I got the LE. It came with a CD of over 20 tracks. When I play the game, the SAME music plays, over and over, forever. SAME music in every battle. Is this a bug? Or is that how it's meant to be and can it be modded. Also, is there any way to mod in magic resistances for units in tactical battle. Or at least an area I can see where the are listed (I'm a total modding noob, but would learn to improve this game). Thanks for any help or info in

If they simply put generic magic, and specific magical resistances in the game, that would go a LONG way to making spells strategic and different right there (got'a freeze that fire elemental; got'a fry that troll; got'a melee those wolves). Heck, all they'd have to do is give a ranged resistance too (makeing the normal def vs most melee) and you could make calvary with anti-ranged to tear up those archers (no need to even lower archers curent damage if they did that). No to men
A cooldown would be GREAT. I was always lothing of games where everyone has to spam fireball after fireball (afer fireball) the entire battle. Then, evey battle after that. This would eleviate the spam-AoE bordom of the game, and actually add more stratagey.
Yes, co-op would be the perfect way to test the MP game I'd think. I'm really disapointed (and shocked) that MP was not there on install, but, I'm glad if they are doing lots of the improvements/changes/fixes on their "Big Issues" list first, to get them ready for MP.
If you have a retail copy, there is no need to worry or complain. If you don't. . . . [e digicons][/e]
Just opening the manual, I was thinking "is that all there is to the game?". Then when I started playing, I'm saying "Wow, there's tons more, but where and how do you learn to use it all?". Then, as I slowly, painfully, figure out all the mechanics and UI (mostly by trial and error), I'm realizing "How is your average gamer ever going to learn to play this game?". Now, I'm pretty sure I've learned 90% of the rules and UI, and I've played for several days, and I have very mix
Quick, someone start the "when is 1.08 comming out" thread. [e digicons]}:)[/e] Seriously, can't wait to see what is in "7". I am SO hoping they will tweak and patch Elemental to juciy goodness before Civ5, then I could have a chance to get my friends hooked on this game first.
Ya, when the city levels up, or you go to build a new building, I guess they decided to remove most info you need to make those decisions[e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Uless it's legal in your state, you must recruit a "female" champions to marry (not a male). . . You lose half your kindom if she divorces you. . .
If attacks always hit, I promice you, Champions will die far more often than the one-hits are doing now. I agree one-hits should be very rare, but always hitting/doing damage is going to leave dead or damage armies/champions even after the smallest of battles; which means constant healing; retreating; or reloading saved games after every single battle.
I'm not sure, but I do really like the fact that you can miss in this game. Not only is it fun, and more realistic, but your champions would take 1 hit minimum every attack if you could not miss [e digicons]8C[/e]
I'd just like to say, although I don't like the "one shots" my champions sometimes get, I REALLY like that you can "Miss" in this game. Really. I've always hated TBG that always hit; and always do damage. I love when my champions are getting attacked, and it's a close battle, and SWISH, the enemy misses [e digicons][/e]
Here's the thing: I think (and read on a couple) that the reviewers are waiting a bit to put up their reveiws of "EL"; probably for a patch or two, and also for MP to be started so they can include that in the reveiw also (and frakly, to give SD a chance for a quick hail-marry patch because they like the company). I doubt they will wait too long waiting for MP to come online, and if they are forced to review a game with "16 player MP" on the box that has no MP, yikes
I understand Static. None of my friends would get this mostly because of the no MP so far. But, I hear they are taking extra care to make a good MP launch, and, to make sure updates/improvements they add to the game are included in the MP aspects too. So I don't think it will take too long for it to start. I'm on pins & needles to see how it works "after" MP is available, but not too much in a hurry to have it start.
"they said they are going to put them" All I heard so far is that there would be no tactical battles, then, that there's "going" to be TB be in MP. I never once read that there "are" tactical battles in MP. That's why I'm so concerened. "Going" could mean "in several months" for all we know. Again, I guess we will see soon enough.
Keep in mind, even if/when they do get MP, there may be no tactical battles . TBs are THE reason we play games like this. That's why we found cities; build buildings; tech up; and raise armies. You hope to have many climactic, epic battles throughout the game. A pop-up box instead? No thanks. Imagine, you go to see Lord of the Rings, and just befo
Well, after reading this post, my LE box is now prominently placed on the top-center of my computer desk. I'm keeping it for sure. It's just the waiting for some of the above to be implemented that will make me crazy. [e digicons]:D[/e]
I've used the "Lower Land" spell to lower an area of land enough so my caravan could get through, then make a handy little road to use to boot.
Glad to hear the comments. I look forward to what the future holds for the game. Try and give tactical combat some love sooner rather than later as well though, if at all possible. Thanks
I second that! I have the LE box sitting on my desk; a brand new game I've been waiting for months, and I don't even feel like playing it because the tactcial combat is so primative and sim
1. unique magical resistances for different eneimies 2. An actual manual so new players can read how to play the game (sorry, but that deserves a bit DUH). 3. MP with Tactical
Catagory: Game Play & New Ideas: Title: Magic resistances are needed to give battles any hope of depth, strategy, not to mention "fun". https://forums.elementalgame.com/393848 Magic is BORRING and has little or no strategy to it. I don't even care what damage spell (or even weapon type) I use the majoity of the time since it e
I was wondering that too CPike; I did not know if I had to station them in a city to get their bonuses.
Well, Seboss might have a somewhat viable suggestion, if spell research costs were increased a bit, and then the shard gave +1 Arcane Knowledge to researching "that" type of magic only. But I agree with Shogun, the all-or-nothing way can be disaterous; and when MP gets going, there are going to be constant rage-quites if you got the short end of the shard-stick.
Well, after playing for many more hours today/tonight, I got sick of using magic. Miss, miss, miss, all because a monster had a high number after it's shield. I tried using that "Mind Blast" or whatever spell, thinking it might bypass a monsters high def; miss, miss, miss. It was just way easier to go full melee and take them out that way. Elemental, War of Melee. . . (till some updates I hope)[e digicons];)[/e]
Because TBS games are few and far between. Years between good ones sometimes. With the economy the way it is, and two TBS comming out so close together, people are going to chose one or the other. There's a reason there's a "5" in Civ 5, and I think I, and many others were hoping EwoM would hit one out of the park and give Civ5 an "underdog punch". In my case, my friends and I were chosing which one to ALL get together, so we could all play together (we don't h
