Hope one of the features is fixing the crashes. Still can't play more than an hour before crashes.
LucidCon
well i played until i crashed 20min in - haven't played since. its a nice story
Well, I am in the same boat. I started a game today and crashed before I could even start my 2nd city - guess what.... I am not even going to start a new game. I have been beta testing this game for awhile and I have never ever EVER been able to complete a game all the way through because of crashes. So sorry stardock - you had your chance with me anyways.
isnt it amazing how much work and time it takes to get the ai in a game right before release, I mean...um.. after release
same problem here - what is the answer? the unfortunate thing is if I have to uninstall to try it again - i will probably leave it uninstalled now i get a decompression error due to it being already in use or something - sorry but my tolerance level for this game is too low to be fiddling with it over and over - broken game at launch and can't play even now
realistically we will never see tactical battles like that - no point in demanding /thread and before we can even begin to think about larger battles changes to core tactical gameplay and balance need to be addressed - then at that point numbers do not equal more fun instead in wasting time demanding big battles how about we demand fun battles? whether big or small? how about strategic with choice? this thread is a divergent - i blame the false hope, bait and s
Wow that picture...talk about false marketing.
never noticed if the AI was particularly bad - they are not that aggressive early on. My cities don't get attacked too much just the resource areas. I wonder if there are user made mods that tweak or improve the AI? Because if the AI is poor I just don't know because I'm new to the game - but eventually I won't be.
Any good Age of Wonders Shadow Magic guides out there? I just started playing and I am having trouble on custom scenario games. I expand well early game but then I have trouble protecting my borders. I get several heroes also just groups of units but it is a lot to protect. Not only do you need units to protect your cities but all your resources as well. Considering that the movement points in the game is low - you can't quickly protect resources immediately. So alot of my gold mines
posts like these are what will make elemental the game we hope for good work
bump for positivity - i do have some

Rishkith quotes froggy saying: The global resource pool with localized tracking adds a great deal of strategic depthWhat the heck is 'localized tracking' -- is that a fancy way of saying they sum up all similar resources produced b
[quote who="Rishkith" reply="11" id="2764061"]Yeah, this is where beta really started (and then continued) to just go wrong for me. The old economic system was rather popular and made the game a lot more tactical, strategic, and fun. There were a couple long official discussion threads over what type of economy people wanted and they clearly wanted some complexity and not global resources. Then after an off-topic user created discussion thread about housing with little involvement

[quote who="Tridus" reply="112" id="2759743"] What about all the beta testers back in June who were telling you? You and Istari both responded to us by saying flat out that we didn't know what we were talking about, that the game was "far ahead" internally of what we had, and that you would simply ignore feedback about it in the future. It turned out that we actually did know what we were talking about, and nobody at SD wanted to hear it. I really hope that next time if
Good job. Can't wait to try it out!

I actually think the devs didn't listen to us closely enough when we said the game is not ready of release. We never even got a chance to test all the components together. Any criticism towards the game as unfinished was nuked by the moderators and Brad himself who told one beta tester to go play Civ5 rather than waste time with this game. It is comments like those that are truly revealing as to the events that led up to release
Good news. One of my concerns is city spam that I don't see mentioned too much. Maybe not a critical issue but I think it is important. In one game the AI and I had some cities just one tile apart from each other across the entire continent. Perhaps cities built too close would leach off of each other's resources - thus encouraging fewer cities and higher degree of strategic city planning. And consider transparent maintenance costs that increase the more yo
I remember Brad a couple months before release questioned whether or not the game would be ready. Then in like a week he said we will make our release date. Honestly, imo - I think he wanted the game to be done so he could take his sabatical and code some ai or mod. He wanted out of the office. Notice how he took a vaca right at release when the game is in the shape it is in? I and others said the game was not ready and he got on these forums and made us sound like trol
