yay! wait, is this a dev journal outside the dev journal area?
Quoting landisaurus, reply 8...what exactly are you suggesting? Wouldn't "honey" be more appropriate? ... Well, sweetie, I didn't mean the double-entendre but it works for me if you're Southern enough to understand that that sort of sugar is mostly about affection, not sex. The world definitely needs more of that sort of sugar. And, yes, honey would make for better prose. I was just trying to be al
And we won't get a tech tree. It'll be called "Development lines". Will it just be a tech tree by another name, or will we actually have numerous "lines" of techs?
I think that was the joke. Changing or not changing names means a lot, even when it is effectivly the same as something else. Sometimes you want the same thing, but by a different name so it seems 'new and fresh' or other times you wa
Who cares how it works? It wouldn't be proper steampunk unless the inventor uses at least three instances of the word fluxcapacitator, clockworkomajig or teslapitor. Or somesuch. My point is that Steampunk rarely makes sense. Especially not fantasy steampunk. Steam engine armors, steam-propelled jetpacks, enchanted revolvers, archimedes rifles - it's all on the same level of realistic as 'a wizard did it'. But with steam, gears, an
They are using Havok, but nowhere did they suggest that you could alter the physics. If you create a model, the game would automatically apply the physics to it. https://forums.elementalgame.com/332712 That is the official post on elemental physics. You don't need the SDK, because you don't need to worry about them.
Upgraded roads have another interesting strategical aspect, like enemies could follow those roads, since they would always link key locations on the map. I do like the idea of roads as an important role on strategy. And that will depend on how resources are goin to be managed. If resources are goin to be global, without need of transportation, there's little to do with roads besides troop movement.
<p
Where is Jonny5446? Very good question, and right-on call to reference the Wild Spaces thread.
I was wondering that when I was reading the "how do you rank in the community" thread. Just because he used to be very common, but not as much recently. (he was missing from a lot of the "top 24" lists, and I thought "huh, if this had been 3 months ago I bet he'd be on there")
I've decided I hope the alpha doesn't have an NDA. Unlike the Gamma (which might have something the Beta does not and should be secret until release) the Alpha is unlikely to have anything that won't be in the public beta. (I want to write articles for an elemental fansite about the alpha if I'm picked) though I'd want it to stay if it means I could get hired somewhere >_> on topic of karma influencing alpha entry, I hope/suspect SD would have
where do you get the authority to post something as "official"?
certainly on big deals or debates its a good idea to help show feedback. Since usually its the loud peanut gallary that are heard, rather than the majority
man, you're eager to get that survey out there. I should have had you post about my contest back when I ran it.

As such, Paradoxant shall be fined... one alpha spot, as soon as he recieves one.
but then we'd be down 1 alpha player (you need to include what happens to his seat in the case he wins before the deal is made)
I like this one more than the camp one. I'm not sure how to rate "other" though. I'm most anxious to hear about something that probebly is a definate "no" by this point.
yay deep space nine. I don't use facebook often enough that a badge would mean anything. it would be horrifyingly out of date and people might actually learn who I am by it >_> because it isn't obvious, especially when all my pictures are hosted from my site over that of say photobucket.
I'm generally a fan of google. I must admit their video searches are quite annoying. I feel like it gives me more of what I didn't ask to see than what I did. Access to google maps is a most, and it would be hard for bing to top it. The fact that Bing recognizes a question though is something that might make me investigate to form my own opinion.
no contest?
Steam power? Or just water power?
Both, I like 'black box' style steam punk machines. Things that run on or fire or something, and its not really expained how else stuff works. It could be 100% clockwork, but nobody can tell, just see the results and moving parts outside of the main body.

I don't think I've noticed any lengthy amount of time you've been absent from the forums and you've been here since the begining.
I would prefer something a bit more...pagan, barbarian, bloody, Beowulf.
that would certainly be interesting. I do like fantasy settings that clear away from the standard tolkien influenced setting, perhaps going back to more ancient norse setting. Or even more strange, ancient asian or aborigine settings. If I had to pick though, I'd likely still go with medieval, or a mix of cultures with a few

I was thinking along the lines of 'sugar = sugar rush = extra energy needed to get somewhere" and I thought more people would relate to accepting sugar (like cookies and brownies) from a friend over say.... a protein bar, steroid, meal item that
I remember as a kid I dreamed of MoM 2 being the story of a portal opening to a more "modern" world of technology. So it would be the war between the wizards and the technology racess. I dreamed of having a new tome that could be selected that would the "technology tome" and the "spells" you got from it were things like "air strike" and "attack satillite" with summon units including "walking battle tank" and "assassin robot", and enhance spells like "ammo drop-pod" and "self-rep

It wasn't pity karma, it was a friendly pat on the back. it was like climbing a mountain and we both happen to have stopped on ledges near each other and I tossed over a share of my brownies as
Is the cloth map gonna be there in the betas when you fully zoom out?
I'm sure there will be scrolling or minor zoom to account for screen size. you just won't be able to zoom 'in' for 3D. In theory, a crappy PC could turn of 3D graphics all together and still be able to play the game, and if they have a locked zoom for map-mode that would be a little annoying.
Could someone refresh my mind? We know that there only will be two unique races and both will have unique tech trees. But will the tech trees between nations be greatly diversified, or will all humans share tech tree, and all Fallen share theirs? I don't remember if there's been a comment on that.
I'm fairly certain we have no specifics on that yet
