Yes. I am going to postpone 12 hours. Let me know if you need more time, louist. I do not have a problem with moving turns to 48 hours if needed. If 24 hours is not enough for those of you with larger empires and wars to fight, let me know.

Certain provinces are victory points. They only matter if the victory point condition is enabled. Victory point win is not enabled for this game, but the victory points still show.
Not my essay, buy any means. When I said I had not finished it, I meant I had not finished reading it yet. It was just something I had found, and I thought it was worth sharing.
If anyone is interested, here is a lengthy, yet interesting essay on Hinnom, Ashod, and Gath. It is more scholarly than gameplay oriented, and I have not yet found time to finish it.
Right. I meant the next turn will be 20. Approaching turn 20 would have been a better choice of wording.
Address changed, turn resent. I also had my turn resent to verify this is working. We are at turn 20 now. Is 24 hours still enough for everyone? edit - I just realized, llamaserver is locked up again. That is probably why the resend is not working. I will postpone hosting, once it gets back up, to make sure you have enough time to get your turn in Kama.
BTW I did not receive last turn, even after asking for resend. Something is horribly wrong. If it prevails, is it possible to change my contact e-mail on llamaserver?
I will look into this. Your email address can be changed. I will have to see how this is done.
I don't know that balanced is the best word for Dominions. I think it is more a case where there are so many options that balance almost becomes a non-factor. There are definitely nations that are easier to win with than others, but there is no unbeatable nation. Also, in multiplayer, diplomacy can bring low the largest of nations.
You definitely do not want to see what he has behind that shield.
Pangea's pretender was hanging out at the beach, and was in a hurry to get orders to the troops, so no time was taken to listen to envoys from the other nations. Overall the Pangean's are having a great time, drinking and frolicking. They see no reason to end the party over such a simple misunderstanding.
Really each country should have a self sustainability core of industry and resource.
This brings me back to my original question. What size territory is appropriate to be considered buying domestic? If America is the right size, does that mean that European nations should buy from all other European nations, since many of them are the size of states? Maybe America is too large. Should states all try to be self-sufficient, and not i
Hinnom is a very strong nation. Hinnom has one big weakness, though. Hinnom is usually a target for everyone else in the game. Not much can unite players like Hinnom can.
I definitely understand RL getting in the way at times. Yeah, this is definitely a game that can absorb a lot of your mental processing during the day. Planning the next turn, planning the overall strategy. Modifying those future plans as circumstances change. Studying your nations details. Studying the strengths and weaknesses of your enemies. Diplomatic discussions. It all gets very intense. I have not made it past turn 20 in a game yet, so I am looking forward to seeing what that i
I do not completely understand the idea behind by American. Why such an arbitrary geographic region? If buying domestic products is better than buying products from around the world, then it seems that buying only from one's state would be better. Perhaps one should stick only with goods produced in ones own city. Each city can be its own economic island, no imports or exports. Such a city would have the best economy in the world.
The official forums also work pretty well. You get an email notification when you receive a PM, and you can subscribe to threads to be emailed when they are updated. I also appreciate the slower pace. It really helps to plan a turn, and makes you less likely to forget about your scouts out patrolling and other little details.
I have noticed the usually garrulous Lord Xia is particularly quiet in this thread. I wonder what sort of plans Tien Ch'i is forming in secret places.
The host computer is locked up, most likely. It is typically updated every minute or so. It has been over 9 hours. When it comes back online, everything should process normally.
Last updated at 06:16 GMT on Saturday May 21st Current time: 15:52 GMT
There are essentially three types of troops. National troops, independents, and summons. National troops are unique to each nation. They are recruitable only at forts. Some national troops can only be recruited at the capital. Meaning there is only one site for a nation that can recruit them. There are also commanders. At any province, you can only recruit one commander per turn. All recruiting is limited by gold, which is a national pool, and resources that are limited to a spe
The manual has a lot of info, though it can be hard to find specifics. Here is a good link for strategy, and it links to the better wiki.
Follow up question: do capitals ever have more sites than what you get when you start the game? Is there any point searching for sites in your home province?
No province will ever have more than 4 sites. Buildings count as sites. Your capital has a fortress, lab, temple, and 1 magic site. No more room for sites.
The helpful Pangean says "No. Forests are worthless. Stay out of forests. You don't want those."
I believe there is a correlation, but I do not know all of the details. I imagine nature sites are more common in forests, earth in mountains, etc.
There are a slew of errors in the manual. A list can be found here on the wiki. I have not learned all of them, and there may be some that are not on there. I am sure to be competitive at the highest levels, it helps to understand all of those intricacies.
Hey emerson: may the sneakiest, cleverest nation win!
Pangea doesn't know anything about sneaking.
I did not mention it in the original post, but if you are going to be unable to finish a turn in time, please let me know and I can postpone hosting. Also, as the game goes on, if you start feeling too much of a time crunch due to the administrative details of your growing empires, let me know and I can change the hosting interval. If you feel that you will be unable to continue playing due to time constraints, please give me the opportunity to try to find a sub.
First into a province is supposed to be random. Despite that, from what I have read, Abysia always goes first. There is no in game penalty for being last. However, if you do not get your turn in before the game hosts (stale turn), that does create a severe penalty. You miss a turn of recruiting, moving armies, etc.
