Ok, to clarify so I can tell my friends the details: When I get my game, I can install it on all 4 computers here. I then tell my 3 friends that they all need to buy their own game too? But when they come over, they need to "log in" using the # from the game they each purchased, and then, we can all play on my Lan?

I'm pretty confused too Civ. I will have one copy of the game, which I want to install on 3 different computers here for Lan play. When we play Sins on the Lan, it's super easy, but Elemental does not sound as easy so far. And does that mean I should tell anybody comming over to try Lan play to get their own account on Impulse? Well, the odd problem is, even if my friends all get Elemental too (which they most likely will), we still can't play on the Lan at one house until we figure this out. But I appreciate the help so far. I mean, they are not going to want to install their copies on my computers. When it comes out, I guess we will try the above (crosses fingers).

Ok, when I get Elemental, I'm having 3 friends over to show them, and I was hoping to get a Lan game going (making 3 more sales should be easy after a couple hours of Lan play). Don't get "too" excited guys, I've heard from 2 store owners that it's as likely to be available on the 25th as the 24rth, so it might be 11 days yet. I have my mind set on the 25th. If it comes out on the 24rth, well, that will be a nice surprise. . .

I have 3 gaming friends that are in driving range of me, and several that are online gaming friends also. We were thinking about getting SC2 and Civ5 for sure, but, all decided on Elemental (lack of DRM was a major factor). Word of mouth has been far more a reason people know about this game so far than advertising, and I think it will be even more important after the release.

Sylenall, it may be that the attacker has a limited amount of turns to win the battle. That should insure a hard pressed battle in most cases. I"m sure that a defener will do just what you said, get his units to all sorts of cover, I would. All sorts of ranged attacks and spells will be available too, so I'm guessing a defender could only bob and weave so much.
