Well I'm glad for you. For people who primarily want it for SP it's probably going to shape up as a pretty good game. But now that proper MP support is "wait and see" with Civ 5 coming out a month later? That's where the MP folks are going to end up.
That's what happening here for me Tridus. I'm getting the game for sure (preordered). And 4-5 of my gaming buddies were for SURE going to get Element
I never had an Avitar, but when I finally tried to get one, it refuses to let me do so now.
"that may see little or no use at all." I know I speak for myself and all my gaming buds when I say: The ONLY reason we will ever be playing single player is if we happen to not be able to get together with our buds at the moument. We are (for some, "were") getting Elemental for multiplayer. Only. And Lan "was" going to be a huge part of that. We also play at work, or up at the mountain cabin, now, we probably can't. [e digicon
I'm not even sure who wants to sit down for hours and play a game like this multiplayer anyways >.>
People with friends and family "Vork" . . . .
Now I just have to worry about getting my cheap friends to pony up for a copy/seriel key of their own.
This is exactly my problem. Before this thread, my friends and I were going to get together on the 25th to play a Lan game (and so I could also entice them to purchase the game too). Now my conversation with them is going to go like this: Me:"Hey guys, you still wana'a come over on the 25th to play Elemental via Lan and see if you want t
Ok, to clarify so I can tell my friends the details: When I get my game, I can install it on all 4 computers here. I then tell my 3 friends that they all need to buy their own game too? But when they come over, they need to "log in" using the # from the game they each purchased, and then, we can all play on my Lan?
I'm pretty confused too Civ. I will have one copy of the game, which I want to install on 3 different computers here for Lan play. When we play Sins on the Lan, it's super easy, but Elemental does not sound as easy so far. And does that mean I should tell anybody comming over to try Lan play to get their own account on Impulse? Signed, Forest Gump.
Well, the odd problem is, even if my friends all get Elemental too (which they most likely will), we still can't play on the Lan at one house until we figure this out. But I appreciate the help so far. I mean, they are not going to want to install their copies on my computers. When it comes out, I guess we will try the above (crosses fingers).
Ok, when I get Elemental, I'm having 3 friends over to show them, and I was hoping to get a Lan game going (making 3 more sales should be easy after a couple hours of Lan play). I will have 4 computers here. All will have Impulse on them (of course). Two will have my home email, but how can I "or can I even" install the game on the other 2, that use my work email on them? Then can I upgrade/patch them all too? After StarCra
Don't get "too" excited guys, I've heard from 2 store owners that it's as likely to be available on the 25th as the 24rth, so it might be 11 days yet. I have my mind set on the 25th. If it comes out on the 24rth, well, that will be a nice surprise. . .
I have 3 gaming friends that are in driving range of me, and several that are online gaming friends also. We were thinking about getting SC2 and Civ5 for sure, but, all decided on Elemental (lack of DRM was a major factor). Word of mouth has been far more a reason people know about this game so far than advertising, and I think it will be even more important after the release.
Taskmasters. Nuff said.
Sylenall, it may be that the attacker has a limited amount of turns to win the battle. That should insure a hard pressed battle in most cases. I"m sure that a defener will do just what you said, get his units to all sorts of cover, I would. All sorts of ranged attacks and spells will be available too, so I'm guessing a defender could only bob and weave so much. There will also be different defence ratings, hit points and damage, so I'd venture a&nbs
I was going to start a new thread subject about this simular topic, but I think I will just add to you question: I was about to send all the links to the demo videos to all my gaming friends. I wanted them to see all the great things about the game, and get excited and buy it too (I preordered the CE). Then I saw the tactical battle part. Yikes . I know it's not the retail/full game. I know it's not finished yet. But I chose to not send the #3 video
