Regarding my first post, it seems a bit off to me that 5 or more groups of ranged troops will all be fixated on firing at a healer 200 yards away while my armored louts are surrounding them ready to chop them in half. Self preservation should override any other priority. It really becomes an unintended exploit for the human player. This is an AI that I have seen in many other games. For instance, in the Baldur's gate series, my group would pound a

This is a game I really enjoy. The one thing that I think should be improved is how AI ranged troops continue to plink away at my sovereign ( who easily shrugs off the attacks) even though my armored louts are standing right next to them getting ready to chop them in half on the next turn. Every combat against the AI tends to unfold the same way making the combat much easier than it should be. Does everyone experience this?
Seanw3 is right about the face hugger injecting a queen into Ripley, but it occured in the timeline between the 2nd and 3rd movies. This was a major plot hole for Aliens 3 since it is hard to believe that Ripley would put herself in stasis without checking every aquare inch of the ship for alien eggs first. Anyway, looking forward to seeing Prometheus on Sunday.
My country, Canada, is similar to Australia in that respect. Opposite to that of the U.S., any of our governments here in Canada think the answer to everything is to raise taxes. There seems to be some strange corelation. The higher the taxes, the happier the population.
Hey, wait a minute! I use windows Vista (desktop) and IE 8. Rarely have I had any problems: Skyrim, Crysis, even Elemental have all run well on it. By the way, I am exactly 3" tall and that is a perfectly good heighth to be! So there.
The person responsible for this post needs to stop drinking first thing in the morning when they get up. Ridley Scott has never had any association with the Transformer trilogy or with Liam Nielson. The only other possibility is that they are trying to be funny, but nobody else thinks so.
"Alright you maggots." "Pikes in front. archers behind." -Orc general(LOTR).
Seems to be working OK now.
I believe that inclusion of a necessary water element puts Frogboy between a rock and a hard place. In order for the AI to use them, it will be necessary to metagame and that is something that Frogboy has intimated that he would like to avoid. Boats were removed from EWoM not because the players coudn't take advantage of them, but because the AI didn't know what to make of them. With boats there is no clear set of goals to pursue. Metagam
Got it! Battle for Wesnoth (Manifesto Games). This one has been out for a while apparently.
Sorry, double post!
ElanaAhova Warlock:Master of the Arcane is being produced by Paradox Interactive. It is a turn based fantasy strategy game that seems to be a cross between EWom and Master of Magic and is set in the established Majesty universe. The other is an indie game that I lost track of. Someone else posted information on this forum about these two games a while back. I'll try to track down the indie game for you.
Not only boats, but naval vessels, sea monsters, flying mounts and flying monsters. Otherwise, we'll just end up with another spreadsheet game for a small number of hardcore guys. FE really needs to have a wow factor as there are couple of fantasy strategy games coming out next year that will have those things.
I grew up in the 1950's when the gallows was for real. Corporal punishment was also the norm (usually for sex offenders). A 7' mechanical strap was set in the centre of a prison room. The prisoner would be tied to a post at one end of the room and one of two guards would pull a lever at the other end of the room ... WHACK! No more than one or two were administered at a time since more could cripple or kill the prisoner. Some prisoners were sentenc
Tridus, I believe Bethesda already has. I am struck by the similarity of much of the artwork in the game. I'm sure that some of the artists for Fallout 3 are working on this game. If you take a close look at the barrels, desks, detritus, etc., they look virtually identical to those in Fallout 3.
I have never played an fps in my life as my tastes run to rpgs and strategy games. Yet I am somewhat intrigued by this game and have been following all the developer videos and gameplay trailers and it seems as if this game has a little more to it than most fps games. Of course, it's still too early to tell for sure, but the more I follow it, the more I think of actually purchasing this game. I think the watchword here is guarded interest. Have any of you
Do you really want to turn the game into a wallpaper? The tactical combat is not great, but is it really that bad?
Quite a mixed bag. Mostly good things, I think, but sorry to hear Janusk is gone. He helped me out a lot with my income tax. He will be missed (well, Im probably the only one who thinks that).
The game is called War of Magic for a reason. Magic is your friend. Learn it, treasure it. Magic ignores armour class. Go to Mods and download Murteas Grimoire. It will help you out, especially in the early game. Give as much priority to the magic tree as is practical. Get an earth elemental if you have an earth shard. Get Firestorm if you have a fire shard. Get Winter's Grasp if you have a water shard. Create a custom sovereign and give him or her the assasin trait. Also, look for champi
I cerainly agree. It gave the sovereign a bit of personality, something the game could use more of!
LOL. Sethai, you are such a madcap.
1 - I build harbours and boats in every game and find them very useful for exploring, colonizing, and even carrying stacks from time to time, depending on circumstances. A good tactic is to transport a pioneer and a defending stack (along with a sovereign's kid - for the erosion spell) to a far away area where an enemy faction is located. Once the settlement is established, your sovereign can teleport a killer stack there and capture the closest city, which is usually not well defended. T
I should have mentioned that I was using the Fishmarket mod by Takao21. So you have seen harbours and boats before. I have yet to see boats, but I guess the AI doesn't exist for them. You should try the Fishmarket mod. It may not be very sexy, but it will double food production fairly early on (at city level 3 after building a harbour).
During my current game while playing on normal, my stack of badasses was rolling up the Resolyn Empire after they declared war on me for breathing too loud. Lo and behold, I came across two Resolyn cities not only with harbours, but with fishmarkets as well! Not only that, but their cities were also queing up more than one development at a time. I don't know if this was just a fluke or if Frogboy has been quietly working in the background. Has anyone else come across any surprises like th
La,la,la, the devs can't hear you.
