I do not think portals are the only way to sustain it. 1 > you could raise several tiles including one with a farm 2 > flying creatures... Balloons are pretty classic fantasy objects as well. If you manage to tame giant eagles,

I vote chrome. I really like its interface. (my only problem is it suffers from compatibility issues. Not where you'd think though. It handles javascript better than firefox in most instances I come across, but it tends to crash on places like youtube or other video sites)

I'm with GWSwicord on this. just because the different factions are in theory the same 'race' doesn't mean they are poor compared to those who would be the different race. Warcraft 1 had 2 races... but they were pretty much 1 race in that everything was mirrored pretty exactly (except the spell casters, which is where the game was broken). Warcraft 2 had 8 races (9 if you count "demon" as a neutral race) but only 2 factions. is this an improvement? For

I'm still a bigger fan of what I proposed earlier. I'm leery of agreeing to have a game where 100+ resources might be expected. But I cannot form an arguement as to why it should not be the way it is.

I think that camp 2 sounds more friendly, but the hardcore part of me yearns for part 1. The need to protect caravans would become very extreme, which could cause problems on large scale maps. Unless there was a way to automate troops to patrol trade routes and automatically move to defend caravans from attackers, I can see it getting too frustrating. I see no reason why Camp1 wouldn't work, except for possibly running out of resources (I mean when you're balancin

ho ho ho, see what I told you. already a responce hmm.... I seem to have downloaded the player... to no change. it doesn't start any map generator (I'm running the Win 7 beta right now, as to not risk harm to my release client version)

but you can see a post date of a thread. You just have to open it. I think having 2 dates on the main page might be confusing, and I support having the date of the most recent update over the original post date. (if people saw the original post date, they might be less included to look at old threads, even though the last 2 pages of replies are all new)\\ I do support some sort of "dev post search" feature or something that lets us find if devs placed

yeah, that is how I responded too. I was going to reply, but I only saw it this morning. Perhaps you should talk more about what we're downloading? I've gotten a firm policy not to download random pieces of software that I am not sure the source. from the basis of your question though, I'm not sure if we could really tell. I mean its things like village placement that makes a map playable (see boogiebac's joke 'screwed' image). Small islands are fine. &

But we won't be inserting artificial players (bots) into games unless users explicitly ask for them. Before, we planned to have bots operating on their own server looking for MP games to join complete with their own chat capabilities.
couldn't we just kick them though? I mean it seams reasonable to have bots join a game once, and if

that would be pretty cool. Whenever I think of a vetran warrior, I always think of scars (because, if he's been in any tough battles, he undoubtably has them). minor accessories such as eye patches and piercings go into this as well. Possibly gloves, bracers, shoulder pads, and things such as that would only continue to add up to how customizable your guys are. I think that level of customization would really help me grow attached to my heroes and chann
So if you allow AI modding, without having the bots AI mods would not find their way online unless you periodically update your AI library so they become selectable, no?
you'd have to test in single player I guess. Then when its ready, you'd update it . I mean, it shouldn't be hard to periodically update your AI library will it?

Well, Spore is highly successful. I'd give "magic spore" a chance, though I want MoM 2 much MUCH more. (I'd say... infinatly more. I don't care about spore, I do care about master of magic. I just would give magic spore a chance) I wouldn't be worried about "simplification" resulting in shallow single player sandbox epierience. I mean MoM had pretty simple economy mechanics. If you recall, around the time Elemental was announced, Frogboy announ

I would imagine the "hero only" mode would be best fit as a "dungeon mode" (rather than "hero only" in title). You simply could focus on heroes, but might still want some generic follower fodder. Such a mode would benifit being restricted to the dungeons, ruins, and such and play like X-com (if anybody recalls, one of the original descriptions of Elemental was Master of Magic meets X-com). There would be no over world, just the local town(s) that could be visited for supp

wait... are these anti-bot claims from the Demigod forums or from the Elemental Forums? I've been looking around trying to figure out where negitive feedback on the bots was sourced, however I could not find it. I mean there is a lot of discussion of the bots in terms of final release, but a server based bot system in final release seems a little silly. Then I looked at the demigod forums and journals, which is where everybody hates bots. And rightly so, its
