I'm not a big fan of steam, I've only used it for a couple games that had steamworks. In both cases the games were purchased from Amazon well after release and at large discounts. I like digital distribution done right (see GOG.com). I have also purchased from Impulse in the past, but not lately. My order of preference is: GOG.com, Humble Bundle (not a true store currently), or directly from the developer. If its a developer I've had experience with and trust I would purca

No need to drop "Elemental" from the title, or distance FE from it. Anyone with an internet connection (or reading a review) will quickly learn of WoM. I agree with others saying its a new title in the world of Elemental.

Does calculate work in items such as weapons? I've been tinkering with making elemental weapons that grow in attack value based on the number of shards controlled. I actually thought I had this working last night but after trying to adjust the values it doesn't seem to work at all (I'm hoping that I wasn't thinking I had it working but really didn't). Also, along with this would I need the value owner to be PlayerSovereign rather than CastingUnit? Thanks for the guide, it defi

I'm looking to create some weapon and other item mods, I'm just starting to look at some of the core xml files as examples of what is needed. Is there a list or guide with the various Attributes and Values that are valid? For example this section from a short sword:
Unit
Last thursday night for most of you westerners, mid day today for some of us eastern forumites, something bad happened. Impulse started offering updates for elemental without warning that it would just remove the beta software then forbid the users to install/launch the new app.
Odd that this happened, it that I actually tried to update last night when I saw that there was an update available and it wouldn't even

It's sounds like an email or private message would helpful when one has privileges changed. At the same time it sounds like your friend knew he was probably crossing the line, as he thought some posts were warning worthy. People (most) know when they are crossing the line, and wouldn't do so if it were a less anonymous form of communication - your friend should take it as a lesson in forum etiquette. I do find it interesting that your original post defined them as a "moderately angry
Investing the essence to make the land unforsaken I think allows you to build on land that isn't modified by you. You can build a city without essence INSIDe your current borders (or influence). As far as I know it has nothing to do with making land more fertile to put a farm on, though that wuold be an interesting option.
I didn't mean to imply that you use essence to make land more fertile. What I meant, was that since land is normally not at all habitable, and sinc
City Development -- Farms - Not sure what they do either. Says it helps provide food, but there is no "food" indicator anywhere. I would like to see famrs able to be put in other places besides the green farm spot. This should be an option when building infrastructure to build in a less than "ideal" spot. Right now it's seems very very rigid
If you select a city, then hit the resources

Twice while using the Fallen faction with Advernture bonus the game has become very slow, and lags behind any mouse clicks. The first time I just restarted the game, because it started occuring after building my first town. The second game it took 10s of turns before it became noticable. Same, I got a small bar for each of the different types of shards that I built temples on. Though, they seemed to stair step if I remember correctly, rather than all being left aligned.

I've run into a problem loading a saved game as well. DxDiag: http://pastebin.com/m593223dc debug.err: http://pastebin.com/d26c9f38a PS: kryo, this was my first time using pastebin.com. Pretty usefull, have you guys thought about setting up a subdomain on the site, something like elementalbeta

This seems as good of place as any to add some I've encountered in two games. 1. As mentioned above, I've experienced having defeated another sovereign and not having their troops disappear. The cities do but troops stay. The troops also seem to not be interactive (can't be attacked and they don't move). 2. In the relations screen, kingdoms with defeated sovereigns are still listed. 3. First game I played, roads did not appear and I wasn't sure that was happening until

I like the idea of having free markets in the game, as most (if not all) TBS games have centrally planned economies. You run your empire as you see fit, and build whatever you think or want in each town. Of course you then have bonuses and penalties associated with the buildings you put in place. What if it was a free market economy though and the citizens could build what they wanted and/or needed. You would then see your society develop on its own, you would end up with the bonuses and pena
