I don't want more capital protection because I am working on a mod that does that. I like a choice between fortifying one's capital or expanding. In FE you just don't get stuff like that for free, you have to work for it.

Google books is the closest thing we have to a Library of Alexandria. I'll never need to buy a book again, as long as I stay behind the copyright curve.
Little does Heavenfall know that Anon has intercepted messages from Cydonia. They have allied against the powers of DRM and whatever tomfoolery Anon believes about the Jews controlling the world. That is why the Knights must be awakened!
Except that the AI is immortal and humans will eventually die. So the AI would win every battle.
You should wait till Thursday to start playing. That is beta 4.
Anyone catch the Olympic Pony Dancing contest? I guess you guys are the target market there...
I am confused. I noted in my post that I assumed he was not trying during the battle. So why do other people feel the need to repeat me? Some just like typing on keyboards I suppose. as;baswgnbbv;gn;egnasdnb'[naenng'ng'n'pngas'enasen'asnas'eng/asneg'nase'gnase'ngaseg'pjasegn'aswge'asg'aseg'asg'asegasgasgaseg'p
At last the Knights of Cydonia can be awakened!
Not modding related. For those that are not aware, FE maps are made up of stamps of land. These lands are then littered with objects. Starting on a peninsula means you have less chance of getting any expansion resources, one way to get to the mainland, creatures in the way, and a general disadvantage against all players that didn't get put on Anthrax Island. Deleting this starting point is an unavoidable step towards fair games.
Won't be changing, will be refined.
Some tactical notes: -Don't send in Anna on the first turn. It is better to leave her out of range on the flank. Send in your Sov. -You then cast slow. Fine, but you followed up with killing that unit. A better choice would be to attack the one without a spell on him. I guess you were more focused on the demo than efficiency, but I want you to get as good as possible for when multiplayer comes out. There should be a "Play the Frog Day" to celeb
Cam we delete that starting position that starts me out on a peninsula with no resources then?
Not to be that guy, but rumor is it was released in very poor form.
The AI does need some work. The major challenge of the game is learning the nuances of its mechanics. Once you have that knowledge, the second highest difficulty is the only thing one can consider difficult. Multiplayer is great, but the challenge is finding a few good humans to play with. There are some balance problems, but most of them are minor and only come up in MP. There are only 15 devs for the game and many of them are on vacation. The rest are working on a Mac version and modding. I
There are some techs in the expansion tree that reduce expansion disapproval. Each one reduces it by 22% for a total of 88% by the endgame. Also make sure you alternate between morale improvement techs from the trade tree as you expand. I would recommend slow expansion in the early game as the AI will really hate you for it. It can cause alot of galactic tension. You are better off with less than 12 systems.
For all those that are just getting into the game, I have started a let's play video series on Youtube: Endless Space: Introduction and Basic Economy
Anything above 640x800 will always be high resolution to me.
There's always cloth map!
I like the current models. It makes me think of a magical war room where moving the pieces sends orders across the realm. I do most of my strategic work from there. Also bears a delightful resemblance to Jumanji.
Early August is the word on the net. Right now they are doing Political Machine 2012. I heard it is all politics over at Stardockia right now. [e digicons]:erk:[/e]
It is generally easier to make all mods in the game folder. That way you don't need to bother learning which goes where. Just keep a backup!
Well if the devs want to add AoW style loot and teach the AI to guard heroes as well as a human, add resurrection mechanics, and go from there, I would not be in total opposition. But they haven't said anything about a massive change like that being a possibility. I would hate to see death added in to fix the AI problem, only to add so many more problems to the game. For the sake of discussion, I'll retort. Mortality and Immortality have no effect on hero death stacks. I
The XP penalty only applies to heroes. It is to prevent massive XP by placing all heroes in one army. You get a 50% penalty to XP for the second hero, plus an additional 50% penalty for each hero after that. Trained units get 50% less than heroes in general. So, they get only 25% with two heroes.
So am I to read into that boat comment that there will be a merchant marine guild that we pay to cross water?
With all the MMO out there, one would think this type of game would take off in new directions. Seeing this, I don't want to play another RTS until they do this with it.
