I want a boyish-looking woman child of a bear :P but seriously, I remember in MoM how the wizards were all human except for 2, which include a dragon and a mystery hooded figure. In that game there were many races, but you can only play two. I would like to see this game be the opposite. Though since that may be unreasonable, my back-up hope is at least one 'theme' of channeler outfit, body structure, and other appearance for each faction

Stardock suggested they are not going to have the classic tech tree. I wonder if there really is any room for alternate pre-reqs the way you might in Civ 4. I know they said there was not going to be a direct line the way you have the dagger > -short sword > long sword laid out. Frogboy almost specifically said there were not going to be in that fashion. From his words, I can't imagine dagger research would be in any way required for

I have mixed feelings on espionage, sabotage, and spies. I don't always like having to worry about countering espionage and such the way you do in Civ 4 Warlords or some total war games (though in total war its so hard to actually do much with your spies that once you actually get something that isn't caught most of the time, you deserve it). Personally I'd rather it be replaced with a more magical "scrying" mechanic to gain information, and linked would be something that uses m

I hate when it happens in such a way that converts your "death stack" of army sitting on the city to the other faction as well.

I want those underwater resources in the dev journal ^_^ if there are naval forces... there will be more than one unit. (transport and warship of somekind both being required to count as naval forces) chances are there may also be water creatures. I want water dungeons. The kind heroes and channelers can only enter if "water breathing" or similar spell is cast.

I feel that if you think about "tards" and "ragequitters" you're effecting the internet on a quantum level to make it more likely you'll be joined in a game with such people.

I personally imagine capes and robes to be include. Robes for sure are essential for making magic units and channelers. Its the most classic. Capes are just cool. I remember mention of trouble getting havoc physics for 64-bit. With havoc physics, I image animating capes won't be too much trouble. So many good heroes wear capes, I don't know how they couldn't be included at some point.

yeah, check the dev journal. There was a rough mouth of April, however May had plenty-o-new info. Not as much as I'd expect so close to the beta's release, but that should be here soon. I'd rather they push to get a playable version of the game to me over typing up a dev post. At least right now, when its only a month or so away.

just the next step from the wii in my book. Can't have the wii and PS3 hogging all the motion sensing.

haven't read it.... huh, certainly sounds strange. I know I've never heard of it. It sounds a bit more like the power you get in black and white, and a bit less how I imagine essence. I don't expect essence to be gained by worship for one. And what do you mean "another being that has access to primal flux"?

curses, but a teaser! not much specific information. what kind of modes would let you play a 4x strategy game multiplayer in just 1 hour? victory in 100 turns? I'm excited to see more. What multiplayer options are going to be open for the beta I wonder? In demigod it was online only, and it was suggested to be the same way for Elemental. However the AI bot thing was removed, so what now? [quote who="pigeonpigeon" reply="7" i

for 3, there would likely need to be a turn limit (in hours or days). Simultaneous turns would be pretty manditory I'd say. you could download the previous turn(s) actions at any time, and you'd have to submit your turn actions in the amount of time provided for the turn (say you have 24 hours to submit a turn, you could submit your turn anytime during that 24 hours). I vote strongly towards no. 1. Not just for hotseat games, but also bec

on the topic of influence by trade. If this game has those special technologies/resources that can only be researched by 1 civilization, I would want it to especially reflect the culture. I mean America has gotten a lot of Japanese culture influence because of all the software and technology shared with Japan. And so if somebody develops a super-conductor or special magic rod, everybody that came into contact with whatever this was, I'd imagine would be subjected to a bit

sorry to hear its so tough to get a box copy of your game. At least its online, right? arn't spanish copies of games pretty common? I mean, as common as french or german? I know around here we occationally have spanish portions of game manuals and game boxes, even when the game isn't in spanish. I always thought it was odd (games for the wii console are the most extreme. they were required to include english, french, and spanish on all boxes and manuals

I was just thinking the same thing. Necroposting (the act of posting on a "dead" thread) I feel is justified if something is really added. Though I guess sometimes people just want to get it to the surface of the thread list for others to post on. I hope the beta is hotseat, or at least beta 2 or 3 in the case that frogboy isn't full of it when he claims Beta 0 won't be fun (I personally don't believe him. I feel the game will have problems, and it w

roads and farms are confirmed, btw. If you look at their mock screenshots (or even Boogiebac's toothpicks) you can clearly see farms and roads are incorperated into the game mechanics. Mines are pretty natural, since they've existed in Civilization, MoM, HoMM, and AoW (i.e. spirit parents of this game)o so it seems unlikely that they would be absent from this game (how else would you get resources you don't find on the surface)

Things like bandit lords and armed city states would certainly spice up the game. I'm personally a pretty big fan of AI only sub-factions that might appear in a game. I think the ability one might have to influence, alliance, or destroy these AI only faction should also heavily influence the outcome of the game. Perhaps if they REALLY like you, they might even join your kingdom.

the classic culture/happiness scale is fairly common in strategy games. I'm not even really sure what to say, since its pretty standard. Not enough money is directly related to the generic "happiness" of a population. I'm more interested in events that would cause it. Like the jagged knife from Gal Civ (though I'd want more preventive measures, because it always pissed me off)

I really don't think you'd need a biologist. I mean, pulling a cart is a lot easier than actually lifting something. And I can imagine a dragon can lift quite a bit. But why would I want to even use a dragon? I would just use an army of serfs to pull all my caravan carts. I bet 100 serfs can pull just as much as a dragon. And we wouldn't have to change a thing.
