But if you had the ability to downgrade your game version without too much trouble, you would have no problems using mods that rely on outdated game files while being able to load the most current game version whenever you want to. This is important because a new trend is for content delivery systems and multiplayer hubs to automatically update your game, often without your consent. In other cases you are free to download any patch you wish even if they are not the most updated versio

Heh, I knew that statement was oversimplified out the wazoo when I wrote it. But if you expand just a bit on it, it does make a lot of sense in other ways as well. For example, if you trying to learn how to draw, never finishing a drawing can only teach you to make mistakes. The key is that when you draw things for yourself. YOU are the person who gets to decide when a drawing is finished or not. Being able to competently decide when a drawing is incomplete or when further work would

For a slam dunk diagnosis simply ask the suspected person to get off the computer. If the response you recieve is some form of "I can't honey, someone on the internet is wrong ". Then by all means seek help immediatly.

Ive been slowly teaching myself to draw on paper. If there is one thing I have learned its this. Any drawing is a mistake, until its done .

Yes but that assumes you leave the DVD player on or in stand by mode. I don't like that at all because it just wastes power and I could calculate how much money it costs me every minute I leave it plugged in. 21. In-game backwards compatibility in regards to patches. Patches are usually a good thing but sometimes they also break things as well. Perhaps a new hotfix changes something that breaks your favorite mod. Or a beta build has overwritten your game files and the only wa
Quoting Tamren, reply 25[...] Also, none of you got the Enders Game reference? Im shocked I never did see that movie. I'm more of a Sci-Fi person, myself.
MOVIE?!?! *facepalm* [e digicons]X|[/e] Speaking of sci fi thought, with a bit of reskinning do you think the elemental game terrain could pass for a field of stars?

That brings up the idea of your elemental map being part of a creature. You know instead of the world being a planet, the universe is really a turtle who carries the world on his back. Or it could take place inside a giant worm or something. Map generation would be... interesting to say the least. Also, none of you got the Enders Game reference? Im shocked [e digicons]8|[/e]

Hi guys. It seems to be time to update my video card drivers again. The current version I have installed is 180.48. This is somewhat confusing because these do not appear in the Nvidia driver archive. Anyway the latest version to come out is 181.22. Because of the problems I had in the past with this rig I ended up installing windows and the like from scratch multiple times. This is the first time I am in a position to be replacing older video drivers. The last time I did this was bac

That is fine in a multiplayer setting. But what about singleplayer? A 200 unit cap in a multiplayer game of 12 people indicates that the game engine is more than capable of hosting 2400 units at once. Its not really meant as a mandatory feature, just a big tip.

My biggest hope is that the player community can crystalize what it wants and that Stardock can deliver. My biggest fear is that we will not be capable of making bear paladins, and otherwise cross the line twice with awesome.

A Sins RPG would rock. Just imagine if they made the game engine similar to the one used in Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. Now THAT would make my day. [e digicons][/e]

From what I gather essense is most definitely a finite resource. But What has not been explained yet is how it can be lost. If you imbue essense into a ring and it gets thrown into mount doom or something, do you get that essense back, does it disperse into the enviroment or does it get sucked down a black hole? Its a bit like the law of thermodynamics. If essense can be destroyed then it is plausible that all the channelers in the world could end up with no essense at all. And that d

Noctilus does have some valid points in the context of strategy games. I think we just have to rephrase them a bit: Strategy 1&2: No arbitrary cap on unit logistics . No limiting the size of armies "just because we can". The longer a conflict lasts the more resources are deployed to win it. Not the other way around. It is possible to win any conflict by turtling and building up an overwhelming force. Games often make this impossible just to make it impossible. It is a whol

To give you a sense of scale, one ground tile is about 20 feet wide. Each elevation level is 5 feet. The units are not to scale, and sorry about the bear proxies but they were the one item I couldn't draw.

I got a G5 on sale for 30 bucks and its great. Its essentially a G7 only its corded so it is much lighter. If you go that route make sure you get the newer versions of the g5 and 7, IIRC the old version only has one thumb button. Do your best to try out the mouse before you buy. I used the G5 in a store once and it fight my hand great so I didn't look any farther.

When I said "easier" I was talking about energy expended. Anyone can go to a cliff and fall off the edge to reach the bottom, but few people have the skills or stamina to climb up a cliff face.

Its easy enough to sum up the effects. For moment, going downhill is easier than going uphill. This will grants units a defensive bonus against melee enemies fighting uphill. As well units moving downhill will be able to build up more momentum and be sucessful in charge attacks. For missile weapons, elevation will always increase the maximum range of your weapons relative to the ground. Using the mount everest example, if you measured the mountainside as linear distance then a
