That was one of the best AARs yet! [e digicons]\o/[/e] I hope we can build trebuchets, too! Roland had put out the word that the Kingdom ...the Kingdom what?!? You can't leave me hanging like this! The word...is the bird?

Wow, I made the original post back in 2008 and people are still commenting! Guess I'm not the only one looking for Silent Hunter in Space (space...space...space). [e digicons]:D[/e] To borrow from Rick Santelli "Game devs, are you listening?!?" [e digicons][/e]

Maybe your children could have a chance of running away from an arranged marriage based on their compatibility with their bride/groom and their loyalty to you. If they run away they might seek refuge in some other civilization and start working for them as a champion.
That's a good idea! If it isn't in the game, it would be cool if it could be implemented later. I
This update begs a lot of questions about children. Is the process for having children any different for a female Sovereign as opposed to a male? Is pregnancy represented at all, either for a queen or a king's wife? If a female Sovereign has a child when she's out in the wilderness somewhere, what do you have to do to get it sent somewhere safe? Or do babies not have a physical in-game representation at all until they

I always liked the look. I am so sick and tired of "realistic" graphics in every game. As Borderlands demonstrated to me, sometimes artistic flair is far more engaging than photo-realism. I suspect this is doubly true when dealing with fantasy and sci-fi.
May I suggest Let the Galaxy Burn ? It is a collection of the best 40K short fiction and provides a good tour through the entire 40K universe. There are a ton of great stories in this omnibus and I highly recommend it. EDIT: Just saw how old the last post was. Oops! Anyway,

Looking forward to more! It gives me something to read until I get to write about my own adventures. [e digicons]^_^[/e] Question: when units get damaged in battle, does it take time for them to recover HP? Or are they instantaneously healed?
These quotes are from the recent GameShark interview: Let's move on to diplomacy. I write the AI for the game and the diplomacy was the part that I just really started getting into because I had to wait for a bunch of stuff. In the latest
That was a very good interview! I am glad that they tried to ask some different questions. I liked this: Let's move on to diplomacy. We have the first trailer posted here . It does sound interesting. I confess to never having played any of the originals (prior to Elemental, I never was a big fan of fantasy gaming), but this one seems like it could be a lot of fun. It also appears to be a PC-exclusive title, which is always a plus.
It sounds a bit like Left 4 Dead, a bit like Fort Zombie, and a bit like Nation Red. It either is going to be a forgettable bit of derivative trash, or a great combination of ideas. There's rarely a middle ground with games like this.
GameTrailers has an interesting dev vid from GC10: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gc-10-the-sims/702957 I like the sword fighting. [e digicons]B)[/e]
That was a good interview! Mr. Wardell seems like a very affable gent!
That was a great read! I hope to write one of my own AARs shortly after getting this game. There's nothing better in the world of gaming than a game that gives a fan fic writer all the substance he needs to start his own novel. So...maybe that's a yes? [e digicons]^_^[/e] I still use the Sins template, it's really sharp looking.
When Sins of a Solar Empire was released, Stardock came out with a special Sins MyColors desktop theme (I believe GalCiv had one too). Will MyColors have a theme for Elemental? [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
Definitely agree! Elemental is a game just filled to the bursting point with all the right elements (ahem) for fan fic writers to churn out pages and pages of material. The fellas over on the Sins of a Solar Empire have done so, along with the GalCiv guys (I've written some stuff for both, too!), and neither of those games have as much RPG potential as Elemental. Only the best games engage me with such strong immersion that I am compelled to chronicle my adventures. Kn
