Pacing of the Game - Turn SPAM AHOY! This was particularly bad in the game I mentioned where I wasn't able to move my units a lot. Turns consisted of setting a build queue for my city (I didn't even have room to set down a second feasable city!) and then turn spamming. There was nothing else to do. Yes, with the mobs balanced out, you can move around more and have more to do, right? Well... Sort of. Even in my first game where I was really ve

Some of the buildings seem to have pre-requisites, or some other requirement. I say "seem", because I'm not really sure. I know in certain cases I can't build things, but unless its a resource issue it's really not clear why from the UI. This is especially bad when it's due to the settlement level, as the buildings won't show up in the list at all. I'd suggest that all buildings you have the tech to build appear in the list, even if you can't build them. When you mouseover one, have a
I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with the unit medallions. The UI for that definitely needs work.

If you can see Elemental in Impulse, it's already registered.
Certain nVidia cards with newer graphics drivers (how’s that for a change?) are having lighting issues. If you turn off advanced lighting, that’ll fix it as a temporary workaround
As an nVidia user, not very. Their drivers the last six months have been terrible. I'm still using ones from 2009 because they were the last ones that really worked well. It's sad really, drivers used to be an nVidia strength.
Neat. :) [e digicons]k1[/e]

I've been waiting for Jumpgate Evolution forever too. Not sure what the holdup is on that, but it seems like it's been in beta for years.
Seems like it would be fairly easy to do by making the sovereign's starting age a variable at character creation. (As for people taking it the wrong way, historically people married a lot younger. Sameuel de Champlain married a 12 year old girl, for example. The idea that people shouldn't be married until their mid 20s is a very recent thing, in the scope of human history.)
They feel confident in the strength of the Workshop that it either only needs the extra time between now and then, that they are happy with it's pace, and it hasn't presented any problems. And thus would not alter the release date. This one here, indicates they either have the last little bits to finish up, polish etcetera, or that two weeks will be enough according to the time line. So they won't be present for us to

They fight together as a single combined arms unit" Can someone explain this to me, because I have no idea what it means.
In beta 1 (and presumably in beta 2), armies fight together. If you attack someones stack of units, you're attacking *ALL* of them with all of yours. It's not like in Civ
Note that if you pre-order and download the beta, it's not a "demo". You'll be charged. As a warning, some people aren't aware of how Stardock pre-orders work. :) If you're interested in a real demo, there will be one sometime after the games release, tentatively set for August.
Beta 2 is expected soon, check back tomorrow afternoon or Monday. :)
Beta 2 hasn't started yet. Looks like tomorrow. You will get in when that happens. Watch your email for a notice. :)
Do you think there is any chance of them reworking it, or possibly seeing it off for another company to rework? Or do you think its just dead?
Anything's possible, but I wouldn't bet on it. It would take a lot of money to do a rework, and the game's reputation is already cemented. It's really hard to recover from early failure of this scale in a MMO.
why not just make it so that in multiplayer(or both single as well) there is an option to play the game as RT or TB tactical battles.
More seriously, it _does_ seem rather odd to be excluding a flagship system from beta views. I'm of the opinion that there's an element of wishful thinking going on with the magic system -- Stardock is assuming that they've got something fairly well balanced, bug free and ready to go, and they'll only need a quick lick from beta before release. Or maybe, as other posters have said, Stardock already plans to push to the February rel

That said, I'd expect him to stick to the "If you do multiplayer in your game, you do it well or don't bother at all.".
People who want to play multiplayer are obviously going to speak up about it.
The release date seems overly optimistic to me, considering. Magic probably won't get enabled fully until tactical battles are next beta phase, as my guess.

But why argue that all games should keep to one battle system or the other? That would be very boring. So, in changing the system in this case, I could pose the same question
