If one wanted to nerf it (mana shield), I'd say a 95 percent damage reduction. This way you keep a good amount of damage being reduced... Only 5 of 100 gets through. Much better for balance... so the low level units don't hurt you only biggins... The other option is add a max absorbed to the shield... like 500 or something. I prefer option one if any option.

Not sure why it crashed... I just moved to pick up goodie huts and set a usual run on building buildings (merchant, cleric). Nothing should have crashed at that point. Happened after end turn was pressed. The only thing that the game is loading besides the base game is the TremorFix.xml in the items folder in documents. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/75549875

I think this problem here is related to the problem with the tremor spell... for some reason on the strategic level the calculations are not working specifically to the AdjustUnitStat attribute. You can set it to a hard number and it will work fine, but the calculations are not taking place otherwise. So my fix for the tremor will not work in this case, as the heal stat is in this sense going to be varied. Clearly bugged... The Unit for the spell
