I am guessing 5:00PM PST. Should we start a pool?
The first game will be good, followed by two decent sequels. Then the makers will just phone it in until you start to wonder if they are even reading what they wrote, I mean playing what they made...
I wouldn't bet on saved game corruption being fixed just yet. It is probably a little better though.
I am putting myself into a coma until tomorrow. Thanks Beer! [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
If you have waited this long, try and last till the release in a few to six months. I never could...
Frogboy says he is in favor of good things, but 15 years ago in congress he voted against good things that had bad thing earmarks. Can you really trust Frogboy?
There does seem to be a square theme in the land mass stamps, which does not look like a real land mass. It's hard to make tiles look rounded, but maybe if cliffs and beaches rounded out some? Not my area of expertise, but I can promise you that releasing the workshop would allow me to finish my Vvardenfell map. I have the land mass done and all the mountains. I just need to port it over to FE and hope the two map modding programs are compatible.
It would be nice to have city battles use a map that is chosen based on what level fortifications the city has. The better the fortifications, the more favorable the map is to the defender.
Modding is not an option for this because the AI will not know how to use it. You can't mod for MP, so don't start on about it being useful for MP. When modding, one has to limit oneself to what the AI can cope with. Otherwise you might as well add 1000000 Gildar to the player and call it good. The best thing to do is have people like Napean mod away features that are too complicated. Let him delete hundreds of lines of xml, instead of asking me to write t
It's been a long time. I remember even farther back when Elemental was just a twinkle in a frog's eye. Thems was the days.
I hate to admit it, but alot of the people that play these games don't comment on the forums. They are lazy and dull and a waste of space. Still, without them there would be no money to make games, so we must appease their slow-witted nature. Someday art won't be tied to capitalism and games will be made for quality rather than sales. Today is not that day.
Kongdej is right that trading with other factions is at some point a good thing that we don't want to throw away, there are many situations where a rade guild would be necessary. During total war, when all factions are at war, for very evil factions that are at war with everyone, in the early game when no one has enough to trade, in the early game when you don't have enough known races to trade, in the late game when trading is foolish due to high levels of economic competition, in ev
So Weidbrewer treats the game like an ex-girlfriend and Lord Xia treats it like a wife...
Kongdej never bought any Stardock expansions. It's not his fault, he is relatively new to the community.
Shouldn't it be possible to add a second neutral faction, like the monster faction, that shows up in the diplomacy screen? I want to add in a trade guild that has unlimited resources so that players can make trades with them to better utilize all the extra resources one seems to get. It seems too often I have an extra 500 metal when playing as a magic faction that will never be used. It would be nice to be able to exchange that for gildar or crystal. On the te
So they go with a more is better strategy. Makes sense from a 4x perspective, but I will be modding in single city options. Ivory Towers Mod will set up your capital as an impenetrable fortress. Each city you build or capture after that will get serious penalties. You will never have a second city functioning above level 2. Captured cities will get a permanent 50% unrest, mostly serving as population centers for your profane experiments. The great thing about FE is that many things can be add
Gonna want to wait until Thursday +1 to make any design proposals. For all we know most of this is already ingame. Good ideas though! [e digicons][/e]
Sure I would like LOS before terrain bonuses, but the latter can be implemented much easier and the former is more of an expansion game retrofit. So of course, I will lobby for terrain now and then lobby for LOS in the expansion. I think I just invented a new genre, DBS (development based strategy).
And ranged units only move back one space at a time when they do retreat. Why?
Keep Moving Kongdej. They are watching.
The current problem I see with having 'intelligent' combat is that it currently doesn't exist. As is, you gain the most benefit for striking first. Hense, even if the computer tries to position for first strike, you just move back further.
Incorrect. The benefit of striking first is only the best option when you specialize in that tactic. You can build a unit that is meant to be hit first for an advantage. The
M4-RK is a broken down timebot from the before-after time. Nothing to see here, just sell it and keep moving along.
Humans: If you can find one smart enough to design a nuclear bomb, you can find one dumb enough to detonate it. I wonder if other stunted races have such a wide margin of intelligence levels.
Well said Hf. I suspect beta 5 will contain major updates to tactical AI. From a developer standpoint, you would want all the bells and whistles in before you start making the music.
