I think right now players who only build hero-only armies have a huge advantage because A) Heroes are cheaper than regular soldiers B) Heroes don't need to be produced in cities C) Heroes are very powerful even without any techs from the tech three.

I can't even install it because the installer always hangs in the beginning. It just says status: Installing Elemental: Fallen Enchantress and nothing happens even if I wait for an hour. Re-downloading didn't work either.
Lack of MP is disappointing but the good news is that Conquest of Elysium III (from the makers of Dominions 3) is right around the corner so hopefully that will satisfy my hunger for fantasy multiplayer strategy.
Kael already asked if he could work on Elemental's backstory but Brad turned him down http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=7415642&postcount=2
I think the organized perk should be removed because it's just too powerful. I would also suggest that you remove the teleport spell if you can't teach the AI to use it efficiently.
The AI just needs to learn how to use the teleport spell.
I think you should bring back the faction creation tool that was in the beta because most people are not going to try modding so they are stuck with the premade factions. The tool was also great because it allowed you to create balanced factions very quickly and you couldn't cheat by giving yourself tons of bonuses.
Blistering Sands...too much Starcraft 2.
Well, obviously tactical battles would also have a timelimit.
You all seem to be overlooking another aspect of tactical battles if they were included in the online multiplayer suit. Griefing. Imagine this. You are forced to watch every battle someone has with the ai, or players. Well imagine the person who finds it funny to drag out EVERY tac battle for as long as humanly possible. (IE not fighting, running away in circles, etc) just to force you to watch their antics. It WOULD happen.
&n
It's just a Travian clone and doesn't even have tactical battles.
I think Stardock should stop treating MP gamers as second grade citizens. As long as you keep doing that your games will never develop a strong multiplayer community. Taking tactical battles out of the multiplayer mode is a huge mistake and makes the game a lot worse in every way possible. Why would anybody play Elemental without battles when they could just play Civ 5? I have fought a lot of battles in Elemental and pretty much all of them are over in less than a minute. If you don't
The battle UI is definately a bit disappointing. The UI in the early mockup images looked so much better
Looks like Gametrailers just posted some new videos. Looking good. http://www.gametrailers.com/game/elemental-war-of-magic/12076
I'm disappointed that you decided to remove the ingame editor because that would have been more accessible to a lot more people.
Tactical battles are disabled.
It would definately make the game feel more epic if the standard unit size was 5 or 10 soldiers and not 1.
A Total War or Crusader Kings style strategy game is really the best choice because in the books the main focus is the power struggle between the different factions and there's always lots of scheming and backstabbing going on.
Here is the bigger image: http://pcmedia.ign.com/pc/image/article/110/1107646/elemental-war-of-magic--20100721030704344.jpg I really loved Outcast so that custom map should be great.
That quote is over a year old. Back then battles were supposed to be in real-time and feature thousands of soldiers. A lot has changed since then.
Currently the balance is so broken that you can beat the game with just your sovereign and a bunch of spells. You don't really need any strategies.
Press the add as a favorite button in the spellbook.
Just tried a couple tactical battles and noticed that combat speed is simply too good. If you have just 1 point more combat speed than your enemy, you can kill them without taking zero damage. Just hit them once and then move back one square. Next turn your enemy will follow you and you can do the same thing over again. Using this tactic I could kill even the most powerful mobs with my sovereign. I think this needs to be fixed or everyone will just level up their combat speed an
If you want to make multiplayer as fun as possible then you have to include tactical battles. If you take them away you lose at least half of the fun. Without tactical battles combat magic would also become totally useless and that would make the magic tech tree less interesting.
Is there a chance you can work on getting Tactical battles go really fast? There's a problem... Tactical combat is nice and all... as long as you're playing alone. In MP that might be a problem. And while auto-resolve is an option, tactical spells need tactical combat... So is there a chance you can introduce a "simplified" model of tactical combat that excludes movement but allows to distribute attacks
