Any suggestions? this may be a bug, but I wanted to see if I am the only one with the problem before open a thread in support.

I turned off 'Use Fullscreen' and restarted. I am not alt-tabbing to my hearts content. From a play perspective the window is still using ALL of my screen when it is 'focused' but I am able to alt-tab without crashing.
DX Invalid Call when I alt-tabbed between windows. Windows XP 2GB RAM. After clicking okay ... Elemental crashes and I send an error report to Microsoft. ... Do the error reports to Microsoft do anything?
I was confused if I had hit a bug thinking that the second act didn't fire. A place holder for "Magesta" saying "coming soon" or "TBD" would be good.
You need to send a sovereign or 'special' guy to trigger the warning... at least that working in my campaign. Also ... you need to contact all 3 (4?) civilizations to warn them.
I think this may already be addressed ... and I had the same behavior ... We it crashed it would report the error to Microsoft, but not create and Elemental crashlog. I think Windows intercepted the crash rather than elemental. I also think this was related to the memory leak they were having ...
I still enjoy playing the game occasionally, but with the huge changes that I hear the Dev's are doing, plus the fact that the 'Gold' version is now in production... Is there any benefit to bug reports we are submitting? Should we be waiting until 0-day? The memory was the big issue which as been solved. It sounds like gameplay has already been significantly changed, as well as monsters and balance... So I am not sure if there is anything I can do with bug
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9549473/Elemental0_98-2010-08-03T20-09-55-671.zip I see to be getting the crash in the same memory location if Windows is reporting correctly. I will keep uploading as they occur until you let me know they aren't helping or you have it solved ...

[quote who="Das123" reply="38" id="2704213"] Quoting CreeDakota, reply 27Several people have pointed out the negatives of the xml approach for faction and race creation and modding; namely accessibility and balancing. What is the upside? What is the sophistication that Frogboy hints at? The downside of only having an in-game editor is this... A purpose-built editor within the game needs to be able access and use resources. It would be built based on what is cur
I have had Elemental Crash about 3 times with this error. Windows is catching it so no Elemental Crash file is created. I am sending the error reports to Microsoft... And I can grab the 'what I am sending' if it helps. I am on DX9c
Agree on aggressive. I tend to walk over the other kings in the first 50-100 turns.
This may be a performance issue instead. I walked away to get some tea .. it cycles, but eventually started. It just took longer to build the world than it sometimes did. Maybe feedback on the world build would be usefull? (e.g. Place goody huts ... etc)
Let me rephrase ... Elemental hangs and I have to kill in Task Manager. No crash file is generate in All Users/Stardock/Elemental The other thing I can add is the I never 'Save' my Sovereign. I just make him and launch ... but the Sovereign shows up in future games as an option to select ... but then the game never starts.
There is 'difficulty' on world creation. And then difficulty for each kingdom. Perhaps it is in the manual, but, as best I can determine, only the kingdom difficulty matters..
I just wanted to follow and say that I can confirm this multiple runs. If I am the only one maybe I need to reinstall. Select prior created sovereign. Start Game. Endless cycle startup screen. (panning view of landscape)
Can you post your DxDiag? Do you have an unusual video card or default resolution?
OR were you killed or force to retreat in combat? That will reduce essence as well.
Thanks ... I re-read the sticky and forget to look in 'All Users' ... here are the curent crash, and some old ones that might help track the memory leakage issues. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9549473/Elemental0_92-2010-07-29T00-47-03-937.zip http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9549473/Elemental0_92-2010
Not sure what file to load ... I created a custom sovereign. I played through part of game, decided to restart. Now the world creation just cycles. Workaround if to create another sovereign, but not sure what happened.
Just a couple of random crashes that I can't isolate or figure out what to send .. Outlook fired a 'calendar alert' and Windows switched away from Elemental. When I came back it reported DX Error::Invalid Call ( I think) Windows is capturing crash logs ... Can you get the crash logs from Microsoft?
[quote who="Cauldyth" reply="26" id="2693760"] Quoting marlowwe, reply 14This is actually extremely disappointing. I accept (reluctantly) that you want Elemental to skew towards the singleplayer side at the expense of multiplayer (fundamentally I disagree with this). But dismissing a core mechanic of the game in such an offhand manner is premature on your part. There are some cold, hard facts that justify Stardock's decision though. Only a tiny fraction of TBS players ev
One thought ... Make Diplomacy affect city influence area? That would make Diplomacy extremely valuable. Another posibility would be to intentionally make a tech more of a 'supporting' tech. e.g. You can have spells for everything .. so 'Spells' becomes a supporting tech that can ... summon warrior (warfare), Build roads (civ), or make people like you (diplo), adventure (gratn champs a bonus) ... rather than making magic and in and of itself. As someone else sa
