Is there a way to see the radius of an outpost? When it is next to a city, it just sort of blends in with the AOE of the city.
I'm working on the diplomacy features for 1.5 right now. It's getting the biggest revamp since the original release of Fallen Enchantress. There are really two broad problems with it: 1. There are a lot of different variables that determine relations but not a lot of controllers (i.e. they're either on or off without any conditions other than true or false). This is being changed so that the relat

I've noticed that in both 1.3 and 1.4, the AI seems to be war happy. I am repeatedly finding myself in wars with other sovs whom I have virtually no contact with. It is getting so crazy that in my current game I have had moments where the entire world was at war with me simultaneously! Literally every AI sov wardec-ed me even though I only actually shared borders with one AI. I wasn't even powerful: my empire was in 4th place in the rankings. It is partic

Call it Magic: Bacon . The "magic" covers the fantasy part, and everyone loves bacon. [e digicons];P[/e] Frogboy: I was playing Galactic Civilizations II last night. I hadn’t played it in a very long time and was stunned by just how much…awesome it has in it. That awesomeness didn’t come from the original design. It came from years and years of iteration and frankly, labors of love. </blockquote

I've been playing GalCiv II again and I think the secret to bringing GalCiv III's universe to life could be the Galactic News Network. In GalCiv 2, you got the full GNN treatment with a tech breakthrough, and a simple GNN report at the start of every turn. I would love to see the GNN become much more active in the game, with it being used to report on all sorts of events in detail, with lots of video. I am reminded of the old sub game Seawolf that had its own TV news

The art direction is really fantastic when you do take the time to zoom in. And unlike with a RTS game, with a turn-based game you can actually take the time to enjoy it. [e digicons][/e] I intend to do this more often because Stardock's painterly approach is really gorgeous.

I really have to give the FE Legendary Heroes art team a big pat on the back. I remember when Elemental was first in production and Mr. Wardell posted some journals explaining how he and his team wanted to make the franchise a showcase of what PC-only graphics can look like. Well, I think it is safe to say that his mission has been accomplished if this screenshot is any indication: <img src="http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd70/CrusaderScott/FE%20Legendar

I think I found a bug with the Burning Hands spell. I have noticed that about 50% of the time the game will not let me cast the spell on an enemy unit for unknown reasons. When I put the wand over the target, it tells me that"I need to target an enemy unit" even though I am doing just that. Screenshot: As you can see, my wand is over the ogre but it won't re

CK2 is an absolutely fantastic gaming experience. For me, CK2 is the only game that really feels like what a RPG experience should be all about. If only Skyrim had such wonderful, character-based interactions. [e digicons]^_^[/e] I purchased the Legacy of Rome DLC too and like that changes it brings. Well worth the measly few bucks.

We don’t anticipate Beta 4 coming out until August 16th. Sorry for the wait on this but there’s a lot of polish, testing, balancing, and UI to get in there. And there will be a Beta 5 after Beta 4 at which point we’ll start thinking about a release date. We’re in no hurry. The objective here is to create the best fantasy strategy game we can possibly make. August 16th...NOOOOOO! That long to wait?&nb
Quoting DsRaider, reply 181I don't think the people advocating fro mortal champions understand the consequences. 1. Champions would get pretty scarce once 1 or 2 have died. 2. You could only cope by never risking your champions. Champion levels would decrease significantly. 3. Winning a single battle against someone and killing 1-2 champions would mortally cripple them for the rest of the game. Bye bye ma
The game is really coming along - apart from one massive game-breaker - the enemy's champions keep coming back, making it impossible to defeat any enemy. Please lose this crazy mechanism, by which all champions are immortal. I don't mind losing mine, as long as the enemy loses theirs. I had to quit the game I was playing, because they just kept coming at me - it's ludicrous.
&

As I wrote in the other thread, I am all in favor on 1-tile cities if for no other reason (and there are lots of other reasons) that it will allow for city sieges, a vital tactic in medieval warfare. Plus, by limiting the size of cities, I would think some meaningful choices for the player would suddenly materialize as you couldn't just pack every city with every building. Last, as Frogboy has said, it will go a long way in keeping the scale of the game at an appropriate level

I am very glad to see that SD is considering completely revamping the city building mechanic to a one tile system. As it currently stands, city building is bland and uninteresting because every city is the same as every other city. Plus, the ability to make sprawling cities reduces the viability of a siege mechanic, something I consider vital to any medieval-themed game. So color me very excited by the possibility of reducing cities to a single tile. I think this will

The game has been out for about a month now and I have to say it is probably one of the finest games I have ever played. I thought the thrill would wear off quickly, as it has with just about every other game from the last year or so, but I still cannot stop playing it! CK2 is what PC gaming used to be all about: deep, open sandbox strategy gaming. I can't wait for the first DLC/expansion.

I voted for city management because, right now, cities are remarkably bland with no real character or sense of life. They need a lot of work to feel like a fun mechanic. However, I think everything on the list still needs a lot of work. Top four for me: 1) City management - see above. 2) Tactical battles - right now, they feel less like battles and more like back alley brawls (or, even worse, a throwaway mini-game). Where are the tactics? Whe

Diplomacy This probably won’t make it into the beta 2 series. But diplomacy is going to get a lot more attention for Beta 3. For example, we are considering an option to let players surrender to you where their sovereign becomes your vassal (they get a negative trait called “broken spirit” that keeps them from being too powerful – last thing we need is players being able to spring Verga on their ene
