Age of Wonders 2 improved on the MoM battle formula a bit. Instead of squares it used hexes and it managed to render terrain in 3 dimentions fairly well. An archer standing atop a castle wall would be protected from most missiles fired at him simply because the wall blocked line of sight. You could fit far more units into a city siege than you could in MoM, but the total was ultimately limited to stacks. Elemental seems to be heading in an isometric direction in regards to combat, but

Hopefully this picture makes a bit more sense: The more you tilt the bolt thrower to one side the more the methods at the top and bottom become convenient. Tilt the bolt thrower too far and they are the only methods that work. The method used has an effect on the speed of reloading. But since it takes more time to wind the strings back than it does to load a fresh clip of bolts this is rarely if ever
Im thinkin of switching internet providers some time in the future. The new company reccomends getting a SpeedTouch 585. Anyone used these before?
Speaking of picking it up where can it be found nowadays? I played it a long time ago off of HOTU but then later I never got it working with XP and forgot about it.
Hehe, I think I'm getting way over my head with this. But siege engines will play a part in Elemental and the better we can make them the better the game will be. Im going to try to post this in chunks no more than one screen in height, I have a pretty big monitor so this might vary for you guys. --- So, what is a box magazine? Technically a box magazine is just a magazine, shaped like a box. A magazine is a clip with a dispensing mechanism. So the real question is wha
Fantasy general was HARD. I remember putting it on easy, rolling out as the wizard with magical creatures and getting my ass kicked every time on the second or third mission. The only thing I remember was that the mission had enemy hto air balloons.
A ratchet looks like this. When you pull an object along the ratchet track a little tab falls into prepared notches. This prevents the object from sliding back down the track. Most ratchets only have a single tab and one track. Because of the power involved here I used a much safer arrangement. Instead of a single track there is a track on either side. Instead of one tab there are two on each side
I was doing some thinking in regards to those repeater bolt throwers. Its easy to say "repeater bolt thrower" but I realised I had little idea how such a thing would actually work. As an experiment I'm going to see how well I can draft up the technical details and describe it all on paper. Maybe after that I or someone else can have a go at drawing it. A crossbow is relatively simple if you leave out advanced features like a trigger. It is simply a bow mounted onto a stick that acts a
Greh, well back when I read it the Tower and the Hive was an actual book instead of a series. That whole rebranding shtick is pretty common now.
Sure it is - Archive the games and put them on a seperate drive. If you have a crash, you re-install them by unpacking the archive.
Not quite. If you drag the steamapps folder to another installation of steam your programs will function normally 100% intact. All of them. Steam will simply check them for updates once and off you go. Your settings, mods and such will all be transferred at the same time. Pretty much the only thing you ca
Great, time to get back into sins!
I doubt there is a single gamer out there who can successfully argue that having both Steam and Impulse is worse than either or none. I still prefer Steam for two reasons. Programs installed to Steam will survive an OS crash and can be transferred to any other Steam install by dragging over a single folder. Currently Impulse is not capable of this, but it would be nice to see something to that effect in the future. The second reason is that simply put, all my friends are already on Steam. I a
Sounds great.
Actually that would be kind of neat. See if you set up your empire lore to be a bit like the roman empire your soldiers would be organized into legions. So in the game infantry units built in different cities would each come from a different legion. You might go into battle with soldiers from Legio XXI (or 21) and cavalry from Legio III (or 3). What we can do with something like this depends entirely on how much control we have over detail and our ability to link units to situ
It seems like you're agreeing with me but in a contrarian way.
Maybe sort of? I think we tied that thread of conversation into a knot, I'm not quite sure where its going.
But then you are dividing resources into nodes and only so many nodes can fit on the same map. The resources might not be finite but the scale and setting certainly is.
tacticular cancer? Thats a good one [e digicons][/e]
*oops forgot to edit this into the first post. *
Exactly that was my point, once resources run out you typically reach a point where whichever "sitting duck" happens to have the best army standing will win. All gameplay after that point is a <strong
23: Patches should not change game settings if possible . I didn't happen to me but for some of my friends one of the L4D patches reset thier video settings, this included turning multicore support back on resulting in a well known stuttering issue. If there is a technical excuse why patches must do this, they should at the very least inform the player that this has taken place. 24: Include the ability to back up game settings in an external file.
Re my Bob remark, I wasn't thinking of changing him, I was just repeating my hope that not all champion units will be combat-oriented. Thought I didn't give her a backstory I did create a pyromancer engineer. Being able to control heat would allow an engin
Any of you ever spare thought towards earthquake proofing? There is apparantly a massive one building up on the west coast that has yet to cut loose. Its a tossup as to when it will actually happen but the smart people say "probably within our lifetimes". I have about 50 odd pounds of stuff shelved over my computer desk and if the big one hits it will all rain down on me and my computer.
Current card I have is an 8800 GTS 512. So uninstalling both the drivers and the phyxs stuff should do the trick? The new drivers contain an updated version of physx and there might be problems if it gets overwritten.
22. In-game volume controls. Multiple subcomponents here: 22a. Mute buttons. Notice the plural? Having a mute button is great but something that would be even better would be to include multiple mute keys. One key would mute all game sound period, others could selectively mute things like announcements (like map pings), music and voice chat if that was included. 22b. Volume dimmer switch . When playing Left 4 Dead for example, whenever someone speaks using voi
Anne McCaffrey's pegasus series is predated by its prequels The Rowan, Damia and a few other books in that series. Tower and the Hive comes much later in the story line.
Im running XP SP3. Is it safe to get rid of the video drivers and the physX stuff through the add/remove menu? Or do I need a special utility?
