"You seem to confuse "have no friends" with "know better then to play online with strangers and have no friends that play Elemental Fallen Enchantress who would like to play it in multiplayer while having compatible schedules". No, you seem to confuse "Would you pay $1 to have multiplayer", which every person on earth who play MP would of course say a resounding "Yes", to "I'm voting no to keep MP out because I have no friends to play with and am affraid to

Quoting Omnax1, reply 16 I do not understand why people who do not want to play MP vote no. Question is not, do you want to play MP or not? But If you want MP, would you be willing to pay a dollar for it? I would and I would like it very much. No special modes, no different rules. Just make it work, and make it easy for people to play together. No OOS. No crashes. Allow modding for MP. Other than that keep gameplay same as SP. you are absolutely right, way better than i could say it &

For those enjoy all aspects of MP, and are confused by the near hostility of some towrds you: There are a lot of people that are "game loners" out there. For many, the games they play are their lives. They don't have or don't want others around when they play. When you hear/read things like "it will take too long", that's loner talk for "real people will be in the game, and I don't like it". To them, you are doing a dire

I have not written on these forums for a VERY long time, but I have to reply to this thread. Age of Wonders made a turn based game; simultanious turns; tactical battles, and a decade later Stardock can't? Seriously? Seriously??? I've been playing games for 35 years; computer games since pong. I know many gamers, and none buy/play TBS games to "hurry"through them. You name the TBS game, I and my friends have played them, all M

Exactly Goodgimp. If, right now, we had a co-op MP game of WoM we could play (we could care less about balance right now, or ever, if we don't find it challenging, we will turn up the difficulty) we would be in heaven. We have no wish to change the game itself in any way, just play it co-op, exactly as it is.

FB has said he's working so hard on WoM because years from now, when people look back at the game (or pick it up in the bargin bin) that is won't be a negative experience; so it will be positive; a good legacy. MP was not just listed on the box, it was talked about in depth durring it's creation process. So SD has two choices: They can put in a great MP (as was advertised and touted) and have people enjoy it for years to come, and look back on the game as a positive, or they can

HoMM; Age of Wonders have incredible MP. How many years old are they? EwoM could have great MP too. Nothing needs to be different in the game except making it MP or hotseat. Period. We want to play Co-op here, that's all, just like most the other games we have. AoW did it a decade ago, and Stardock can't? Really? In my opinion, Elemental and especially it's sequal could (and still might) blow Age of Wonders MP out of

Now that's the truth Jedi. I helped a friend put together a Lan this last weekend. After trying to get several of his games to work on it, he suggested AoW:SM. I declined, because, well, had been so long since I had played it, and I thought it would be "old". But after 15 mintues of play, I was reminded how much fun it was. And the TBS multiplayer is near perfect. 13 years old, and, it sadens me to say I enjoyed playing it today it more than I

Gee Wilikers, your right Chunga, why in the world would people who bought a game, a TBS game, that had 16 multiplayer on the box want to play MP when they can stay home and play a much "faster" game with others [e digicons]o_O[/e]

Oct. Nov. Dec. It's now Jan, still no MP. Ren, Yes it is painful, but I suggest looking to other possible MP games. My friends all gave up. But I, I still check here once a month. Always Nothing.

No tactical battles? I know a lot of gaming people. I don't know one that would purchase a game of this type, build cities, research techs, customize their armies and spells, only to get a pop-up box on the battles outcome. Not one. That includes me. I'm sorry, I've totally given up on this game and SD. I'm just glad I did not drag all my other friends into this. If MP people show "interest", THEN you'll put work into MP??? Th

MP was talked about since I first read about the game; it was stated up to 32 players back then I beleive. It's on the BOX for gosh sakes. An "afterthought"??? [e digicons]XD[/e] So many people lifting their skirts and jumping up on chairs, all "squeally" that starting an advertised (and basic) function of a game will take some part away from their SP gaming time. <img id="rg_hi" class="rg_hi" style="width: 83px; height:

MP is suppose to come out this week. This will be when the "Stats hit the fan". I'm guessing with the current build, most people will retreat the majority of the time if they are outclassed by ATK. There will be no strategic options (nor Magical/Spell options) to give you any hope of winning otherwise. It's not like you can outthink, out maneuver, flank, or counter you opponent's stratagies, so what is the use of fighting unless there's a cat playing agai

Dexterity is already in the game. I know it effects Defence (now) but it seems to me the easiest attribute to also add in an initiative system (and maybe the hit/miss system for melee). Right now, having ALL one side going, then ALL of the other is so overpowered. Imagine a battle with two magic casters: One with low Dex that usually casts last, but has large/powerful spells, vs another that usually goes first, can cast lots of little spells. Add in some magi

[quote who="falconne2" reply="18" id="2759052"]The problem with Elemental right now for me is, even once the major stability and AI are fixed, it's just... too.. simple. For a 4x game it lacks strategic depth. There isn't much to do as a builder - city building is very simplistic and shallow, as is the economic model. It's very rare that you have to make choices or trade offs, because it's fairly obvious what the best thing to do is. After playing one or two games, you can figure out the best

Well, here's the sad thing. I have the entire 3 day weekend off, and this new game I've been so excited to get/play for months, and I just tried playing it for another hour, and quit (after a LONG battle I was winning locked up, and I could do nothing but exit the game). So beside my computer the Elemental box sits. I have all the time in the world to play it, and no desire to at this time [e digicons]:\[/e]

You heard me. For the first time, I've played Elemental for hours, and I did not "not have fun". After 1.7, I got my first CTDs. 3 of them. SD ask me to try to recreate them and send them some info; so I did; for hours; no luck (or is it no unluck?). Anyway, in all those hours, with the patch making the game not move slower than Kirsty Alley in a pool of cold maple syrup, and my groups of 4+ actually healing up after damage, I could actually, finally, try th

I installed the patch, and loaded up my saved game. It ran REALLY smooth; I could seen the improvement. But I noticed that the materials my cities were making were not being displayed (on some cities). I checked and rechecked, but the material stat was missing on some cities (and yes, there were making materials). Anyway, I just continued on with my game about 5 turns, and got my very first CTD. Just "boom" and I was looking at my wallpaper. I'm gussing t

Good thinking, that's a even better reason Robert, to have a reason to use special abilities, and how about this: you get mana regeneration in a battle if you don't use the same spell (or type of spell) for a turn; maybe even MORE mana regeneration if you don't cast anything for a turn durring battle. . .
