Raven, I'm stealing your Post Number 21 and transplanting it into another thread along the same vein as this one. Hope you don't mind. (I'll be quoting you so it's not like I'm trying to plagarize you. =P)
So my guess is that since we are at 1Z (kind of implies the end of beta 1) that there will be no major gameplay changes to Beta 1 and all or almost all updates will be to get stability to the point that everyone (I mean 70%+ of everyone) can support moving to Beta 2. This is my guess, any comments on it's accuracy or lack thereof?
A couple. I tend to agree for the most part, but it's not like they won't implement something if
It's impossible to tell multiple units to leave a city. You can see here I've both units selected. (Good thing that quest gave me a Knight... It would've taken me forever to get guys of my own out. Also, please inform me if the image is too small. I've never uploa
*Giggles like a giddy schoolgirl* So much fun! It's a bummer I can't play without getting CtD, but even then, I don't mind essentially replaying the same thing a zillion times. It's great to get a taste of the game we'll be playing this Fall. (Hopefully, anyway... I would hate a Winter, or even worse, 2011 release. T-T) I do have one issue, along the lines of what Tasunke said in post #53. Grouping is not only a little clunky, but it might be

Thanks for the warning! ^^
@StillSingle: Oh, dude, that is quite the mental image... Seriously, how freakin' awesome would that look with the GFX Engine turned on? I'd spend every game doing nothing but trying to find those kinds of things, seriously.... And I'm pretty sure I'd have just as much fun doing that as actually playing the game. =P @John: I can't say I care... If I can get Floating Waterfalls and Volcanoes of Purple Lava in the middle of my cities, I'd do it
Probably not DoomBringer... Actually, almost certainly not... But they've more or less confirmed it's going to be today, and so seeing that in your Inbox is like getting defibrilated while conscious... First, an electric charge (Read: Excitement, =P) and then a sudden burning sensation and a searing pain... Yeah, it's exactly like that. =P
Yeah, everyone who pre-ordered will get access sometime today... Speaking of... I just pulled open my E-Mail... I now want to kill Stardock's automatic newsletter thing... Open my inbox to see "Stardock" as one of the senders, only to find out it's for the Weekend Impulse Buys..... SONOVA BITCH! >.
I hate Double Posting, but the friggen forums won't let me successfully edit my post.... So I'll just have to double post... Edit: Btw, about the Urban Combat. That's not to say it didn't exist, just that it was generally on a smaller scale, with a few swordsmen and other melee guys generally getting caught and killed before being able to retreat. Some Urban Settings in the Medieval Era were made so that they were very easily defensible, even in the st
As to whether or not the Attacking Army could use Forges and Logistics buildings to reinforce/resupply their army? No, definitely not. Here's why. In history, when a Castle-City came under siege, Forge's and the like didn't survive beyond the enemy force showing up outside the wall. They were either moved to a more centrally defensible location, or the Forge itself was destroyed. (Read: Not the entire smithy building, just the Forging Equipment.) This w
There is another thread I posted in that goes into this to a lesser extent, but kind of implies many of the same things you're talking about. https://forums.elementalgame.com/379634 That first section of yours is basically a carbon copy of my post, but the rest builds on the idea a lot, particularly with migration and integration. By that same token, those aspects are missing something. Before I get to that though, I want to reiterate something from my other post
Any Light seems bright when it's the only one. May (God, Sovereign, What-have-you,) have mercy on your soul. Fear is a small, dark tunnel, that seems endless. Many are made to traverse it's length. Few make it. And even those that do aren't left unscathed. In War, I fight. In Peace, I toil. Only in Death, do I rest. Death becomes you. I fight so others won't have to.</e
" Yes I intend to test under Beta 2" - RikazeMA At least a few times anyway. Was never a fan of MP for TBS games, but Elemental's got a lot going for it, so we'll see.
I just thought the idea of someone forgetting to "update" their gender awesome...
....LOL Yes, Female Heroes will be in the game. Yes, you'll have control over who marries and who doesn't. Yes, I'm a male, and I'll be creating a Female Sov. And I don't even have an excuse like Kochujang where I have someone to play my opposite. I just find females easier on the eyes.... And please, don't misinterpret that as, "I think
The real advantage potentially would be to have a force fortified behind enemy lines. If a superior invasion force circumvents the fortification, the force can wreak some havoc, cut supply lines, rally from a safe spot. Otherwise the invading force will expend themselves in a lengthy siege or a costly assault. Forcing (or luring) defenders out of a castle would be an extremely interesting strategy. I don't see why a force that sallies forth should keep its fortification bonus.
<
I mean if you want to make a fort out in the middle of a plain then why can't I just ride past the fort and go burn down the city further down the road? Here in the US forts on the plains were used mostly to protect the soldiers based there I believe, and as a base of operations.
Notice the part about them being bases of operations. Let's define that. Base - A staging area, most commonly for a military purpose. Given the contex
Now, when you say tomorrow... I mean... It's, what, 9:30 where ya'all are at? So, in 2.5 hours? =P Just kidding. Can't freakin' wait! I'll be hounding my E-Mail account so I can see exactly when it goes live. ^^ Keep up the awesome job fellas!
Ahh, okay, yeah, that does sound like it'd work pretty well. =P
I like your idea Seth, but I see one problem with it right away. If you're already in a losing position, chances are your enemy already has the creature/spell/item/what-have-you that you're trying to use to destabilize his power-base. Now, they say turn-about is fair play, but in this case, all it would do is drive you, the losing player, further down the hole. Unfortunately, this is one problem I have a really hard time coming up with any constructive ideas towards solv
I have only an order number in the reciept, so how does one get a valid EWOM serial key?
They'll be sending them out via E-Mail once the next build goes live... So tomorrow... *Sniffle sniffle* Ah well, one more day probably won't kill me....... Probably.... >.>
Well bonuses to those that move out because they have had time to fortify the countryside with traps and defenses etc. *based on Commanders/fort leaders skills* Would be nice.
Could take this one step further even. If you used your Sov in a fort, maybe he could lay Magical Traps nearby to wreak some extra havoc... That sounds like it could be pretty neat.
Like I said, no harm done. You aren't the only one on edge... Though, I'm just cranky from insomnia. =P
I still don't know if this might be the first game where I try multiplayer seriously, but the idea seems bad for solo games. The whole point of something being staggeringly rare is that it will help make a given map truly memorable when you actually find/acquire it. Being able to retain something very special for every single game after I got it would make it seem less impressive with each following game.
The idea is t
@Seth: I doubt, as I'm sure everyone here does, that the dev's would just completely ignore one side. Even if it wasn't vocalized, (written, I guess...) I'm sure the Dev's would have at least considered all their options, and taken our ideas into their world and made as much use of them as they could, and if they work, great, if not, bummer. @Tridus: By that same token, shouldn't the army/group that plundered the caravan also need some way to cart the plundered resou
