Happened to me with both Entrenchment patches. What I did is simply close Impulse. You will get a "pause download" warning message, click yes and shut down Impulse. Wait a few seconds and then restart Impulse. After it logs on, it will ask you if you want to restart the download. Click yes and it should finish verifying and extracting. Should work fine. I did this twice and it worked twice.

Oh, thanks!
I wanted to change my exisiting avatar, so I went to my CP, deleted my old avatar picture...but was unable to upload a new one. The "upload" button just doesn't work. I tried it in both IE and Firefox with no luck. Any ideas? [e digicons]:maybe:[/e]
how many people are on a starbase just wondern for possible future fan fic.
The great thing about the virgin Sins universe is that a lot of the details are still being fleshed out. So feel free to let your imagination soar!
I love these animated graphics, but I never can find a forum that allows graphical sigs. [e digicons]:'([/e] Guess I will finally have to get down to business and create a Sins fansite so I can use some of this stuff!
Finally found it. I gotta say, i hate vista, file manipulation used to be so easy.
I sooo agree. I'm not a Vista basher, but in this regard, MS really did mess up a good thing for no real purpose. It will be listed as a .bmp. Before you post it, you would be wise to convert it to a smaller .jpg.
Nice screenshots!
Someone should also start a TEC screenshot thread.
Considering Sins is such an attractive game, maybe it is time for a pinned all-category screenshot thread. I was doing a little Sins surfing and was shocked to discover that there are almost NO Sins fansites out there (I think Sins Files is the only one). This needs to be rectified if for no other reason than to spread the word to people who might have overlooked this game. Perhaps we could get more fansites and fan blogs out there if there was a fansite kit? I realize the fellas at Ironclad are very busy with the
There is no right or wrong way to play Sins. This is one of those great titles that gives you all the tools you need to create your own epic story of interstellar conflict. As such, I recommend just trying all sorts of different set-ups. I've been fooling around with different combos since I got the game and even the ones that didn't work out all that well still proved to be great fun. Just consider every game as a seperate chapter of victory or defeat in the larger Si

I also designed the Vasari Minelayer: The reason i haven't put it up is because the art wasn't quite as well executed as everything else. I have noticed that sci-fi games and books a
Nice work! Are you going to consolidate your stories together all in one place when you are done? Sins lacks fan sites for some inexplicable reason; maybe yours could be the first? One correction: you don't need to put "the" in the front of a vessel's name. This is a common mistake, even in academia. A vessel's name is treated in the same fashion as a person's - i.e, you don't write "the John Smith", just "John Smith". The same with
Mr. Fraser came across as quite the witty fellow. He not only has a good sense of humor, but I admire his wide interest in gaming and his committment to only releasing a product that meets his high standards. He is most definitely a credit to the gaming industry! Well done, Mr. Fraser, for both the interview and our beloved Sins! [e digicons][/e]

There already is: click on the drop-down menu: Home->Sins of a Solar Empire->Fan Submissions Good stuff in there!
You have to have steam running...even for the demo. It's a real turn off, in any case. The game runs like crap. I can have a maxed graphics game of Medieval 2 run perfectly, yet I can't even apply a graphics change to this game without it freezing. Worse still, after a few tries and getting it to the worse settings possible and waiting almost ten minutes on the load to the tutorials, I found the graphics to look like shogun total war w
I just had this problem. In my case, I fixed it by stopping the DL and then starting it again. The whole DL restarted and it worked fine. Go figure.
I probably will. I enjoyed WiC as a *beautiful* RTS beer-and-pretzels wargame. Unfortunately, I think the bitter division that occured between the casual players and the so-called "expert" players killed that game. Hopefully, the expansion will give the game a fresh start.
I'm not too keen on this whole "pick a form of government" thing. Sins is different from Civ or Galciv in that you are not so much an emperor managing his empire over the course of many years, but more of a grand admiral directing the military effort to conquer a particular solar system or two. I think adding political options to the game removes the war-focus and takes the game in a very different direction.
what do i want to see... hmm what i would really like is the ability to have proper formations for my fleet other than the ones available at the mo. i'm talking delta, sqaure, defensive, offensive etc - remember homeworld anyone? it really bugs me when i have large battles and there is just a cluster of ships, it looks a mess. Along the same lines as homeworld, there was a ship (scavenger i think) that could capture ship
You should be able to designate a flagship for some kind of fleet bonus. Maybe even just a significantly higher culture repel rate, or some empire specific bonus. Obviously it would have to be your highest ranking ship, and some kind of limit to keep you from changing it several times if you have several top level ships. One thing I would like to see added one day is changing the training of capital ships 'crews' to capital ship 'captains'. Crews are too anonymous. Instead, I think it would be cool to train specific individuals to command your beloved caps. For example, after training a captain, you should be able to go to a screen and see a little profile shot with his name and maybe even offensive/defensive bonuses that he would bring to a cap ship or a fleet if his ship is the taskforce l
