My sovreign is attacked by a band of spiders. I select that I want to manually fight the battle, but doing so does nothing, just takes me back to the same screen.
I am forced to auto-resolve, which loses me the battle and then CTDs.

I can't seem to enter tactical combat at all?!? Pressing the "Battle" button does nothing.
Has tactical combat been disabled in this version?
[CTD may have just been because I alt-tabbed to report the failure to enter tactical combat.]
It looks like a few files weren't included in the beta update. They're rectifying it now.
Sweet! I was worried we'd have no tactical battles in this build. Guess I'll screw with the modding tools until you guys fix it 
No, there was a miscommunication with the build team on what maps were supposed to be included and none of the tactical ones (or even the seed maps) were included.

Yeah, thanks for the reply, as I was about to post the same thing.
Glad you guys reported it. We totally crossed streams. I had said I wanted the load button to only list user created maps and not the seed maps and they thought that meant remove the seed maps (including tactical battle) and tactical battles don't generate maps, they'll just crash without them.
Great! Other than that, so far so good!
I would like to be able to read about the technologies that I've already completed, though.
