I agree completely - my games so far consist of 4 hero units with spells and high initiative fireballing whatever they want round one. Mixed with the trait that gives you +3 mana per kill on my sovereign, I actually gain mana every battle (the bigger the battle, the more mana). This is clearly broken. There is no city I can't walk into, fireball 2 or 3 times, and win without the enemy even moving. Besides the obvious fireball/blizzard + quick (or whatever gives you +10 initi
Try playing on ridiculous. I found it MUCH harder. The AI was very aggressive early game, and the huge nerf on hero levelling made it very hard to counter wave after wave of greyguard and other mid level troops.
As long as we are talking about wishes..... 1. Flying creatures. 2. Non hero units that can use one or two magic spells. 3. More opportunities to raise troops of monsters to fight for a faction.
1. Flying mounts too :) Might be difficult with the current battle mechanics though... 2. I like that only champions can use spells, makes them extra precious and magic seem extra rare.
I have been frustrated by these issues as well - right clicking 'deletes' instead of edits [e digicons]:'([/e] Mouse scroll would also be nice.
Thanks. I'm about to check in a lot of new AI stuff that should make things significantly tougher. Next week I start on tactical battle fun.
You guys are shoulder to shoulder with the best PC developers out there - Valve, Paradox etc. Its not often you see a lead developer take an interest in their own forum. You guys have no idea what it means (to me at least) to see you take an active interest in improving you
I have posted pages and pages of criticisms on this forum. After the patch, the game is MUCH better. - I can't win NEARLY as easily, which is probably the single biggest improvement. AI's actually attack me. I lost 3 times today on ridiculous, which has never happened before. -exp nerf makes the game much more challenging. -heal nerf ditto -tech pacing is better -giving heroes injuries if they fall in ba
King Arthur 2, which comes out in a couple of days, handles city management in a similar way (minus the amazing tile art). I love the idea.
This is not a "early beta". I am not trying to be mean in any way but the entire Elemental release is the beta for FE. A lot of the stuff that is cropping up should of been nailed down over the last one and a half years since elemental was released. The only reason I have held on to elemental is because of galactic civ and how much it change from expansion to expansion.
This is my fear as well. A lot
Hi, Full disclaimer: I want to love this game. I loved MoM, and have loved all of this games cultural influences, like HoMM (played them all, including the 1st King's Bounty), The Civ series (including the Fall from Heavan mod for Civ 4), most other Stardock games (MOO series, Sins, GC series etc). This is EXACTLY the kind of game I love. I know this is beta, so I would like to share what I think makes this game somewhat unenjoyable at the moment. It is WAY to
Great post! I would like to add: I think its dumb that archers can fire while in combat. It should be more HoMM style, where engaging archery troops in melee removes their ability to shoot, creating meaningful tactical situations.
I could not agree more. I made a post similar to this somewhere else. Switching between them is extremely tedious.
It would be nice if the 'equipment' and 'trade' tabs were somehow combined. I find it really tedious double clicking my champion to figure out what they have, then going into the separate trade menu to give it to someone else. Even having the trade button accessible from within the view hero/equipment view would be great.
I totally agree with everything here. 1. Especially with the auto end turn, I found it hard to figure out if it was still in one turn, or moving in the next. Having a movement bar that was visible and intuitive would really help, especially on the icon in the top left, so I could see who has movement points at a glance. 2. Maybe not blink, but identify them somehow. It should blink when you zoom out to the strategic view. Double clicking thi
Very annoying, makes me need to fight even pointless battles.
Totally agree with 1 and 2. Reordering the build queue would be really helpful, and separating buildings/units makes sense.
Seems to kind of rip off the civilization series...
