I am surprised by your post and wonder if it is just a random thing. I just finished a complete game (800+ turns) of 1.19 and right from turn 10 or so, I was getting bum rushed by a steady stream of bandits, spiders, wolfs, crazed Walmart associates, etc. What world setting were you using?

Sid Meir's Alpha Centauri with the expansion is still available on Amazon.com for $20.00. It was the highest rated tbs game in computer gaming history. I played it a lot! The only downside is that it is not really a game, but a simulation and whatever you did, the game would evolve on it's own. It was quite possible to play a near perfect game only to have the engine blow one of the other factions through the roof (usually Yang) making the game unplayable and r
The colours will eventually lock but this section is a little wonky and you have to double check to make sure the colours have'nt changed when you go to another section. Always double check them just before saving. I find that if you name the faction and then choose your faction crest first, the colour options seem more stable. If your text disappears just left click on the page and it will reappear. Skin tone on the faction creation screen cannot b
I'm a magic freak - I'll get to that in a minute. First off I have my little sorceress marry Janusk (renamed Ar-Farazon) as soon as she levels up - does'nt take long! I start each game with the goal of maxing out gilder production by spamming pioneers to create cities and outposts as close together as possible. This allows me to quickly set up extensive caravan routes to maximize cash flow. I research the adventure tree early to spam food sources and plunk a pioneer on them eve
I have a 15 year old daughter who's an alien.
All you need do is step across their line enclosing their ZOC. They will warn you and if you continue, they declare war on you. Then you can attack them.
Check your original post for a couple of replies which should set your mind at ease.
At the moment, there are no huge maps available except some modded ones. Huge maps will be included in future iterations of the game. They are excluded for now until OOM issues are resolved. You may not see it listed as such, but if you choose to play on a large map, a large generic one within the game will be spawned. I play on this large map all the time. There is nothing wrong with your game - the instruction manual was printed before huge maps were temporarily set aside while OOM issues a
You are not alone in your approach to the game. I love to go the magic route as well. Thanks to the inceased stability of version 1.11, my little elven sorceress (with 4 fire shards in her empire!) was dropping bombs like it was the Great War and her 3 sons, armed with Ythril bows, mowed down the few irradiated survivers while a fully buffed earth elemental played guard dog - priceless. It's an indication of how great this game is going to be once Kael and the
' The beatings will continue until morale improves'.
There appears to be something weird going on with the game mechanics as they apply to empire cities. They do not suffer any consequences with negative resource values. In my last game, i had surrounded and cut off Magnar's capitol city (the only city he had left) and taken over all his external resources. At the beginning of the siege, he was at -40 gilder and -3.8 food with 0 materials and 0 population. He had 17 guard units in the city including himself and had a power rating of 134. 100 tu
I agree with the OP. Giving champions more of a fantasy flavour would really help the game. It struck me as amusing that the first npc to join you in a game called War of Magic was - Fred in Accounting! When I played the game for the first time, I was sort of expecting something like an elven ranger riding a winged unicorn.
Diplomacy 101: "Hand over your wallet and car keys or your kid gets it!" Diplomacy 102: "As a gesture of good will, I would like to offer you 500 gilder for that piece of lint on your lapel." Reply: " I find your offer ..... disappointing." "Well, ... okay then, how about this fireball up your ass!" Diplomacy 103: Kraxis to my avatar - " I think our kids should marry." My avatar replies, "I think that would be a good idea." Kraxis, Ha,Ha ....
How does a sovereign cast tactical spells? When I enter tactical combat, the spell casting icon at the bottom left of the screen disappears even though my sovereign has learned the tactical spells, has lots of mana and action points and meets the level requirements.
Currently, caravans are almost certain to be trashed by by a spawning creature on the map within about 30 turns. They would be a more viable asset if they could only be destroyed if the host city or designated city was razed or captured. Does anyone else think this would be a good idea?
